Just about everyone we encountered was very friendly! It could use some updating here and there. We had a clubhouse room which our kids 8,4 LOVED! The king bed was very comfortable too. The room was clean with an exception of the microwave. The indoor water park did not appeal to my 4 year old much. She was to short for the slides and the giant bucket had to much force to it for her. We spent a lot of time in the lazy river and indoor pool. There is not a ton of seating inside the waterpark. Make sure whatever you bring in there can get wet. Also, if the indoor waterpark is your main draw then ask for a room near it. You have to walk outside to get to it. The buffet and pizza restaurant food were just okay. Some things at the buffet are better than others. 4 and under eat free! The service was good at both. The arcade was on the small side and games are pretty much the same price as other arcades in the area. The go kart track is small but fun. They were strict on the height and age limits. We did the indoor mini golf near the buffet and it was fun for our kids ages. They loved the fake storm with lightning and rain that went on in there. We saw the comedy show and the pet show. The comedy show was good and kept our 8 year old interest most of the time. It didn't keep our 4 years interest much. The lead singer was very good! The pet show was cute but there was more down time than anything. There is a lot of interaction with the kids in between acts which our 4 year old loved. The consession stand popcorn was very good! Overall if ever in the area again we would most likely stay again.

The show was good as usual, but the problem was that the e-mail that they sent out on Sept. 22nd said the Area Appreciation was $10.00 tax included. When we got there they charged tax $1.34 on the $10.00. When I asked about the tax I was told that it had changed. How can you send out an e-mail on the same day and it changed. They are always cheating the SEASON PASS HOLDERS also. we had been SEASON PASS HOLDERS for years, but because of Covd we did not go after February. In Sept I stopped to see if we could roll over our passes, I Silver Dollar City did. I was told that I had to turn in both my wife's and mine right then and they would contact us in Jan. 2021. They have never offered us any deal as of today, except a new pass for over $100.00. A friend of ours also saw only two shows in Jan. or Feb. and we he went to get his new pass it cost him $69.00 plus tax. That is saying that it cost him and us $34.50 for each of the two shows that we saw in 2020. We saw DOWN HOME COUNTRY ON WENESDAY Sept. 22, 2021

I took my wife and our 3 boys (12, 9, 5) on a quick weekend getaway before school started. After seeing an amazing summer package deal, I needed to get us to this resort. We typically stay at the chain hotels, but wanted to take advantage of this and check out a new place too. Overall, we were greatly impressed with the resort and my boys (as well as my wife and I) really enjoyed it too. We arrived on a Friday morning and it was great they are able to get you a "pre-checkin" so you can get your package vouchers and wristbands for the water park but not quite the room just yet. So we got all that and it was actually off to the Fun Spot for some underage casino gambling (aka arcade) action. Included in the package are two free pizzas from the pizza and salad buffet right next to the Fun Spot. So after playing the underage casino skill games, mini-golf, Go-Karts and pizza (all included in the package deal), we were off to the water park where you have unlimited time during your stay. Overall the water park isn't bad. It's got some water slides for small and big kids and an outdoor area geared toward the little ones. The body slides, especially the blue one, are great. Blue one is a good one for thrill-seekers. I did notice the place really could use a "tune-up." I would normally go so far as to say a "complete makeover" but for now, it is showing its age and some wear and tear is happening. There were a lot of areas of rust and paint peeling from the bottom of the pools and lazy river. There is a lot of water damage in the men's restroom. Heads up there, are no changing rooms at the water park. There's just a bench right inside the restroom entrance and rinse-off showers outside. Yes, you can use your hotel room as a changing room, but those who do not plan to stay, or cannot get access to their room, cannot have a real changing room with showers. In addition to water damage in the ceiling, restrooms were on the dirtier side too. I'm sure it gets cleaned frequently, but it really doesn't show it. I also felt the water was a little chilly and could have used a few more degrees to ease the "chill shock" when you first enter the water. So the condition of the water park gets a demerits from me and hopefully they will find time to do some fixing up and some "TLC" before it's too late. I also feel they need to add a new slide since they only have one "thrill slide." On the hotel side, they have the old school "motor inn" style of accommodations available. Many rooms have been upgraded to a "clubhouse room." These rooms are great for families with two kids, or two kids and a third on a roll-away or air mattress. They actually built a little "clubhouse" within the room and put in a bunkbed set and a TV! So our boys really loved that. Otherwise, it is a very standard "motor-inn" type of room. Our clubhouse room was clean and upgraded to the best of their ability, but it too is showing its age. The walkway areas really could use some tweaking and cleaning up too. And finally, they have the music hall onsite which also houses the awesome buffet! Included with our package was admission to two shows of our choice. We chose the Country Jubilee and Amazing Pets. The Country Jubilee, while overall family-friendly, does not cater to kids below, let's say, 12. There is a bit of adult humor scattered throughout. But the kids did love the Amazing Pets show. Really cool how Valeree and his wife and daughter have put their entire lives into training these pets to make a great show out of it. The buffet, while a tad pricey, is awesome. You name it, odds are they have it. I haven't seen this much food since my wife and I went to an all-inclusive resort in St. Lucia! See my review in July of 2015. But, with that one price, you can definitely get your money's worth with the amount and variety of food available. Great service from the floor servers who were very attentive the whole time. Overall, I highly recommend Grand Country Resort. We got great service all the way around and had an amazing time when we were there. Just need some tweaks in the water park and the hotel side and it'll be even better.

The kiddos loved it! My son and nephew age 10 and 11 had so much fun! They had so much fun at the indoor water park and the Amazing Pets show. And Darlene at the front desk was the most helpful and nicest person you'll meet! We will be back for sure!

Had the King club room next to water park. Really enjoyed the room and was very fun for the grandson. However the kids section of the water park is dangerous. Slides and surfaces have rubbed off and are not safe or appealing. With some reinvestment, this property could once again be the go to place for families. Did not eat on site so cannot comment on the food.
