Located on the southeast corner of Glacier National Park on Highway 2 across from Marias Pass. This family owned retreat is one of a kind with a history going back to 1906. The main lodge has been fully remodeled with a full functioning restaurant and bar with the highlight being the large deck and the view of Glacier National Park overlooking the famous Continental Divide. The steakhouse & patio at the lodge offer seating for approx 60 people, all of whom may gaze at the splendor of Glacier National Park in clear view. Unsurpassed views offer the guests a chance to breath in the fresh air, get lost in the tranquility, spot some of the numerous wildlife roaming on the hillside or gaze at the historic Great Northern Railroad trains pass by just as they did in the 1800's. Sit back, relax and check your email on our free wi-fi if so desired while sipping on one of your favorite beverages. The restaurant, and patio areas are open all day long for leisure. *NEW - Our Glacier events room can accommodate up to 50 people and is perfect for private parties, weddings and retreats.

Ted and Mara are amazing, they have such a great spot and do such good work making sure each guest feels special and cared for. We got married here in August and cannot recommend it enough- they both worked countless hours in the weeks leading up to our wedding to make sure it wa

The welcoming was nice but after that everything was awful. Despite the fact that food was really good, the service was slow, server didn’t know food well enough, forgot our drinks. The cabins we had were average, but no Tv or wifi in there. The wifi was only in restaurant area,

Reviews like this one are always perplexing, not quite sure why there was a profound disconnect after a nice welcoming and a great meal and obviously cabins were okay but then seems personal about the server. Sorry our server didn't meet the standards you were striving for but we know our servers will always be professional, kind and answer any questions you may have, our restaurant is know for its service. There are times when the waitstaff get very busy and will forget things, they just need to be reminded occasionally and other staff will always help. As we state on our website there are cabins that have TV but our guests would have to choose them during booking. So again we apologize that after finding that a cabin was booked with no TV and that we live on top of a mountain with only satellite internet and that it ruined the whole trip and a person could possibly be traumatized with sad memories due to the experience of waiting for a great meal. If our future guests are wanting the best service, the best food and amazing views we are always welcoming with open arms.

Having a quiet, comfortable place to relax each evening is exactly what my husband and I wanted after long days on the trails. Being able to take a warm shower or bath enhances the refreshed feel. We met someone on the trail who was staying at another establishment who told us th

Extraordinary view from the lovely lodge and cabins. Easy access to East Glacier Village and East side of Glacier NP. Some have remarked about the train noise. People, these trains are an icon of the development of the American West. The rumble of these iron giants lulls you

Hello, Sorry for the delayed response. The continental breakfast is for our cabin guests but you can always stop in for a latte or espresso and enjoy the views!!

How far is the lodge and cabins from the entrance to GNP??
There are three entrances to Glacier National Park on the East side that we used. The closest is Two Medicine which is about a 30 min drive from Summit Mtn.. The next entrance is St. Mary's and it is about a 1 hour drive. The farthest is Many Glacier and it is about 1.5 hr. drive. The drive is beautiful and I don't ever remember the drive being a waste of time. It's part of the experience. There are closer lodging choices, but Summit Mtn is a wonderful place to stay! We even used the west entrance while staying at Summit Mtn!

How far is the Amtrak station? Thanks
Do you allow pets? I have a therapy dog that travels with me. She is under 20lbs. A King Charles Calavier.
"We stayed in the Grinnell cabin. Beautifully kept, two great beds, loved the porch."
"Floors can be chilly in mid-September so bring slippers to wear once those day-time shoes come off."
"Grinnell is closest to the restaurant/lodge and may have one of the better views of the woods and pond than some of the other cabins. "
"Rooms facing the track may be noisy due to the trains"
"Ask for a cabin with a view. Be sure to eat at the restaurant."
