Stayed overnight Nov 8, 2012. Breakfast was good, quiet hotel, muliple pillows and a very comfortable mattress. Very clean room with big bathroom. One of the best hotels we have stayed . Right off the highway and easy to get to. Would stay there again!

As this was a last minute trip, rooms were hard to come by in Gulfport for our stay. As we normally try to stay in 3-star locations (or higher), having to settle for the Comfort Inn, I thought, was going to be a problem.

My fears, fortunately, were unfounded. The Comfort Inn in Gulfport was a surprisingly clean property that had comfortable rooms. It included a refrigerator (something NOT seen in many 3-star places), coffee maker, a TV and a decent bathroom.

Features not normally reported on but I noticed: the A/C worked without fail. "Big deal" I hear you say. Well, with the temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and with a crushing humidity to boot, our room became a reliable sanctuary against the heat. I also noted that the walls in our room were sound-proofed to the point to when we called the room next door, we did not hear the phone ring in the other room. And with this motel being in the approach path of the Gulfport Airport, we barely noticed any overflights. So there was no lost sleep.

My wife commented on how comfortable the mattresses on the beds were.

A breakfast buffet was available, but it is the standard you see in many motels nowadays: not bad, not great. Unremarkable. But there is a Krispy-Kreme right next door!!

There are no elevators in this two story motel. So if you have a disability, I recommend demanding a lower floor.

We did have a few ants in our bathroom (probably trying to get away from the heat!). When we reported it we were given a can of bug spray. They were more of a minor nuisance than any real problem.

But in the end, after we came back home, we asked ourselves if we would stay at the Comfort Inn in Gulfport again. The answer was: it would automatically be placed on our short list of choices. A conditional YES, true, but a yes nonetheless.

All the good parts . . . the room was clean, the beds were good, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, the rooms were reasonably priced. The bad part? If we hadn't brought our own "mobile hot spot", which we get from our cell phone carrier, we'd have had no internet. The motel was, I believe, mostly full to capacity, and the internet capacity was exceeded, both in the evening, and early the next morning. Aside from that, (and the fact that we talked to some people who were very unhappy that the pool was closed), it's a very nice place to stay.

Clean and comfortable. The front reception clerks were friendly and helpful. The weather was not the best when we were there, so going to the beach was out of the plans.
We had been traveling and laundry needed to be done. Facilities for laundry were clean.
Breakfast attendant was friendly and kept tables clean and supplies refreshed.

Our room was neat and well arranged. We left our room for a lunch on our second day, and left a cell phone and charger in our room in a night stan drawer. Upon our return we discovered that some one with an access key entered our room and removed the cell phone and the charger from the night stan. We tried to get help with this matter from the comfort inn staff at that location. But they stated they could be of no assistance. we suggested calling the local athorities with nagative results. we found ourselves with no avenue for help in this matter. We had to shorten our stay at the location , because of our inability to recieve communication from our homebase of opperation.

We had a bath tub faucet shoot off the wall, almost hitting me in the knee while trying to take a shower at (comfort inn,1034 beach blvd, gulfport ms 39507). We were leaving this morning.
I asked if they new about this problem? They said,yes... (thought it was fixed) I asked for my bill to be reduced. Since my girlfirend could not shower.....
They said they could do nothing until the manager comes in. I asked for the manager arrival time? Could be a few minutes or later. I asked for a precise time of arrival; as I'm going to leave for another state, now!
More stalling and no idea of managers arrival time. {Not customer firendly},da!
I then said to the staff member; would you except this treatment if you stayed at a Comfort Inn or another hotel. They said, no.....
Then why, am I raising my voice and and receiving such treatment????
She then found the managers number and called( if it was the manager). The manager said she could reduce my bill only $12.00.
I guess they assumed that was fair; I laughed! I will never stay there again. (Rude Interior)What happened to customer care?

This was the worst experience at a hotel ever! Upon check in, the lady at the desk was so rude and unfriendly. Early the next morning, my husband left to get breakfast and while he was gone, this older man entered my room (which was locked). I jumped up in bed and starting asking him what was going on, and why is he at my door and how did he unlock my door, etc. The man said that he was told that we checked out already (which we werent checking out for a few more days), and that he was there to clean the room. The man was not wearing a uniform and never knocked at the door. Thankfully, my husband was walking up to the room at the same time the guy was at my door. My husband made him leave and seeing how frightened i was, we decided to contact the front desk. We asked to speak with the manager and that was the worst possible thing we could have done. The manager never tried to correct the situation, or apologize to us, or offer us a free nights stay, or anything. Instead, he said that it must have been a mistake and there was nothing he could do about it. When i explained to him how upset i was, he told me if i don't [--] like it, to get out. The manager cursed at me and i hung up the phone on him. We immediately packed up everything and went to check out. My husband told the rude lady at the desk to get the manager and when he decided to show his face, my husband told him how unsatisfied we were with the stay and that he heard him cursing at me and that we wanted to leave immediately. The manager was extremely ugly with my husband and told me to shut up, etc. I would never recommend for anyone to stay here. The manager and the rude female should be fired.

I am VERY satisfied with this property although the pool was closed for maintenance. The water was clear in the pool so maybe it had chemicals added recently. The service was great paying attention to my needs, rooms were clean, and the beds were actually comfortable. I will use this hotel in the future.

Room decor outdated and can use renovation. Carpet in room was old and "sticky". Left a weird residue on my feet after walking around barefoot for a while. Don't even want to think about what made it that way. I was so grossed out by this, I stopped walking around the room barefoot.

They ran out of non-smoking rooms, so I had to stay in a smoking room, which just reeked. I've stayed in smoking rooms before, and they don't necessarily need to smell bad. The staff just needs to air out the room when the smoker checks out.

Between the sticky carpet and smokey smell, my stay was pretty disappointing (luckily it was brief). The worst hotel I have stayed in quite some time.

Its slim picking in this area due to hurricane Katrina, but other places are starting to open back up. If you need to stay by the airport, try the Hampton Inn, which is pretty nice. I would have stayed at the Hampton Inn again, but it was booked up.
