Detailed Reviews
The only thing I found good at this hotel was the staff. I had to pay casa for a pre-paid room because they were changing management. The card reader wasn't working nor was the printer. I finally got a room and noticed that it looked clean after a long drive, it wasn't. The showerhead had only one setting and had no pressure. The only other redeeming factor is that it is right next door to the Krispy Kream Donut shop. I would rather take my chances sleeping on the beach than get a room here again.

I am a current employee of Motel 6 Gulfport who will be leaving after this week to start a new job. I have been working nights here for nearly a year and therefore want to share some information from my experiences for you. First, remember when choosing Motel 6 that it is known for its low price, not its first class amenities. Also remember that hotel prices are based off of the local area, which is why Motel 6 prices in Gulfport may be higher than other places you have traveled. Many people complain about the wifi costing 3 dollars, Motel 6 does this so that people who do not use the wifi are not being charged for it. Anywhere that offers "free wifi" has simply added the cost of wifi to your rate or purchase, whether you use it or not, remember economics 101, "There's no such this as a free lunch". Motel 6 doesnt do this, instead they only charge guest who are going to use it, which is fair. Another thing, if someone calls your room claiming to be the front desk and requesting credit card information, hang up the phone. It is a scam, no matter where you are staying. As far a safety and security, I have personally had to break open a door on this property before, even with a crow bar it was still difficult and very loud, believe me, no one is going to sneak into your room at night or something. Also, keep your doors locked, there are no cameras on property, but you should do that anywhere you go. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful and will help you to the best of their ability. Housekeeping staff is good, though there are a few who have done a bad job and we quickly correct those issues, hence the reviews on how bad our rooms are. The rooms are average, you get a bed, tv, towels, table, and shower. There are no microwaves or fridges and myself and some of the other staff feel we should have that, but its not our call. There is free coffee in the lobby in the morning. It can get crowded on the weekend but during the week its about half full so there's plenty of room and not so much noise. There is an airport nearby but planes rarely land at night here. I would not recommend this hotel for a multiple night stay, but if you need a cheap, comfortable room to lay down in for a night, this is a good stop. Walmart across the street is 24 hrs, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the Island View Casino is about 3 miles away and they have a shuttle that will pick you up. I hope this helps.

Stayed here while attending Family Weekend for my brother's Seabee Unit deployment from the Navy base. Traveling with my wife and daughter, it was a long drive from St. Louis. We were glad to finally get here. The room was small and felt pretty cramped with two beds in it, but we knew this when we booked the room. The room was cool, considering how hot and humid it was, clean and very comfortable. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very nice and helpful when we had questions or concerns. The air conditioner in our room seemed to have trouble keeping up with the hot and humid days but made the room feel like a meat locker after dark. The pool was nice and clean with lots of seating, even though we only got to use it once, what with all we had to do that weekend. Plus, the pool was crowded most evenings and nights as it was apparently THE place to be. Overall, we would stay here again if we found ourselves in Gulfport. You should give it a try.

During the covid pandemic you would think the rooms would be extra clean, but this was the least hygienic room I have ever stayed in. The drunk woman who lives in the room next to the one we stayed in invited herself inside our room to our horror. ( again this is during the peak of covid) we could not get out of there soon enough. Never again.

Checked in went to room. Room wasn’t cleaned so had to go back downstairs and get another room. Second room had a pit bull outside the room door at pool entrance that would bark every time someone walked by. No towels in room. Crumbs were left on counter. Mirror has writing in it. If I hadn’t been road weary from over 12 hours traveling I’d have immediately left for a nicer hotel.

We booked a non-smoking room, but was given a smoking room with a key that would not open the door. Went back to office, and was given a new room, told them we ordered a non smoking, but again we were given smoking room.. Key card worked after a couple tries, so we kept the room, but was dirty, molding, and looked like they never cleaned it. It was obvious there was no Sanitizing & extra cleaning going on here or Covid 19. Room had black mold on bathroom door frame, and air conditioner vents were covered in black filth. Ceiling also had black spots on ceiling and was in need of repair. Lampshades had spots of something splattered on them, door had black prints from a boot, sink was dirty, with long hairs, and tub had black dirt & mold in shower. Bedspread had burn holes in it. And the swimming pool water was BLACK! It was open, but nobody was in it. Water was completely black, looked like oil. Place is totally disgusting, and only reason we stayed there was because we were traveling with pets on way to Texas. Overpriced, we were charged $60 for this dirty disgusting place. Travelers BEWARE! Do NOT stay here!

I really didn't want stay at motel 6 when I arrived at the Gulf port, MS location because there were customers in the lobby complaining about their room. I was exhausted from a 14 hour drive so I didn't want to risk getting back on the street driving. As I was about to walk out of the lobby, Tina intervened immediately. She said "excuse me sir, but I can tell you right now as red as my eyes are, it wouldn't be wise to drive again anymore tonight." she said contrary to what I heard the guest saying that was before me, they have some very clean and nice rooms. I was convinced to get one for that night and during so, she called up to my room checking on me, she told me that anything I need to let her know and she'll see to it that I have it. She was very knowledgeable about gulf port and was able to refer me to the best food places there, done very nice night clubs, and bars. It was her customer service alone that made stay a whole entire week as opposed to the one day I had planned on. I mean I've stayed at the 4 star hotels like the Waldorf Astoria, and other would class hotels and let me tell you, I've never received customer service as good as hers. She took notice of how exhausted I was and offered to carry my bags upand she did. She above and beyond her job description to make sure my stay was pleasant as possible. I don't know what she gets paid per hour but I highly recommend she gets a pay raise because I'm almost sure she doesn't get paid enough for the level of customer service provides. A world class hotel would love to have someone like her so I hope whoever that reads this takes what I'm saying into consideration because most definitely deserves it. I'm posting this comment so other frequent travelers like me can be informed about your super star front desk employee Tina! I definitely recommend staying when Tina is there!

Check in was okay. Once we got to the room, it seemed pretty clean but the light by the bed had a bulb missing and the USB ports didn't work. There was a problem with the door locking. We arrived on a Friday and told the front desk what was wrong but nothing ever got fixed. Saturday we woke up around 11:00 and left for breakfast and shopping. When we returned our keys would not open the door. So I had to walk to the front desk to get the cards rekeyed. When I returned to the room, the door still would not open although the green light showed it was open. After trying over and over, it finally opened but then it would not lock. Not only that, the room wasn't cleaned and we had not fresh towels and when we told the front desk, she said housekeeping was gone for the day. So, I went to the front desk to see if they would give me another room. The manager told me they didn't have any available. Then she said there was a handicap room available and gave me the keys so I could check it out. When we opened the door, there was the worst smell. It smelled like old urine and it looked filthy. So there was no way I could stay there. I returned to the front desk and asked for a refund for the second night. Not only that, there was people walking constantly around the premises. One even asked for money. They were jumping back and forth across the fence in the rear of the property. Therefore, I didn't really feel safe. That is the first and the last time I will stay at any Motel 6. I definitely would not recommend this motel to anyone.

The pictures do not do this any justice. Came to Biloxi for a family reunion. Had pre-booked my trip. Have visited Motel 6 facilities in the past. However, this particular facility in Gulfport was disgusting.
A caterpillar-like bug infests both the interior and exterior of the property. I am in the military so I understand environmental creatures. However, this particular bug resided in my bed, the floors, and the walls. I do not live with bugs in my own home and refuse to live with them especially when I have paid for the luxury.
As a result, I was embarrassed as I had family residing with me and they of course freaked out when we walked in the room. We quickly made the front desk aware and immediately exited the hotel. This was during the 4th of July holiday so finding another room or hotel for me and my guests within the immediate area was futile.
We had to pay double for the inconvenience. I have since been in touch with the chain for an appropriate refund. They state their investigation found nothing. However, my proof speaks otherwise. I did not even request that they pay me for the additional money out of pocket spent at another hotel. The saga continues. However, Motel 6 be advised that your investigation is bogus as my proof in video and pics speaks volumes.
Signed, U.S. Soldier requesting full refund
