I paid $400+ for a 2 BR "condo" with a kitchen. It's musty, filthy and outdated for the price. The beds are springy and uncomfortable. I'm allergic to mold and I'm already not breathing as well, so I doubt I'll get a decent night's sleep. I'm writing the review with the door open to air this place out a bit, but I don't even think it will make a difference. The view of the lake is incredible, but it's just as incredible from cleaner hotels and timeshares. I'm very disappointed because the reviews posted were very misleading. The little rug in the kitchen is stained and the other one is crumpled from being washed so many times that it's fallen apart. Aside from the view, there's nothing positive I can say. I already hate this room and am ready to check out a day early. I feel ripped off.

I love this place! I go every time I go to the lake; family trips and and grown up trips:)The staff makes you feel like family <- that might be my favorite part!!!! The food is AMAZING! Best Pina Colada on the lake! The breakfast bowl and the mac n cheese bites are DELICIOUS!!! Indoor and outdoor pools are clean and facing the water, the indoor pools have hot tubs and tvs. I'll be back in 3 weeks, cannot wait!

Arrived and met the fun and excited office staff and Sheryl who filled us in about he resort and surroundings. My lil sis and I were traveling with our pups and the resorts acceptance is the rare gem. Just awesome! Our 2 bedroom had a wood fireplace, cold AC, kitchen with dishwasher and full sized fridge (thank you!!) and a petit shower that my 330 lb body was able to use every day (whew! I was worried at first peek) The grounds allowed great views of the lake, our pups enjoyed the slopes and shaded walk when it was hot. We did rent a pet friendly pontoon for 4 hours and had a blast cruising the lake. The restaurant on-site was Bobbers and their food did not disappoint! I found I was sleeping deeply at night as well as daily naps that I am traditionally unable to do. Sadly leaving but feeling more refreshed than any vacation I can recall.

The staff was super friendly, nice and helpful. Made us feel at home. Restaurant was food okay. Loved the lake and swimming pool. Kids had a wonderful time. Enjoyed having my dogs and the morning walks around the grounds. This resort is very dated but clean and accommodating.

My 16-year old granddaughter and I just spent an amazing week at Alhonna Resort. I've been coming down here since the 80's and the place hasn't really changed all that much. It is family-owned and there hasn't been much in the way of updating, but to me that is part of its charm. Although there was a large, fairly rowdy family reunion group there part of the time we were there, we managed to avoid the crowd and only used the pool when it was not as busy. We ate at the restaurant (Bobber's) many times and everything was very good. The only downside was its irregular hours and never knowing for sure if it would be open. I understand that they are having a hard time finding employees to work there. A big shout out to Joe, maintenance/handyman and all round good guy. So friendly and so very helpful. My granddaughter got a sunburn right off the bat and Joe gave her some aloe plant leaves to use. I also witnessed him assisting many other guests with luggage, bbq grills and just about everything you can think of. My granddaughter had a blast fishing off the boat docks and caught a couple dozen bluegill over the week. She was ecstatic! What fun! We had a great time and hope to be back again next year.

A quiet resort on the lake. Spacious rooms with a great location and view. Had a family reunion on location - great for all ages. Bobbers restaurant is good as well (we only did breakfast while there) and the lounge does great cocktails at a reasonable price. The only reason not a 5 is due to the units are a bit dated - but they are very clean - these should allow a better scale for 1/2 points - would give 4.5.

Every September after Labor Day my old friends from grade school and high school get together and have a boys weekend at Alhonna Resort. The resort is reasonably priced and clean. The suites have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Nothing fancy by comfortable and clean. The restaurant is great for breakfast. So so for lunch and dinner. I guess it's inconsistent and it depends on who is cooking. The bar is comfortable and reasonably priced. I go back every year.

If you have a small trailer then I’m sure it’ll be fine for you but it was challenging for me to navigate my 34’ trailer. The driveway is so narrow that we ended up scraping up the tire well of the trailer. Also, you can’t see the ramp itself from the entrance so if you start down and then see someone coming back up (yep, happened to me) then you have to back up the aforementioned narrow driveway. If you have a larger trailer, save yourself the hassle and drive a little farther to a real launch.

Brought my teenage grandchildren down for a few days in August before school started. It's hard to get 14- and 16-year olds unplugged these days from their electronics but they had a blast playing in the outdoor and indoor pools and fishing. We booked a 2-bedroom unit facing the lake and enjoyed the view. The unit was comfortable and had everything we needed for our visit. The food at Bobber's was good, especially breakfast. The omelets were HUGE and filled with ingredients. The staff was nice and friendly. I've been coming down to Alhonna since the 90's and while it is not a 5-star hotel, it is a very nice lake resort and a good place for all, young and old.

Let me start off by saying there were many positives to this trip but so many negatives made us not want to come back again. Positives: delicious breakfast at Bobbers and friendly staff. Dog friendly! Except other dog lovers don’t pick up after their pets so I did for them all week. Nice to have a boat slip available. Pool was always clean and plenty of sun chairs. Negatives: rooms were SO dirty! Dirty as in, bugs smashed on the walls. We had non stop centipedes in our room. I’ve probably killed 20 this week! Water NEVER ran clear in our kitchen sink, even after we flushed a toilet and ran the shower. That’s gross! We couldn’t even give our dog water from the sink we had to buy bottled water for him. Beds in the room are so uncomfortable and gross! Thank god I brought our own sheets. The futon in the living room was broke and dirty! The towels were the size of a hand towels and so scratchy. Overall, if it weren’t for my family I would have left! I will pay extra next year to stay somewhere different.
