I will definitely stay at Rock Port Inn if we ever go back this way. The room was very clean and comfortable and very affordable. It appeared to have been recently remodeled and I would highly recommend!
This motel is definitely dated, but it seemed quite clean and was economical. It is convenient to reach from Interstate 29. I had a good night of rest. Breakfast is not served, except for coffee and breakfast bars.
We came into town for a family visit. Front of the place looks good, the back is scary. Shower head was full of green corrosion, tried to wash my hair in the kitchen sink and the handle came off in my hand. Box springs material was shredded, looked like there had been an infestation of something. Staff was good about our need to check out early even though we paid up front. We really appreciated this. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and by far this was the worst. Thankfully we were able to locate another place nearby.
Nothing fancy about this place. There was no phone or hair dryer in the room. We stopped on our way to South Dakota and couldnt quite make it that far. For an overnight stay in the boondocks it was not bad. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful.
Small town high school reunion, not many options. Room was clean, friendly staff. Very adequate and was all we needed or expected. Fairly close to our activities and right on interstate. Motel was used by several others and nothing bad from anybody.
Well I should qualify title.. I have not stayed in other hotels in Rock Port, but my relatives are local and this is what they recommended. The owner of this place also owns Super 8 across interstate. My room was clean, yet worn. I agree with prior reviews get room on back side away from hi way for more quiet if you want to sleep in. No blow dryers in room. Very doable.
I wish I coul have given it a 3.5 stars but TA only allows whole star choices. The hotel is relatively clean, well lit parking and attentively manned. Found nothing in disrepair. Beds are a bit hard and pillows a bit flat, but all were clean. Walls were recently painted, but amenities were pretty dated (can't remember the last time I saw a tube TV in a motel room) prior to this. That said, I did work fine, so it wasn't a problem. No noise problems or outside traffic sounds to speak off. All in all I'd say I would stay again if in the area. It's not the Ritz, but it's pretty clean, safe and quiet.
We chose this mom & pop motel due to the fact that you can park in front of your room, making it so much easier to load/unload luggage, laptop, etc. rather than pushing an unwieldy cart down a long carpeted hallway. Not "white-glove" clean, it's an older motel & a little "tired" but OK for an overnighter; we were glad to get off the icy roads & get a good night's sleep. Tube TV but lots of stations to choose from and free wifi with enough signal to check weather, stream Netflix, etc. Fridge/micro but we had to move the micro to the vanity counter because the outlet didn't work although the fridge worked fine. Pillows a little flat but mattresses were comfortable. Sink/vanity area was clean but we didn't use the shower as there were spots of black mold, yuck. The price was right & we would probably stay here again under similar circumstances but be sure and check your room first if you have any doubts. Definitely better than hitting a deer or black ice late at night !!!…
We stopped at name brand Super 8 first at 2pm. lady pretty much didn't want to get out of bed to give us a room. There was only about 5 cars in the parking lot, they couldn't have been full. So we went across the interstate to rock port inn. Called the number on the door, man answered quickly then came to the door. Very friendly. Well lit parking for our trailer and truck. Beds comfy, ac worked. Water super hot. Coffee, and hair dryer- what more can you ask for only $60 & 6 hours of sleep. Wish they could do something about the huge thunderstorm!
A little worried at first about a mom and pop hotel, but after checking in and getting in the room I was very pleased about what I found and the price I paid. Although an older hotel the room was well furnished and clean. The bed was comfortable and got a very good nights sleep. WiFi worked very well and overall I was very satisfied. Would stay here again for an overnight stay and if I had a reason too I would stay for more than one night. I would recommend this to individuals or families.
