We have stayed at this location twice in the past year, and hope to return in the future. This is an outstanding choice as a lodging option if you will be visiting the Two Medicine location at Glacier NP. A number of spacious and well designed cabins are available, and I believe they were primarily built by Ted, the owner. They are equipped with fridges and microwaves, and in-room coffee is provided. You are really out in the Montana countryside here, which appeals to us since we don’t like crowded lodging areas. They offer a fine dining steakhouse which we really enjoyed. A number of different entrees are offered, and the wine selection is well rounded. The steakhouse might be closed on Mondays, so you might want to check on that. The cabins do not have internet available, but you can pick it up at the restaurant if you need your daily fix! We have ATT phone service and were not able to get much of a signal there. Verizon/T-Mobile might be better. Overall, we just really enjoyed the get away from it all experience, with a fine dining restaurant to end the day!…
We stayed in Three Bears cabin. It had a lot of character and worked pretty well with two people sleeping on the pull-out sofa. The propane stove was great to heat things up in the morning. The continental breakfasts were fine and so was the Summit Mountain Lodge Steak House. Ted and Mara are very personable and accommodating. We had to cancel due to Covid in 2019, when we had originally planned to visit and they refunded our money promptly. This year, due to our airline changing our return flight time, we needed to cancel our last night there. Again, they refunded our money promptly. Both times we were respecting their cancellation window.
No T.V....which for those seeking that sort of camping or whatever, that would probably be like heaven for them, but for me, I like to watch a little TV before bed, so yes, that is a huge downfall. in fact, we didn't even know they had internet or wifi until later on that evening when we went to the restaurant (imagine having a whiny teenage girl in your presence who doesn't have any sort of internet connected to their cellphone.....talk about a ROTTEN time!!! lol). Speaking of the restaurant, really pricey...for a meal that was average at best. The driveway was really muddy. There is really loud railroad tracks right across from our cabin. On the good side, our cabin was SUPER clean, the staff was nice, the beds were comfy, and the heater worked really well.
Secluded cabins and a wonderful restaurant on the gateway to East Glacier and some of the best parts of Glacier Park! Enjoyed our stay immensely and loved the nearby hiking and amazing mountain scenery. Owners and the staff were wonderful!
Summit Mt Lodge is about 10 miles west of East Glacier on Hwy2. We were one of their first visitors for 2022, so the breakfast & steakhouse weren’t open yet (missed it by 2 days). The cabins were overlooking a small lake, and were clean and comfortable, complete with a small frig & microwave. New in 2022 is a beautiful guest registration center. The Mountain View’s are amazing! There were tables available (we played cribbage in the evening). There’s also a wonderful fireplace, great sitting area with internet, and a fooseball table. The owners were wonderful in booking reservations & sharing information about the lodge.
Nothing but 5 stars for the restaurant and owners! We hiked all day on the east side of Glacier and made reservations for dinner to end our day. A TRUE GEM! We were greeted by the owner as soon as we arrived in the steakhouse. He explained they were on their 2nd to last night of service before they closed for the winter. He was also upfront that it was only himself and one server working the dining room. As with everywhere in the US, the labor shortage has been a challenge for small businesses. FIRST - the food was Ahh-Mazing! our party of four enjoyed, ribeye, tenderloin, salmon and pork tenderloin. We all stopped short of licking out plates clean! Fantastic. SECOND - the owner was so nice and personable and took the time to engage and answer our questions - even with the high stress of running the dining service. After dinner, we walked around and looked at the cabins and property. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to GNP. Being small business owners, I always cheer for the little guy to succeed, and this family business is very worthy of the accolades.…
After a long weekend in Glacier NP we were tired of eating out of to go bags that the parks only offered during covid period. We wanted to sit down to a nice romantic dinner with a view and this place didn't disappoint not to mention how close it is to Glacier national park. The building has an amazing history and the small business owners are even expanding with a event area and cabins. The view was beautiful and we were able to watch trains go by. Customer service is excellent.
Outstanding food, great service and in such a beautiful location. We spotted in and it was a while until he could seat us, so the owner brought us wine in the garden. For dinner e had steak and the pork and both were great flavors, perfectly cooked and well served. We really enjoyed our dinner!
We visited and were still welcomed even though we didn’t have a reservation. They were accommodating and very attentive, and the steaks and meals were delicious. The views and grounds are stunning & it was a very pleasant dining experience. Loved it!!
Beautiful property with great views. The cabins were very neat and cozy with lots of space and hot water showers. The heater in the room kept us nice and warm all night. Chase and his wife are super friendly and accommodating. We had a great time talking to them and sharing stories. They also gave us great recommendations for where to go to hike and to take beautiful photos. The restaurant was out of this world! Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend staying here for your next Glacier NP adventures. Thank you guys for the amazing hospitality, we will definitely be back!
