My friend and I are 14 years old. We got on a plane from Toronto and flew down to Ixtapa airport together to visit my grandparents and my aunt and uncle who were staying at Casa Viva with my little niece and two nephews. It was a great place for our family to gather for a week. My friend and... More

Mason, what a great review. I thank you on behalf of Elvira, Benito and Libo. Sounds like you had a great time. I will let you in on a secret, the Sleeping Porch is my favorite room, especially when it's hot as it has the best view and the best breeze. We look forward to having you and your family... More

We were joining a group of friends and family that had already booked a hoighty toighty villa about 1 km north in Play Manzanillo. As we like to send our money when we are awake, not asleep, we opted for the more modest Casa Viva. More telling then our review, was the reaction of the rest of the gang when... More

Casa Viva is the ultimate Robinson Crusoe experience--all thatched roof palapa structures and no air conditioning make this the ultimate natural beach vacation. Elvira will cook anything you request on order (order in advance) and Benito is always helpful, making sure the pool and hot tub are spotless. It's our favorite place in Troncones!

We stayed at Casa Viva for 5 days 4 nights for a pre-wedding get-together for 20 people. The property was beyond amazing (water front, pool, hottub, vegetation, casitas...etc) and way more beautiful and spacious than we had expected. It's an eco-friendly compound, and they grow all kinds of fruits on site, with which they prepare our meals with. The compound... More

clean, beautiful, comfortable, delicious food, on the beach, good surf spots a half hour drive away. You can surf right there but there are scary rocks so the ride is quite a bit shorter than the great spots that you can drive to. walking distance to the local town with a few cafes, restaurants and a couple of shops. I echo all of Casa Viva's positive reviews: the gardens, casitas, and common area are all immaculate and beautifully put together. The staff is wonderful. Elvira is a gem and her food is pure made-from-scratch deliciousness. Troncones is somewhat off the beaten path, which suited us just fine. It's quiet and low-key, but there's plenty to do. We swam, sunned,... More

Our stay at Casa Viva was incredible. We traveled there with our three kids 3, 6, & 7. The staff Elvira and Benito are amazing. Elvira is a phenomenal cook. We recommend purchasing meals as there is not a lot around without some planning or walking to access other food options. There is no ATM or grocery in Troncones so... More

Casa Viva is done so well that it's hard to imagine any improvements in design or management. Beautifully designed and made open air palapas right on the beach where the hum drowns out your busy thoughts. The fresh water infinity pool looks through coconut palms and is 20 yards from the water. It's built into the shared lounging space made... More

This property is beautiful, but be warned….if you are a light sleeper, you will not get a wink of sleep with the sound of the crashing waves…even with earplugs. The casitas are "open air" which means no glass in any of the windows, no complete walls or roof expect for the palapa. Not a lot of privacy (if you're on... More
