Went with my sister and a whole group of sisters. The children were always entertained. Food was great. Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful scenery amazing river access. I dont walk well so we were able to drive down on the sandbar.

Black River Lodge is one of those gems hidden in a beautiful area of the state. From the moment you start your week there, you have time to relax, be part of organized activities, and have all your food provided- no cooking required. The rooms are nice and provide the basics, including a refrigerator, but I truly doubt you'll be...

I had called Black River to get prices, the person who answered couldn't tell me availability and said someone else would need to call me. They never did. I called back and they were rude, told me 5 days later that they just "hadn't gotten to it yet". So I booked elsewhere. While we were floating my group passed by...

I love this place. My parents look us here when i was growing up every summer. Every night their are planned activities after dinner that were super fun. They have a shuffle board, archery, & mini golf also. You can also rent tubes and take half the day to float down the river that is a blast.

I had heard of the BR Lodge for years and decided to try it as my base camp for an Ozarks vacation. Great location and had a balcony overlooking the Black River. We enjoyed the Ozarks seeing Ft Davidson/Pilot Knob scene of CW battle, trout fishing at Montauk, hiking Taum Sauk to the waterfall, Johnson's Shut Ins and the Millstream...

I have been coming down to BRL since I was 5 years old with my dad. Which was in 1957. I now have my son and daughter who also bring their kids. Total of 12. I wouldn't stay any where else. Great food, planned activies for all ages. It doesn't get any better. Try it and you will agree. I'm...

When you arrive at BRL, it's like you have arrived at a place frozen in time. If your idea of vacation is a 5 star resort, this is not the place for you. If you want a week centered on good clean fun, time with family & friends, and "glamping", this is the place for you. The cabins are rustic,...

I have deep feelings about BRL after taking my children (now grown) and parents here almost annually over the course of about 10 years. And I'm the one who loves this place the most! The descriptions in the other reviews look accurate to me. The food is plentiful, tasty, and sufficiently varied, although they always have been skimpy on fresh...

Black River Lodge is a step back in time. The lodge has been family owned and run for over 50 years. The facilities are outdated and sparse but that adds to the charm of the experience. There are no TV's or telephones in the rooms and cell phone service is spotty, so families must find things to do together; like...
