This is a prefect place to base yourself to stay while you are visiting and exploring South Eastern Tassie. It's a wonderful convict built two bedroom cottage that has been lovingly restored. There is lots of interesting brick-a-brac nboth inside and out that makes staying here a truly wonderful experience. There is a full kitchen where you have a big...

In some ways this property is showing its age, e.g. The lighting is dim, and floors uneven. If this is likely to bother you, it may not be for you. For us, this was more than compensated for by the care and thought the host had put into its presentation and comfort. The back garden is lovingly maintained, and we...

Thank you for your review of Laurel Cottage, we are trying to make one feel that they have gone back a little in time, lovely to see that you also enjoyed the garden.

We enjoyed the stay and loved the "travelling" back in the colonial era feeling. It's clean and comfortable. The bed rooms are super cozy. Kids' room is especially sweet with teddy bear welcoming exciting children. Thanks Julie for making it a home for travellers.

Lovely step back in time. The cottage is very comfortable, and walking distance to the historic Richmond Bridge and shops. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the chocolates and port. Our English friends loved reading about the history of the cottage. The only downside to our stay was the fact that there is only one bathroom and toilet situated via the...

I'm glad you enjoyed Laurel Cottage and reading about it's convict history. I understand about the bathroom, but it did't have one at all so without altering the original cottage layout, this is the best we could do.

After travelling around Tasmania in a camper van we decided to spend a night in a motel close to Hobart airport. After a quick net search we came across Laurel Cottage and thought we would give it a try instead. Located in the beautiful historic town of Richmond the cottage is amazing. Comfortable in a modern sense, it still magically...

So glad you tried Laurel Cottage instead of a motel and enjoyed your "step back in time". Julie

As host Judy says 'one night is not enough'. We overnighted last week. Cosy 1830s cottage with period atmosphere. Only for couples or family with young kids as the bathroom is built with access via main bedroom. Cosy wood fire, port and chokkies to top the evening off. Beautiful cottage garden. Cottage on same street as the oldest bridge in...

My husband and I thought this place was just beautiful. Set in an attractive garden (even out of season), this gorgeous looking cottage is fitted out to make you feel as if you've entered another world, while being very comfortable with lovely beds, electric blanket, lovely bedding and all the other things you need. We would absolutely recommend this lovely...

Owner Julie was very welcoming and has this cottage very well set up but still very much keeping the charm and feel of its former times. The cottage is very close to Richmond Bridge and a short walk to all the other attractions of the town. Julie made us feel very welcome talking time to point out features of the...

This charming and spacious old cottage is just a few metres from the picturesque Richmond village shops. It is convenient to Hobart, Port Arthur and MONA . The cottage has a cozy fire for cool evenings (even in January!). Wifi is available (ask Julie).

We arrived, having seen the pictures, so we knew it was beautiful, but it just kept amazing us. Everything was so much more wonderful than we ever expected ; the garden was glorious with flowers in bloom and lovely fragrances everywhere, the rooms had lovely extra touches like flowers, free postcards, supplies of toiletries / food that were unexpected, and...
