Detailed Reviews
Let me start out by saying, we love The Island View. Our go-to favorite when traveling to a casino. We visit as often as we can for the last 2 or 3 years since living 8 hours away. We have stayed in the North Tower and Beach Tower. Food is good in the restaurants, but the buffet has a hard time keeping food hot. It's always a hit or miss with the buffet. Slots offer a great variety of anything you want to play. Win some, lose some. It's a casino. Always a great variety of promotions to be involved in. Have always found the Beach Tower to be clean, but the North Tower needs some work. The last two times I stayed in the North Tower, my feet and socks were dirty from the carpet. The carpet needs to be removed all together. I'm including a pic of my flips that I only wear in my hotel room. They have never been worn outside of the room. This is necessary so you don't track the dirt and lint into your bed off your feet from this carpet. We enjoy this casino very much and will always return. I sincerely hope that vacuuming the carpet in the hotel room becomes a more standard practice or replacing the carpet all together with something like a wood looking linoleum occurs. These flips are washable, so I was able to rinse the dirty lint off and pack them away before leaving. Again, this is not the first time this has occurred, so it is not a one off. It's just reached a point where it is getting worse and needs to be addressed.

We appreciate the time you've taken to let us know about your visits. We are pleased to see your comments about our Beach Tower. We do have the most dining and drinking choices on the coast. We understand your concerns about our buffet. We do our best to ensure the food at our various stations are fresh and hot for your dining experience. We'll pass your concerns on to the appropriate department for review and discussion. We'll also do the same regarding your concerns about the floors in the North Tower rooms. In the event you check in to another room on the North side, please let the the front desk know immediately if this were to happen again. In the meantime, we'll let our hotel staff know about this concern. We sincerely appreciate the fact that you drive such a distance to visit with us, and we thank you for your loyalty and patronage. Please know that on any of your future visits you can contact our management for any issues you encounter, or you can call our Guest Relations Department. We;ll do our best to address that issue quickly. Thanks again for your comments, and we look forward to serving you again on your next visit.

Island View is a semi-new old casino, meaning they have opened up a new tower across the main drag right on the beach.. The old part allows smoking except for the restaurant and you are hit with that smell the moment you step in the front door. If you check into the new tower, you have arrived in a smoke free environment with a smaller selection of slots and tables and eating. The new tower also has much better rooms and the drawback to staying there is that it is a short walk over to the buffet area and some of the better places to eat. Both towers have valet parking and outside self parking areas as well.
I did say it is a casino so a little about the overall value of holding one of their player cards. This place values its customers and if you play a nominal amount, I can almost guarantee you will have an email for a future visit with a reduced or free room and some free slot play. It is a better value than anything I have found in the surrounding area.
The buffet could use some improvement but most people have reduced price coupons and are there for all you can eat crab legs.I will give a big nod to the pastries, pies, and cakes, which t0 me are a better attraction than the crab legs. There are numerous restaurants nearby and if you have a hankering for Mexican food try the El Agave. Plain decor and great food
Should you get tired of donating in the game rooms, the Island View is also affiliated with the Wind Dance golf course, which is a nice course at a fair price..
Overall, if you can put up with a little old mixed in with the new. There is enough gambling, enough restaurants and enough appreciation for your patronage to make you coming back on a regular basis.

Thanks for the great feedback about your experience at Island View Casino Resort. We are always happy to see that the many, many promotions we put out for our guests are being enjoyed and used for their value with our many venues! We have something for everyone's gaming budget....We always follow up with our guests with great offers for return visits. We had so many of our guests over the years request a smoke free environment, and we opened our smoke free Beach Tower. Then, we had many guests request a smoke free casino. Our owners and management took note, and built our Beach Casino to accompany the Beach Hotel. While we do recognize there is a mixture of the "old" versus the "new", we have many guests who are loyal to each. We always want to do better for our dining choices, and the buffet is a large dining venue. Please let us know how we can improve on our choices, and we do agree the desserts are very amazing. Also, we agree with you on dining at El Agave. Many of us love the great food and great service we get there. Windance is our golf course, and our guests love it! We're glad to see that you enjoyed playing there. Again, thanks for taking time to provide your feedback, and we do look forward to serving you again on your next visit.

So my wife and I got a whole package upon buying our rv to come to island casino and resort. So during my two day stay here here my review . The front desk was helpful and friendly, the room was nice but wasn’t even dusted . You could hear hallway noise at all times during the day and night. The bathroom was super nice with a huge walk in shower . The beach is within a very short walking distance and the ability to have a smoke free casino and hotel area was very nice . I did notice that the buffet staff with the expectation of the wait staff , cashier, and and manager seemed they didn’t like their job and weren’t friendly to the point my wife and I just got food someplace else. I contacted the Manager on one person at the buffet because she acted inappropriate and the manager did take care of the issue. I also will say that the Buffett wasn’t the best at certain times but the Choices for desert was great . One housecleaning item I seen was in the lobby of the 16th floor around the smoke alarm was a huge pile of dust collected . Not only was this just gross but a safety hazard (see photo). My biggest take away for this place is working on customer service and cleaning.

Booked 12 days in Jan 2022 a month in advance and made scooter reservations for each day of my stay. I was clear with them that I am disabled and would need a scooter to get around . I was assured my reservations and scooter reservations were in place.
Arrived 1/4 and was told at 3pm my room would not be ready until much later that night between 8:30-10:30 pm, much later I was finally offered a different (less than desirable room) exhausted from driving out of state I took it.
My room was dirty had previous occupants' trash in the can, smelled moldy and smoky (nonsmoking room) and had no soap, shampoo or toilet tissue.
I called front desk to tell them my room was dirty and ask again about my reserved scooter and the employee hung up on me.
Hours later after trying to play in the casino and realizing I could not get around without the scooter I went to front desk to again check on my reserved scooter.
This time I was told they had no scooter reservation from me and one would not be available. I told them I would have to cut my trip short without a scooter as I could not access areas of the casino or restaurants without it.
Each time I tried to get an employee to help me with the dirty room or scooter they were rude. I asked for a corporate email and was told an individual owns the casino and he is not interested in getting emails from you, by the assistant manager at the front desk.
I managed to play at the closest machines a few hours and spent about 1k then left the casino and went to my room because a drunk couple were yelling and fighting in the casino and the security guards refereed the fight instead of making them leave. As an older disabled woman, I felt very unsafe.
I asked many times over the 18 hours I was there to speak to a manager and was never able to do so. The entire time I was at the hotel/casino there were unused scooters sitting in the front desk lobby with reserved signs on them not being used.
I was clear about my need for a scooter when I booked the 12 days and was assured one would be available.
I got a good meal to go from CG grill the only restaurant I could walk to and took it to my dirty room.
During a covid surge I expected my room to be clean and trash free and that was not the case.
I cut my trip short after 18 hours and headed home since I could not access much of the property without a scooter and grew weary of rude employees.
The customer service at this location is horrendous. Mistakes happen and I understand that but the rudeness of the employees was just too much, they literally hung up on me when I tried to tell them my room was dirty.
I will schedule my next trip with one of the Biloxi casinos a few miles away as this one was just unacceptably dirty and unorganized with terrible customer service

even when booking a month or more in advance, and being at "V" card level, you never know if you'll get the room you booked. Probably about 30% of the time we are told that the type of room we booked was unavailable. You would think a loyal customer of several years who bets enough to earn their top level card would get priority on the type of room they book, especially when it's booked well in advance.
The food comps are sparse. I can make a grand woth of bets and lucky if I earn two buffets. A competitor is nearby gives me two buffets a week, $100 a week at fine dining, two sunday brunches, and $50 or more aweek at the oyster bar regardless of my betting totals, plus my host sends me a letter each month with another 4 buffets or $125.00 for fine dining.

We just purchased a home in southern Mississippi, and needed to make a pre-move visit to the area to set up the move. We opted to stay a the IslandView Casino Beach tower for its location and amenities. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful on check-in, and all of our encounters with the hotel (and casino) staff were cheerful. Our room was located on the fourth floor, and was well appointed. Housekeeping does a great job of keeping the room stocked and clean. The beds are comfortable, and the environmental controls are easy to use and work well. There are multiple restaurants in the facility. I would certainly recommend staying at the IslandView for anyone visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast for it's amenities and location

I have been playing here for almost 20 years. It has gone way down. I visited for 3 nights over the weekend after a 2 year hiatus and won't go back. The entire staff, from hotel check in to players club personnel to pit boss were not the least bit friendly. The pit boss, Jim, was a complete jerk! We had 3 dealers with pleasant personalities, but they were the exception to an overall very rude staff. Tyler, Kevin and Matthew, we had a blast with you guys. Cathy, work on that attitude and your tips will increase. Jim, find a job outside of customer service because that ain't your cup of tea.
The buffet never changes. Same meal for lunch and dinner every day with crab legs thrown in at night. Boring and not great. C & G grille is awful. Several years ago, they had a cajun seafood pasta dish and a filet mignon that were fabulous. Neither is even on the menu anymore. I had a $100 food voucher to blow so my husband got the mixed grill and all of the meat was overcooked. I got the chicken fettuccine alfredo and the eggplant beauvoir. The alfredo was too garlic-y to enjoy. The eggplant beauvoir was just not good at all. We also got a seafood dip that was too salty to enjoy. The only thing they still have that's good is the seafood gumbo on the soup and salad bar.
SKIP THE SLOTS!!! The machines are so tight, it's unreal.
Side note: I ranked the value as excellent because I had a travel package that included 3 free nights, unlimited buffets for 2 for 4 days, $125 travel reimbursement.

We appreciate our guests who take time to let us know about their experience while staying at Island View Casino Resort. We regret that your experience was not good, in fact, we are disappointed that you encountered so many areas that were less than what we expect. Usually we have so many of our guests compliment our many associates. We regret that the individuals you named who were less than friendly are not what we represent. We appreciate the compliments you've given to 3 of the other dealers you mentioned. We take note of your dining issues. We would encourage our guests who would like to see specific changes to our menus send suggestions to our Guest Relations Department. We are always open to new ideas for dining options, we look at those suggestions, and where possible make changes. We encourage all of our dining guests to let the manager of any of our restaurants know if they have been served something that doesn't meet their expectations. You may be assured they will take care of your concerns. We announce on a daily bases many winners in both slots and table games. We hope you'll give us another opportunity to turn those issues you encountered around and that you'll have a great stay on your next visit.

If you intend to stay at the Island View Hotel & Casino in Gulfport Mississippi do not bother to look up the room and it's amenities. Let me tell you what I just experienced. First we were told that we could not use the free days at the Beach Side Hotel and had to use the old hotel across highway 90. We were booked into that hotel for 3 days. We were put into a room with such a beautiful view of the Parking Garages somewhere in the back of the building. When I walked in I tried to wash my hands and the sink started to fill up as the drain was plugged up. We then were shocked to see that they provided two pillows per bed only and those pillows were no larger than throw pillows you would use on your furniture. My neck is still sore from that experience. I then looked to lock up some valuables and discovered NO SAFE. The bottom of the doors had been badly chipped and needed painting. The lighting was terrible. The sockets in the bathroom were installed upside down. At this point we began to feel as if we had entered some dark ages place which immediately had put a bad view of the whole vacation in our minds. This was not the end of the horror. The beds were all lopsided and leaning to one side. Then the fun really began with the tub shower. (No walk in shower). We turned the water on and it seemed to Not be getting HOT. We finally got the water to become Luke Warm and at times it would go absolutely Cold. At this point we were ready to walk out but could not as our next reservation was at the Scarlet Pearl which is a wonderful modern hotel that provided everything new, clean, and inviting. This whole situation has turned me against ever staying at the Island View Hotel again. They like to talk a good game but did not and cannot deliver on any of their claims. Yes they give you some comp nights because they never would be able to get someone to pay for anything like what we were given. As good customers of the Island View Casino I am disheartened and disgusted that they would think that what they provided us with is OK. It is not ok and anyone that does venture to this hotel you should think again about any of the other places first, Beau Rivage, Palace, Golden Nugget, Hardrock, all are a 100% upgrade to what you will be getting at the old Island View hotel. When will the Island View ever upgrade this ancient property?

I wouldn't recommend coming to this casino. They will not open blackjack tables for the guest. It's Friday night at 8 PM and they have only one $10 table and one $50 table open on the non smoking side. A lot of people are waiting in line to sit at the tables which only allow three people per table. They have two other areas with plenty of tables but they refused to open. They gave us free table play but you can't use them because there are no open tables. The hotel room also had hair on the bed and the floor. The Palace, Beau Rivage and Scarlet pearl were much more accommodating.

Since our other casino resort decided post-covid to charge its loyal customers (my friends and family had been going for over 15 years) we decided to try Island View Casino and Resort. You have two towers to choose from. Beach side is non smoking and has its own casino. The other tower is over the smoking casino.
Rooms were a little smaller than our other place but let’s be honest ... who spends much time in the room other than to sleep 😂. Rooms were very clean and beds so comfortable. Amenities, each room had its own safe, mini fridge and single cup coffee maker. Coffee maker uses the little single packs (not k-cups) but of course you can always get more single packs from front desk/housekeeping.
What an great change!! This place is more modern, very clean, and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable! Great experience.

No hot tub at the pool, but the pool temp was above 90 degrees, like a bath tub. Ive never upgraded to a jacuzzi room anywhere Ive stayed, as I never trust the cleanliness of them.
Hello!
As Gerald mentioned, we do not have a fitness center on site. Ironically enough, the Blue Shell Spa is located where the Fitness Center used to be before we remodeled it. Thank you for your question, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Hello!
Both pools opened this season (2023) on May 5th. They are open daily from 10am – 7pm (weather permitted).
Please keep in mind, not only are our pools 21+ only, but the entire property as well. This includes, but is not limited to, all restaurants, hotel rooms, both pools, and of course either casino floor.
If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us at 228-314-2100 and one of our Call Center Representative will be more than happy to assist you.
