I booked a reservation a month in advance and when I went to check-in (at midnight, after a wedding) I was told that they could not check me in because they ran out of rooms--but they did not give me a refund OR offer to walk me! They just said tough luck and we had to scramble to find another hotel room, only finding one 30 minutes away
The room did not smell all that fresh. I found other folk’ hair in the shower and sink. The breakfast was ok but no eggs. This disappointed us. Attendant did not keep the breakfast stuff stocked without asking.
The stay was good, but the staff was the BEST thing about our stay! The young lady who checked us in was attentive, professional, and pleasant. She truly made me feel welcome and that this would be a place of rest. (It was.) The heater in our assigned room did not work, but this young lady tried to fix it, then quickly & pleasantly arranged another room for us. What a sense of hospitality! Missour had their statewide tornado drill the morning of our check-out, and the town's warning sirens went off. The staff -- who had not been told of the drill -- worked quickly but pleasantly down the halls, beginning at the top, to get all guests to a safe place. This effort was led by a different lady, and I still picture her firm voice but ready smile as she insisted guests come to the inner, lower hallway. What a sense of responsibility! Both rooms (see room-change note above) were immaculately clean, newly refurbished, and decorated to fit the area. Parking was ample and well-lit. This motel -- unlike many during this pandemic era -- offered breakfast including some hot items. This set-up was also clean and wiped down regularly. The selection of foods was better than I expected. The coffee was very good, fresh, and hot -- both when I went early and when I went not long before check-out. Thank you. The lobby -- which also served as the breakfast area -- was a delight even though it is quite small. It was clean and in good repair; the surprise was that it had good-quality pictures of historic Macon scattered about...some even 20"x30" framed items. There were also advertisements for gems of things to do and see in this very small town. What nice local flavor that set this motel apart and invited us to stop a while and "smell the roses."…
Dirty sheets from previous guest. We had sheets in our car. Requested first floor said all first floor was out of service. Pubic hair in bathroom so disgusting. I did take pics and showed to attendant she said sorry I said by not cleaning and changing sheets you could kill someone. The housekeeper should be fired
None of the staff were wearing face masks, which they are required to do. We called in advance and was told they would all b e wearing facemasks. We wore ours. Had to wait almost 2 hors outside, sitting on the curb, because our room wasn't ready The toilet seat and bathroom doorknobs needed to be tightened, which would only take a couple minutes, but maintenance wasn't around The air conditioner was broken and we froze all night. The front desk said they were completely booked and couldn't move us to another room We were charged a "safe" fee and a "Safe tax" that they add on to everyone's bill without telling them. We don't use the safe and told them that in advance The breakfast is advertised as starting at 6 a.m. and we had to leave at 6:15. We arrived to the lobby a few minutes after six and waiting until 6:11 before having to leave. The breakfast still wasn't set up and there were two employees sitting behind the desk just talking. I asked when breakfast would be out and one of the ladies said "in a little while," and she went back talking to the other one …
