Our family of 14 has been coming to Dogwood Acres every summer for about 10 years now. We love returning here. It is a quaint, family owned resort that has everything a family could desire while on vacation. We always bring our boat, but they have boats to rent also. They have boat dock slips to rent for a nominal fee. We rented two paddle boats for two hours and had a ball. There’s plenty of room in the front yard/driveway to play outdoor games, which we bring every year, such as beanbag toss and ladder ball. The cabins come fully furnished, with kitchen utensils, plates, pots and pans etc. just bring your own towels. Lee and Jenny are the sweetest couple, very accommodating and helpful with any requests. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get to meet Lee’s father, who lives on the property and hear some of his life stories. All in all, this place is very relaxing, quiet, and family-friendly.…
This is our 21st annual family vacation at the Ozarks. Our family found this gem about 9-10 years ago and this is place is our favorite (from the past 4 other resorts). It is a quiet, quaint, family-owned resort with everything you should need. We stay 7 days and enjoy the fishing off the docks, the swim dock (we sunbath and lay on rafts in the buoyed off area), spend time in the indoor pool/hottub, and play outdoor games (we bring the games) in the center of the resort. Jen and Lee, the owners are super nice and will bend over backwards to see that your stay is comfortable. The cabins are fully stocked with kitchen items and linens are provided. We bring our own towels/ beach towels and toiletries. I asked Jen about getting a clothesline in our cabin porch for our wet towels, and within 30minutes, ta-da, a clothes line appears!! My sisters family( 2 cabins down for ours) included their 40 pound dog, which loved the water and the fresh air! They have several rental boats to chose from on site, along with a boat gas dock. (we bring our own boat). Love doing my laundry there too! The local grocery store (Woods) is about a 9 minute drive from our cabins. Love this place!!…
This resort is awesome! We love our cabin. It’s spacious and clean. Lee and Jenny are amazing owners! The boats they rent out are fantastic and well priced. Best fishing experience our daughter has ever had. The wildlife is amazing! We’ve seen herons, deer, squirrels, and more! It is perfect for family reunions, group vacations, or just a family getaway!
The owners, Lee & Jen are so welcoming and helpful. The indoor pool, hot tub, small game room and swim docks kept my kids busy. We got lots of crappie off the lighted fishing dock. They have a library of movies you can borrow from in the office. The cabins are on the vintage side but very clean and just perfect for our family. We're there for the water and not luxury accommodations with mints on the pillow that you pay a ton for. The kitchens were very well stocked. My little girl loved picking out DVDs and watching them on the DVD player in the cabin while we fished at night. I'd say within 15 minutes drive time you can be at three different lakefront bar and grills with swimming beaches. Our favorite, by far, and the closest, is Franky & Louie's which is just a minute or two by water. We liked that they sold minnows and ice so we didn't have to leave the resort as much. The have boat, kayak and stand up paddle board rentals but we didn't take advantage of those this trip. I have stayed at resorts all over the LOZ and the owners here were by far the most down-to-earth and friendly I have come across. I would definitely return.…
First time at the Lake of the Ozarks and we picked a great place to stay. Lee and Jen were fantastic hosts, we have two teenage boys and they loved it here as well, the indoor pool and hot tug was nice to enjoy, the views were fantastic, this is the place to stay when you are down here!!
My family have rented a boat from here for family vacations the last two years, and have stayed here many times prior. The owners are very friendly and nice, and always keep the place in good shape. They have many boats for rent and some big docks that are great for fishing on. There is also a swimming dock and a gas station for boats. They even have an indoor pool and arcade. The cabins are very nice. All in all, Dogwood Acres is a great place to stay at the lake of the Ozarks.
Excellent hidden gem. No frills time at the lake. Great view and access to Lake of the Ozarks. Lindy and Wheldon are awesome hosts. Great swim dock and indoor pool. Perfect place for the family to vacation and spend a week
I was introduced to Dogwood Acres by my boyfriend who had stayed there many Summers during his childhood. It's nothing fancy, but definitely the right amount of perfect! Dogwood Acres is made up of multiple cabins some attached and some stand alones. They are all nestled on lakefront property making up the cutest little community. There's a swim dock, fishing dock, a gas dock, boat slips if you want to bring your own boat, and boat rental as well. We have rented both a pontoon and a ski boat with tubes for tubing. They have an indoor swimming pool and hot tub too. The first Summer we stayed in cabin 5. It's connected to cabin 6. Cabin 5 is nice, but not big enough for my family of 5. The master bed is only a double and that's too small for my boyfriend and I to sleep in comfortably (he's 6'5"). Otherwise, cabin 5 is okay. This Summer we stayed in Cabin 6. The master bed is a queen and it worked out much better. Two of my kids shared a room with 2 double beds and my oldest slept on a sleeper sofa. There is a big screened in porch and the perfect water front view of the lake and swim dock. The cove that Dogwood Acres is located is a nice deep, quiet cove. It is literally a 3-4 minute boat ride to Franky and Louie's or about a 12 minute boat ride to Ozark BBQ, two of my favorite places to eat on the lake. Now, you can't come here thinking it's going to be high class, ritzy Four Season style living. Instead, it's quaint, comfortable, and reminds me of how life once was as a kid at the lake back in the 80s. The cabins are clean, but rustic. They have lots of mismatched appliances, plates, glasses, and silverware to borrow. No dishwasher so if you use it, you wash it by hand. You can find most everything you need (I brought my own blender this last time). You also need to bring your own bath towels. I think it's really good for my kids and for my soul in this crazy age of electronics when kids rarely play outside anymore. Mostly we spent our time in the lake and pool. We grilled out a lot (each cabin has a grill or there is a community grill also), and we hung out at the pic nic tables and chairs all around the property facing the lake. The cabins are about a 20 minute drive to lots of good restaurants, mini golf, and Go-karting, which we did as well. I think my kids' favorite thing was roasting marshmallows. The owners, Lindy and Weldon are very hospitable and make you feel very welcome. Call Lindy and ask what to bring before you go...she'll give you the run down. Also, an amazing week to book a cabin in Dogwood Acres is the week of July 4th! That's where you'll find me the next few Summers to come! Love this place 💛…
We stayed 3 nights at Dogwood Acres in Cabin #7. We had two adults and two teenagers with us. We stocked up the fridge with groceries from Woods Grocery Store down the road and enjoyed the fire pit, swimming in the lake, fishing off the dock, and sitting in the spa inside the indoor pool area. We rented a pontoon on Monday and it ran great. It was in really good shape, very roomy, and easy to use. Only drawback was no anchor, but we understand why they don't use them (too easy for inexperienced boat users to scratch up the rental). Our bed was full size and a bit small for us, but Lindy had warned us that it would be a tight fit. The kids enjoyed the other full size bed and the pull-out couch just fine. All appliances worked great (oven, stove, microwave, fridge, coffee, toaster, TV, DVD player) and the shower had good water pressure. Cabin 7 was a bit dated but worked perfectly for our use. The current owners Lindy and Weldon were very helpful - always available whenever we needed them for anything. They described a few of the places we were interested in seeing while we were there (places to hike, eat, and boat) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Dogwood Acres to anyone who wants to spend time in the Lake of the Ozarks!…
We have always been well taken care of by Weldon and Lindy! They run a great resort! The rooms are always clean, the boat docks top notch and ice and minnows handy. There are charcoal grills to use and fish cleaning stations on the docks. It is perfect for our trip.
