The Lodge was as lovely as the photos suggested, and the owner and his small crew was kind, positive and helpful. We stayed in the Huckleberry Cabin. Their small crew manage the restaurant as well, and the owner personally came around during dinner to tell us there was a moose outside! Well, just about the entire restaurant ran outside to see and sure enough, Bob Junior was crossing the marsh. The owner also noticed me trying to catch a photo of a local Stellar's Jay and immediately went to get bird seed to entice him closer. Great food, great location, great stay. Be sure to ask about the hiking trail in the back!

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed at the Summit Lodge for four nights while hiking GNP. Its situated in the perfect location and gives you the quiet surroundings of GNP. The staff is EXCELLENT and Ted, owner/operator was very friendly and made sure our stay was special. The restaurant food was amazing, and we ate there each evening of our stay. The cabin was clean and very comfortable! Great place to stay after enjoying a day of exploring GNP and staying at beautiful secluded lodge. Much better than staying at a larger facility or touristy area.

We were hungry and needed lodging. Summit Mt. was available for both. Our meal was spectacular and the cabin clean and cozy, with an exceptional view!!! Breakfast was also a welcome treat with great coffee and just enough to start the day. We loved our dinner so much we ventured back a few days later to grab another meal. Just as delicious as the first time. Food and drink exceptional! Our host Ted and his staff were also amazing and so helpful! I love my coat too!! Thank you Ted, it was a highlight on our trip!

We loved our two nights at Summit Mountain Lodge. It was the perfect place to stay and visit two Medicine and Many Glacier. Dinner and drinks at the steakhouse were delicious. I wish we had more time to enjoy the lovely views. We enjoyed hanging out in the lodge and looking through the coffee table books. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed a lovely conversation with the owner. We will definitely be back!

For the $300 we paid, there is expectations to be met and well they fell way short. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, no tv and road leading up to the cabin was bumpy. The description said there was a nice view of glacier national park, and our view was dead trees and the train. We definitely wouldn't have waisted our money here had we known all this and known breakfast was only 7 to 9. When I left my review on Google, the owners were very rude and snarky. Not tht type of business I'd supposrt in the future.

We offer private cabins for up to 4 people for approx. $300.00 overlooking Glacier National Park free from neighbors with an incredible steakhouse on site. Yes we agree, don't spend over $600 to stay next to Glacier National park and don't travel if you don't have money to spend. Please check our website to see our views and please do your research and if you would like to book a cabin with a TV you must choose that cabin or be disappointed when you made a choice without a TV ( as our guest), accountability is tough in this world. Also, if your expecting to travel close to a national park but pay the same prices at home the expectations are pretty meaningless but rather clueless. We would like to thank Lori Nelson from south Dakota for her 3rd review copy and pasted ......congrats

Visited in July 2020 and left and honest review in which the “worst” thing I said was the restaurant was a bit pricey and slow. After the sarcastic response from Mr. Ted, the owner, to my review, decided we’d give them another chance. Our experience was even worse this time. Came here to write another honest review of how we were treated and what we experienced, and after reading this guy’s horrible responses to customers’ less than 5-star reviews, I won’t even bother. Clearly the guy can’t take criticism, constructive or not. Give your hard-earned money to a small business that actually cares about what you think and, when responding to you, doesn’t sound like an insolent child, not someone who will attack and insult you for having an opinion.

Our uninvited Guest again: "Came here to write another honest review of how we were treated and what we experienced", obviously must have been treated very good and the food must have been good because the review is simply attacking the owner from the previous visit over 2 years ago and doesn't mention anything from 2nd visit. No we don't believe you actually returned for another visit. The owners will always hold people accountable, constructive criticism would be when someone has the integrity to let the business know how they can make the guests stay better while staying not hiding behind social media. We have a saying" Never write what you cant speak face to face". We are perplexed" after writing the first review 2 years ago" the food was pricey, didn't like the lodging or service " returned thinking the fresh, farm to table food would be less expensive or........scratching head. If we didn't care we wouldn't actually hold a person accountable for not speaking to the staff, manager, or owners to try and help instead here we are Jr high school all over again posting an opinion to the world and not simply being respectful to one of the last remaining small businesses around Glacier.Y es, the entire park is controlled by 2 large corporations and here we stand. For our future guests : This is the Owners response from last review 2 years ago, "We appreciate the review but are a bit sensitive to all the criticisms while in the midst of a pandemic. We had lengthy discussions about opening the business for the season and actually taking on risk from out of state guests. So due to the pandemic we had to change a few things without actually ever doing them before so we had some learning curves. We are perplexed our special guest didn't mention the views, gardens, hiking or anything peaceful during the stay. We have unparalleled access to hiking, camping, rafting and fishing. If you don't come to explore may just want to stay in the big city. Summit Mountain is a place to get Away and take it all in but sometimes we realize it may be better for folks not to travel, away from the crowds.. If anyone comes out to Glacier National park they should understand the history of Glacier. It was actually the Great Northern railroad which actually invested and founded the park so the railroad runs around most of it. Also in the midst of a Pandemic and the entire East side of Glacier shutting down yes the restaurants in general will be a bit slower. We are a steakhouse with fresh food so it will always be more expensive than prepared frozen foods. Not impressed with this review. (Keep in mind , 1 out of 6 businesses were forced to close and we decided to open in the middle of a pandemic and we had to deal with this guest) Imagine inviting a guest to your home for dinner and they complained about the food, service, and lodging. Would you ever invite them back, we certainly didn't. Thank god its only one opinion

The stay was nice overall. The cabin was as expected and the staff were pleasant. Ida is amazing. However, the experience was ruined when they charged us for claimed damages to a mini fridge which never occurred. If you chose to stay with them be sure to fully document everything within the cabin upon arrival ti ensure you are not taken advantage of.

We respect this review as this guest was part of a 50 person wedding party and things happen. We hold ourselves accountable at every level and obviously didn't take advantage of 50 guests who all stayed in cabins. The head house keeper made the call and we have to stick by their integrity as well. Sorry if you were put in an awkward position but by no means you should assert that an entire business lacks integrity. Each season there are 50 events and very rarely are there damage charges. INTEGRITY: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness

The cabin we stayed in (Mulberry) had chairs on a charming covered porch overlooking the pond and the mountains--it was perfect for porch beers, morning coffee, and looking at birds. The interior of our log cabin felt brand new yet rustic, and the beds were very comfortable. I will say, bring your own shampoo and lotion, because in our cabin we were provided soap for the shower. We ate at the restaurant, and the food --from appetizers to dessert --was really, really good. I'm glad we found this place! I will be back.

Summit was a overnight stay for us as our first point of call for Glacier National Park. We wanted something that was between Bozeman and Waterton in Canada and Summit fitted the bill. When we arrived it was a great location, individual cabins almost like they are in the woods. Views from our cabin were great (Huckleberry) and we ate at the attached Steakhouse for dinner (which looked great and was the reason we choose here over other places). The room was really cute and the bed large and comfortable (in fact two queens in the room but we only needed one, nice big beds). Basic facilities in the room and the bathroom a little small but everything worked well and was clean etc. Parking right outside your cabin so no long move of your bags. We noted that other people mention the train line which runs behind the property. You can clearly see the trains and boy are they long, with a bit of noise when they come around the corner and when they stop further down the line with the carriages ending up behind Summit. No big deal though and it was quiet over the nighttime when we stayed. Had the continental breakfast included with the room, it was a bit spartan but enough to get you going for the day. The dining room where you eat breakfast was really nice, along with its views of the mountain. Overall a pleasant surprise and would stay again.

NO stars if I could. Terrible, a simple joke of the hospitality industry. Don’t bother calling the phone as no one will answer. Five days prior I tried to call to confirm the reservation and see if the steakhouse was open. No avail until I emailed. No steakhouse. Then was directed that our key would be in the door of the cabin. So we looked around for other food options. When we arrived we were in a tiny, dirty, hot and mosquito infested cabin. No one was on site for help. Suffered through a long night of trains as the property boarders a very active track (commuter Amtrak and freight). So close to keep you awake long into the wee hours. Website does not accurately represent the property. The view beyond the railroad tracks and highway is spectacular but that’s Mother Nature and they can’t take credit for how beautiful Montana is. If you want a wedding next to a bog and train tracks you’re in luck. I have to believe Orvis did not check this property in person before endorsing. No free breakfast even though there were more than a few cabins occupied (their policy). Left in the morning and again NO staff in sight. Left keys and moved on from the worst stay in my well traveled experiences. To put everything into perspective, we drove from Northern Canada down staying in different places that were charming, clean, quiet and well managed. It was an $89 dollar stay not a near three hundred.

Please see the other reviews as a reference to the business and we thank Miss Reiter for copying and pasting the same review, congrats! Please don't be like our lovely guest, we will hold you accountable for no planning, Always make sure to the businesses are in full service if your traveling around a national park before the season opens because it is very difficult to provide hospitality services when the season is not open. For our guests that pre-plan and have common sense- The season of Glacier typically is in full swing mid-June, someone will be happy to answer the phone and all restaurants and hotels are fully staffed including ours. This requires a bit of planning for those competent individuals who read ahead. The website accurately depicts the property as and states on 3rd party website as well as the business website that until June most places will be self check-in but again this would require reading. We hope this lovely woman arrives back in Canada sooner than later as Montana doesn't need the bad energy being carried by our lovely guest. PS If you do book the cabin that has the wall heating unit and it seems to hot, you may be required to turn the knob to turn off the heat. Yes, we even added a sign to the heating unit that says" turn knob" to turn off heat we call it The Reiter knob"
