My older son and I are avid bird enthusiasts and we were on the look out for a naturalist who could help us spot some birds during our stay at Sasan Gir. We were fortunate enough to meet author/naturalist Mr. Arvind Vaghela at the asiatic lion. Although we stayed at another resort, he was kind enough to be our birding guide seeing our enthusiasm. He took us to this beautiful river/dam in the surrounding area and we spotted about 27-28 different birds. He seamlessly spotted the birds although they were well camouflaged with the surroundings. We were so impressed with his calm composed demeanour while walking us through a leopard infested area to spot more birds there. His knowledge about the winged beings is varied and detailed and he is the go -to person for any amateur birder or an expert bird enthusiast who wants to spot some birds in Gir. (The Indian paradise flycatcher and the India Pitta were our favourites!). Added to this, he also helped my son to click photos and videos of all the birds we spotted. To sum it all up, three cheers to Mr Arvind for making our trip to Gujarat extra special!

Best experience in this diwali time. I went with my full family- brothers family and parents . This place is more beautiful than the pictures posted here. Very friendly staff- especially Mr. Vijay & Mr. daljitsing. Delicious food- our request for Jain food was served with highest enthusiasm. Home like feeling. Its bit inside from the main road but worth it. Small property - so it is close to nature. Kids love the cycling- bird viewing- swimming- games. Rooms r good n well maintained. Overall full marks. Thank you vijaybhai for wonderful family trip this Diwali.

We stayed at the Asiatic Lion Lodge, Gir in the last week of April 2022 for 2 nights. We had made the reservation through an online portal. We were very happy with our overall experience at this property. Mr Karan Singh (GM) and his team takes good care of the guests. He will personally ensure your requests and needs are met. Mr Arvind, who is a naturalist and a book writer himself, is an expert in Gir Lions. He has written a book in Gujarati on Gir Lions as well. The book is available on Amazon for purchase. He is also authorised to accompany guests on jungle safaris as a guide, so while booking your safari online you can add him as an extra adult in your booking so he can join you on your safari. The food at the property is excellent. Variety of food is available but we stuck to Gujarati and Kathiyawadi food. It was excellent. Freshly prepared as per order and served with hot phulkas', curd, buttermilk, pickle etc. The maharaj (cook) is involved himself in understanding and preparing your order. Overall a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this property for your visit. Thanks !

Stayed three nights. Had a great time... Pros... Amazing hospitality right from time of booking of rooms to check-in to booking gypsy for safaris to check out. Rooms are clustered around a patch of green grass. Spacious and with good amenities and upkeep. Tranquil atmosphere, close to nature. Even saw pugmarks of a lion during morning walk outside the lodge premises. Food is amazing esp the local sweet, freshly prepared and served post meals. Wholesome food with good flavour and variety. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Only limitation is that the lodge is located quite some distance away from the park entry gates and the road from the main road to the resort is in very bad shape. But the hospitality and ambience takea away this small sore point making it a very rewarding and relaxing stay
