This hotel is a great place to stay if you are looking for A beach Day or two. The Sand is white and the water is shallow. The down side is you have to look at the port but it isn’t horrible. We were the only people on the beach for most of the time. It’s an easy drive to the casinos for entertainment.

Location: The hotel is on the outskirts of Gulport right next to Long Beach, so there is not a lot around it but a quick drive to LOTS of great restaurants and attractions.
Beach: The beach is easily accessible and has beautiful sand. The water is not deep, and there are no waves, which makes it great for kids. Part of the ocean experience for me is hopping waves while swimming. It was not that kind of beach.
Pool: It was very hot during our stay and the pool was warm. We still enjoyed it. It's on the smaller side, but we never felt crowded. During high traffic times, it could be a bit loud at the pool, but all in all the pool area was very enjoyable. We spent a lot of time here.
Service: Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The art of customer service is alive and well here!!!
Breakfast: One of the great things about Holiday Inn Express is the free hot breakfast. Selections were good and kept full. The lobby had plenty of seating and offered a beach view while eating, which our family enjoyed very much.

We made this hotel our stay for its location to the beach. The room was nice and the staff was courteous and friendly. The pool was too small and too full of kids to even enjoy the area around the pool. The section of beach in front of the hotel was closed due to nesting birds. Which ended up being irrelevant considering all the BEACHES in the area were closed due to some blue green algae or something so no swimming period. Could have been bad timing. Next time we will try somewhere else. Great for bird watching.

The room was a disaster when we checked in, I had to complain and get another room. The first room smelled horrible and there were stains all over the beds and furniture. The second room was a bit better but was still not worth the price. We paid for the the breakfast and were not told on check in that it was not available the offered me a muffin instead of the full breakfast as was on their website. I took a shower and was about to dry off and found that the towel had blood stains on it. Never again will I stay here.

First, I would like to apologies for the issues that you had during your recent stay with us here at Wingate. He pride ourselves on give our guest a clean comfortable stay and we obviously dropped the ball on yours. I would like to talk to you further on these issues if you would call me directly at the hotel. As for the Breakfast we are not able to open our Breakfast bar Buffet yet per our Brand and local requirements due to COVID-19. We do offer "On The Go Bags" with different choices and several other items that are prepackaged for our guest. We do hope to have our Free Breakfast back soon but until them we have to follow our Brand and local rulings. Again, please contact me at the property directly and I hope to hear from you soon, so that I can make this right for you.

Great hotel close to I-10. Across from the beach. Lobby is on the second floor. The staff was very friendly and recommended a place for dinner. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet was good. The usual, waffle bar, eggs, bacon, sausages, biscuits and gravy, and to my surprise grits! Also cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt milk, and even chocolate milk for the kids. oatmeal, coffee, tea, juices. Bagels, toast, muffins, boiled eggs. Nice stay. The only complaint was that the elevator broke when we were checking out so we had to carry our luggage down two flights of stairs. The staff worked on it and had it running again as we were leaving. I would stay here again.

Nice location across from the beach. Good price includes breakfast.
It just needs a new coat of paint, maybe new room chairs, and it would be great if a hotel on the beach had vinyl plank floors or something hard.
Overall I’d stay again. Just needs an update.

Hotel is across the street from the beach, crosswalk in front of the hotel for easy access. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Rooms are very roomy, 4 people in our room and we had plenty of space. Our favorite place in the hotel was the lobby, nice couches and chairs to sit in and enjoy the view.

We were part of a bus tour group so had no choice of hotels. What a great choice this hotel was. Our room was nice. Comfortable pillows with "firm" and "soft" embroidered on the pillowcase edge. Another amenity that took us by suprise was a night light in the bathroom. Buffet breakfast was available starting at 6:30 a.m. with good coffee and a pancake machine instead of the usual waffle iron. The pancakes were a good size with a hint of vanilla flavor. If we ever pass through this area on our own, we'll know where to stay.

This is a hotel in a great location. I have been here twice and this last visit will be my last. I made a reservation through the Priority Club site for a king room with roll in shower due to my wife's disability. I guaranteed it with a credit card and received a confirmation stating roll in shower. When I arrived i was told my room was not available. I argued with the desk person and even showed her my confirmation. She made it sound like it was my fault and that the hotel was completely full and would not even look. Because it was late, we decided to try it for one night and go home the next day rather than stay the two nights we had booked The room was awful! The toilet was very low (lower than standard and much lower than comfort level), The shower was missing grout and the tub was worn. The AC was noisy and the thermostat did not work. When I sat on the couch, I sank! My wife could only sit in the office chair and I had to hold it so she could get in and out. My wife could not get into the tub, and used the second floor public restroom since it had ADA approved toilets. We were very happy to leave the next morning. No one asked if we were OK or why we were leaving. No one cared! I contacted the hotel management and received an apology letter, but that was all. They didn't even buy a stamp since it arrived by email. Not what I expected from Holiday Inn who I have been loyal to for many many years. If you have a disability requiring accommodation, look elsewhere, or make sure you call the hotel several times prior to arrival, even if you have a guaranteed reservation. They will give your room away!

I stayed there for about two weeks . The whole staff from maintenance and housekeeping to the front desk staff were great. The rooms were neat and clean. If you're ever staying in Gulfport you should check this place out, they'll treat you like family!

Can't answer that though I think it;s sort of standard--hbo, c max, etc. I only watch Fox News, baseball, C Span and some History channel. Some public tv but rare.
Island View Casino is the nearest. 1/2 a mile straight down Beach Blvd, also on the coastline. It is a 10 min walk and I believe they have free shuttle services to and from as well.
There are more places to choose from in the Gulfport area.
