Friendly staff and quick check in. Very clean room and extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was very clean and with fresh towels. Good breakfast and good coffee. Very easy to get to from the highway.
On Saturday morning at 2 am I reserved a room at the Microtel Inn via Hotels.com. Upon arrival at Microtel they denied having my reservation, regardless of me having a confirmation showing I had booked a room. They claimed it was for later in the day, and hadn't come through their system. They sent me to call Hotels.com. Regardless of the fact that I reserved a room for that morning, I hadn't thought the time would matter. I was checking in on Saturday morning at 2 AM. Hotels.com confirmed I had a reservation, but check-in was at 2 PM, not 2 AM, so they had to cancel the reservation. Microtel wouldn't help me in any way. They wouldn't give me the same rate or assist me in any way. So, I went to Super 8 that night. They treated me very well. Were concerned, and matched the rate on Hotels.com, plus giving me AAA discount. I would NEVER book a reservation with Microtel or stay there. Days Inn, at Joplin and Quality Inn, at Joplin are my favorite places to stay, if you want something reasonable, safe, with a nice breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.
Microtels are pretty good budget hotels. This one was fine except that the room smelled of an intensely sweet deodorizer. It's smell was probably as bad as the smell it was used to cover up. The halls and the rest of the building didn't smell like this - stop using that spray in the rooms!
The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, but the quality of the room was a little disappointing. The beds were comfortable enough, the room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was not great. Breakfast was from 6-9, we got there at 8:20 and all the biscuits were gone. There was a spoonful of overcooked eggs and a little gravy. There were no oatmeal packets so I got the last bagel and the last yogurt. Nothing was restocked even though people were still coming in. Overall our stay was okay, but we probably wouldn't choose it again.
This was a VERY disappointing stay! The room was extremely tiny!! Only one person could stay here! The desk and the refrigerator were as tiny as the room. The desk chair was not an office chair, but a hardback chair that looked like it came from the dump! There was NO coffee pot, no conditioner, no lotion, no clothes bag. The air conditioner was noisy and I couldn't get it set to a comfortable level! The pillows were horrible! Bring your own! If you're the ONLY one staying, you might find it acceptable. But, if more than one, forget it! NO elevator. Only good thing, was the indoor pool. Breakfast it skimpy! The desk clerk lacks customer service skills. Book online to get better prices! They do NOT honor online prices!!! Parking lot is the other good thing. Plenty of good parking. Personally, I wouldn't stay here again. There are other motels, similarly priced, that have much bigger rooms, with good chairs, good pillows, and bigger breakfasts. The only way you'll have a bigger room is to get the suite and they are considerably higher. It is a clean hotel, so if you're looking for clean, this qualifies. Seems pretty safe, too. But, roomy? No. This will be my one and only stay here.

We do apologize for the dissatisfaction you had with the size of our single queen room. This is why we are called Microtel, as in small hotel. Our double queen rooms and our suites are larger. We do offer coffee in our vending room 24 hours a day. Sorry we do not offer conditioner, lotion or clothes bags. Extra pillows are available at the front desk. Recently we have made some changes to our continental breakfast, we now offer scrambled eggs, sausage patties and biscuits along with our usual bagels, muffins, hot and cold cereal, bananas, yogurt, coffee and juice.
We offers single queens, double queens, and suites. The suites consist of a single queen bed, sofa sleeper, mini frig and microwave. Our seasonal indoor pool is open from April 1 - Oct 30. Also we do allow …Morepets under 20 lb with a $20 pet fee per pet per night. Our continental breakfast is served daily from 6 am - 9 am, we offer bagels, muffins, biscuits and gravy, hot and cold cereal, juice and coffee. Less
