What an outstanding place to wind down and relax. No internet, no mobile phones so immediately you have to stop and take in the spectacular views, the beautiful environment that is Cape Tribulation. Amazing food, great hosts and best of all the activities are outstanding. The local guides, great Aussie blocks who no the area so well and are a...

The start of our trip to Bloomfield Lodge was rather earlier than we had expected with a fax sent to our B&B explaining we would be picked up at 6.45am. The reason for this it turns out is that Bloomfield is only accessible by boat and the tides mean that it is completely inaccessible at low tide. By the time...

We picked this place as our one nod to luxury on a long trip. It really lived up to our expectations. The room was lovely and so private, and the staff were wonderful. The food was great, and there was so much of it. (I asked for smaller portions and they were only too happy to oblige.) We also took...

This is a delightful surprise in a very remote place. It can only be reached by boat and is warm, comfortable and welcoming. The bar works on an honour system and has an excellent range of wines, beers, spirits and mixers. The rooms have the feel of an old Queenslander: lots of timber, lattice-work, verandah, mozzie-nets. There is a small...

Just returned from four nights at Bloomfield where our daughter, Karen, got married. Its every bit as good as the reviews say. It starts with a personal check-in for the 30 minute flight where you are met and transported to the river for a short trip to the Lodge. We stayed in a Queenslander room with fabulous views of the...

Just returned from four nights and they were the best four night we've ever spent on holiday. It was fantastic. Can't praise the staff enough, they got the balance just right of giving you enough information and help without being intrusive, big thanks to Ben & Courtney. Met some really nice people at the comunal dining. Great food and wine,...

We visited Bloomfield on honeymoon in June 2010 and had an amazing stay! The initial flight out to the lodge is absolutely stunning looking down over the reef as you fly from Cairns. There is complete silence as soon as you arrive are at the hotel! With a 4 day stay and a few couples coming and during this time,...

We stayed for 5 nights in January 2011 and had the most amazing time. I was so hoping this place would live up to the other fantastic reviews I had read on TripAdvisor and I'm delighted to say it did. I wont repeat other comments, suffice to say it is truly an amazing experience and I recommend you go! Highlights...

I have now been to Bloomfield 3 times and I can't wait to visit again! The location is extraordinary, the food superb, the service exceptional and the rooms are beautiful - plus the honesty bar is fab! The price you pay includes almost everything, so it really does offer value for money but I'd recommend treating yourself to a spa...
