This hotel is in a great location in the Forest Park / Central West End area. I like that you can walk to several local restaurants that are just a couple blocks away. The hotel is older and could use some renovation work but the employees are all great and you can tell they like to take care of their guests. I recommend this hotel and location if you need to be in or near St. Louis.
Excellent location and room and amenities were very good, especially the underground parking since it was snowing, although there was a $10 charge for parking. The only downside was the blower for the heater was so loud that it woke my wife and I up each time it turned during the night.
I stayed at this hotel in late October as part of my move back to St. Louis. The location is excellent, the staff were great, the included breakfast was very nice and my room was fine, but the friend who accompanied me was not happy with the condition of his room, especially the tiny bathroom and shower space. Most importantly, the fitness club attached to the hotel starts its day with extremely loud music that can be heard in the rooms next to it - at 5:30 a.m.!

Location was close to the Science Museum, and not too far from the Arch. The hotel is old though and the room was a bit on the darker side. Felt like it was a smoking room at some point and has been cleaned up. The hotel doesn't have a pool which was a disappointment for the kids.
I arrived in St. Louis on the 12th of October for a business event. My hotel room along with my guest was paid for by my mother - the two (2) friendly young ladies checked us in without incident. One of the rooms did not process and they asked for another card. I gave the young woman the card from my wallet to pay for the room. They issued us keys and we went along with our day!. I was under the weather so I had taken cold medicine and went to sleep early. At 1:50 AM my colleague calls me and informs me that the front desk person said we used a stolen credit card from a guest who was in the hotel to check into the property which makes no sense whatsoever -HOW COULD WE USE A CARD OF AN EXSISTING GUEST! - and then she along with a security person came to my room at 2:00AM demanding that we made a shady transaction and demanded that I come to the front desk and pay for the room- the first question that the manager should have looked if there was a time stamp to see how this was possible and the audacity to wake up a guest for something that on the part of the hotel fault should of been handled with a note, email, phone call or such. this proves again that that the secure transaction of cc information from the customer is being handled like silly puddy.
When I arrived in the lobby the person whom I have never seen in my life whose card was used was there annoyed and apparently, they were going to call the police which would have been ideal since it would have been impossible for me to steal her CC and arrive in the very hotel in which she was already a guest and charge a room. the front desk clerk, after realizing the stupidity of her actions, she began to say - "Im not blaming you or faulting you" - then why in gods name re you are you waking me up at 2:00 in the morning and forcing me to go to the front desk! for a mistake that should or could have been handled in the AM especially at no time was this my fault!
I can assure you that from this point forward I will never, ever, stay at this property anywhere in the world and I have informed our travel department that we should never used this brand or any other of its affliates again! This was not only embarrassing and humiliating this was another level of pure ignorance that was uncalled for. The following day when the "security" dude saw us return to the hotel and recognized who were are professionally he of course threw the desk manager under the bus - and apologized to me and my mother! It was too late at that point. I am DONE! this not only makes me question the professionalism of this company but also make me wonder about the security of CC and other personal date which is not being held in a secure manner! I am more than positive that IHG does not want me to go on public record discussing the questionable practices and you don't want my famous mother on local television discussing this issue. I have since cancelled my card because I am sure that your company can be responsible with this information.
