Hotel Caballito de Totora is located by the beach front just before entering the centre of Huanchaco. It only takes some minutes to walk to the pier. The hotel is clean and fresh with a small but nice swimming pool in the inside garden. The staff is helpful and friendly. We had an early Morning flight and the kitchen even...

After a few weeks in crowded bunkbed dorm hostels, I decided to treat myself to 2 nights in one of the luxury rooms. It was a real splurge for me, as it was 10x the price I had been paying for a night at the hostel. I am SO glad I did, though. It was incredible. The room was huge,...

This hotel is located right on the beachfront on the main strip. The rooms were great with huge beds and a jacuzzi bath. There is also a nice pool area to relax during there day. The only negative was the building work being carried out during the day but we were offered a discount due to this.

Far from the guidebook's claims of it being a boutique hotel, Caballitos de Totora is little more than a beach motel with 60's retro interior design. Our suite smelled like the men's room of the Boston Garden, the bathroom smelled so badly that I was led to skip showers and instead pursue the "dirty hippie look" of many of Huanchaco's...

This is clearly the best property in Huanchaco but that's not saying much. Lodging in general here is pretty low quality. The front desk staff are very helpful and there are rooms for people like me, light sleepers, where you don't have to face the incredibly noisy street. As is the case in all of Peru, people are fascinated with...

The best part of this hotel is its location. Right on the waterfront. My husband and I traveled here with my dad and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Dad stayed in the Matrimonial suite and we stayed in the basic matrimonial. The suite is nice because it has a balcony overlooking the ocean, but for $130/night they could...

We stayed here in Huanchaco for 3 nights and are really pleased we chose to stay in Huanchaco rather than Trujillo. The hotel is small, modern with very clean rooms, some English-speaking staff, a lovely pool and courtyard area, internet access and wi-fi and a lovely roof-top sun terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel was perfectly located on the sea...

Lots of surfing schools and much more quality waves. It is the destination of pro longboarders considering the LQS event usually in january. Enjoy Trujillo, good food, better waves.

The hotel was recommended to us, and when we arrived we liked the look of the place very much. The night receptionist was not very fluent in english, but we managed well anyway. Then he took us to our room. First he went to a room on the first floor with two beds of which only one had a mattress,...
