Coming from Northern California, we are accustomed to the beach. But Playa las Tortugas is a special place, indeed. We rented a house on the beach for our family of 6, including 2 small children and grandparents. The house was clean and well-appointed. We hired a cook for everyday but one. The food was authentic and very good. The entire...

What can I say about this piece of paradise? We love it so much we want to keep it all to ourselves and I was actually reluctant to write a review because I consider it a well kept secret and want to keep it that way!!! BUT I know it is a big thank you to write a review and...

My family along with another stayed at Villa Tortuga, Playa Las Tortugas for 1 week in Feburary. It was by far the best rental experience we have had in all of Mexico. PLT came through on all the promises. The house was well appointed and beautiful. The staff friendly and helpful. Beach was great for small children, yet there was...

If you want a place to get away from it all - this is it. No hustle and bustle, no pesky merchants on the beach, just sun, surf, sand, and tons of coconut palms. There's no better beach in Mexico - the beach is amazingly clean, the surf is perfect for swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding, and as far as...

If you have never released baby sea turtles into the ocean then you are missing out. This was an adventure far beyond our wildest dreams or imagination. The sunset release of baby turtles made one feel like a cross between Steve Irwin and Jaques Cousteau. Magraritas optional but recommended. At night or day one can walk along the beach for...

My husband and I wanted to plan a trip around helping the sea turtles. We got to help release over 1600 baby sea turtles, assist with the mothers and egg collection, and work with the staff of the turtle camp in other ways. It exceeded our expectation! The luxury of Playa Las Tortugas, and Las Palmas where we stayed, was...

I just returned from a 1 week vacation at Playa Las Tortugas and it was great. It is so far off the beaten path that we occasionally wondered how we ever found it. It has all the ammenities of a nice resort without any of the hassles or crowds. What it is not: a party location. It is a least...

I stayed in Casa Luna at Playa Las Tortugas with some girlfriends for a gals getaway. We arrived during a tropical rainstorm which was amazing as we sat and listened to the rain and thunder. Casa Luna has two master air conditioned suites, each with a king size bed, and its own bathroom. Each suite opens up to the green...

Pictures may be worth a 1000 words, but they don’t do justice to the real experience at Playa Las Tortugas. Our maiden adventure to Mexico exceeded our expectations. The weather couldn’t have been better and the housing accommodations were perfect. A pristine beach, swimming pool, kayaking, swimming and day trips to explore the neighboring communities kept us busy. On the...

We just spent one of the most amazing weeks of our lives with our dearest and oldest friends and our immediate family at PLT. The energy of the land is very powerful and we loved every minute of our stay at PLT. The spacious and uniquely decorated villas housed our families and friends for four days for our wedding. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Playas Las Tortugas is an enclave of approximately 14 stylish homes that are individually owned and most are rented when the owner is not in residence. They are set in a working coconut plantation and feature all modern conveniences. They are located between the Pacific Ocean on the West, a bird filled fresh water estuary on the North, and the coconut plantation provides seclusion from the rest of the planet - a place to relax and commune with nature - away from the world's tourists!Rental options vary from a pair of roomy duplexes to multi-bedroom villas. Maid service is provided daily and our gardeners tend the grounds six days per week. Meal preparation is optional. All homes have air-conditioned bedrooms. Groups of homes can be rented for use by groups such as yoga clubs, business groups, and wedding parties. The palm lined beach extends for more than five miles and there are no other dwellings within miles of the beach. The large community pool is centrally located and comfortable. Some beach front villas have private pools/jacuzzi. Kayak rentals are available from the on-site Property Manager. Free WiFi is provided.Guests enjoy surfing, swimming, hiking, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, relaxing, and massage. The Playa Las Tortugas property manager arranges any excursions desired, airport transportation, and the like. Small Mexican villages are frequently visited for day trips - especially on market days. These small farm towns have some signature Mexican restaurants and the six oceanfront restaurants at Platinitos can be reached in 20 minutes by kayaking across the estuary. ... more   less
