The title above is their description and it is accurate. We stayed in a 2 bedroom grain bin and it was great fun.
The place was down home in style. The shower, hot water, ac and the like all worked fine. Would have liked a...More
Had a great 2-night stay at the Claremont Shack. It contained everything we needed and the best part was the porch. We were there around the 1st of August during a 'cool spell' (which in the Delta is still quite hot), with relatively low humidity...More
Visited for one night & stayed in Red shack. Place was great. The shack was very authentic but comfortable and everything you could need was available. The site is spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good value although it is not served everyday. Unfortunately on the...More
Loved the room at the top of the stairs with the little balcony.

I do not know what time the Shack Up bar closes, sorry, but I can tell you the Hopson Commissary is just steps away, and Red's Blues Club and Ground Zero, as well as several other places, are just a few short miles away. Red's is our very favorite place for live blues music. One thing to know is that many of the places there are only open on certain nights of the week, so depending what days you are there, will determine where you can go. And ordering alcoholic drinks is completely different than Chicago! Many places let you bring your own bottle in. Read my other reviews for more info on Clarksdale, and feel free to ask me more questions. Roger at "Cat Head" posts up to date calendars on his website and fb page, so it is a good source of info. If you have a couple of extra hours while there, we highly recommend the Delta Bohemian Tour to get a sense of what makes Clarksdale tick. It has a character all of it's own! Enjoy!
