Shaded by venerable oaks while commanding a panoramic Gulf view, this Grande Dame once reigned as the crown jewel of the Mississippi coast. Now, after 30 years of vacancy, the beautiful home has been remodeled and repurposed into a fantastic hotel and resort that gives tourists a proper southern welcome.

The White House Hotel garners appreciation for its luxurious and comfortable rooms, with guests often praising the hotel's classic charm and cozy atmosphere, highlighted by live music and elegant architecture. However, some travelers have called out inconsistency in room size and maintenance, alongside mixed opinions regarding the value, with a few deeming it overpriced. The hotel's cleanliness generally receives high marks, although an occasional complaint about upkeep, such as a stray stain, has been noted.
While many guests commend the accommodating and professional staff, a few report varying service quality. The amenities are well-received, yet there's a noted desire for in-room refrigerators and microwaves.

Detailed Reviews
My hubby & I brought my mother to biloxi for her 83rd birthday to see Johnny Mathis. Initially, I had plans to book the Hard Rock since the Beau was booked. I screwed around and let it get booked up. So, I started looking. I’d seen the White House before, just driving by, the price through Hotels.com was good. So I thought mama might enjoy a historic hotel—boy, did she! We did, too.
Typically, I’ve found, when booking through an internet site, you get the crappy rooms. Not here! Our room was ocean view & what a beautiful view! The room was large, tastefully appointed.& very clean. (Mama always takes her Lysol wipes and cleans, I once teased her for that, but no more! Nothing was on her wipes!)
There no bars in the walk in shower to hold. Not a big deal for most but m mother is 83 & more active than folks half her age, except for osteoporosis which caused her to lose 6 inches in height due to her vertebra. So a shower slip would drastically change or possibly end her way of life. No grip bars posed a problem. I called the front desk and asked about a shower chair & we had it within 5 minutes. Problem solved, but be aware of the lack of gripbars in the shower if that’s an issue for you. The shower chair saved the day and solved our issue.
Other than the lack of shower bar, which may be included in a handicap room—not sure, the only other thing I would change is the addition of a fridge & possibly a microwave. We had no need for the microwave, but others might. A fridge, definitely, would’ve been used. They maybe had one, I didn’t ask. Not a huge deal breaker. This is one historical property that was remodeled with nothing lacking.
Every staff member we encountered was friendly and seemed happy—that’s not something you see often
We will definitely stay here again! For once, my procrastination paid off in our favor!

The Hotel is a venue for weddings, etc.,, but we were there for a Gulf Coast getaway weekend. We initially booked a larger king suite for one night, but in order to stay two nights took a 3rd floor small king room. The hotel is relatively newly refurbished, clean, overlooking the Gulf. The room we had was small and minimally furnished, adequate, on the back side of the hotel, not a good view. The water pressure could be better, and the hot water not hot enough. The shades did not fully cover the window and allowed morning light. The shades were non-operable. No blanket on the bed, but available upon request. Nice pool area.

We stayed two nights with two rooms. We had a king and a king suite with ocean views. Very nice rooms great views. The rooms are big and the decor is modern. Beds are comfortable and the lobby is pretty. Air condition was good and it was a good location. A couple of things we found odd, as big as the rooms were there were no drawers to put clothes in, very few towels or seats at the pool. The cushions on the pool furniture were a linen type fabric and if someone wet sat on them before you, you got wet from the moisture in the cushion. There was no food or drink for or at the pool, the bar inside opened at 4 and the restaurant was dinner only. There was a sign you could not bring in drinks or food from outside to the pool. The pool is on a major road which is between the hotel and the beach. Front desk staff was not overly friendly. The window shades were very difficult to raise and some were broken.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and accommodations. We did not eat at Coras because it is formal.

At the surface this hotel appears like a nice place but under the covers not so much. First issue was that we had two rooms, tried 4 rooms and none of them had hot water at the bathroom sinks. We brought it to the attention of the desk mgr whom promptly called maint. but it never did get resolved. hard to wash hands, face, and shave with cold water. The lights at bedside were so dim that no one could read by them or anything else. The blinds were so poor that there was no way I could get the room even reasonably dark from the back parking lot lighting. Made sleep very difficult if at all.
Standard rooms have no refrigerator, no microwave, no bathtub, have to upgrade at $40 a night to get those common items. Floor was cold and hard on the feet forcing one to wear something at all times. There was no breakfast avail when we were there so we had to shuffle down the street to a very poor waffle house. WE gave up on the place and left a day early. I'd recommend avoiding this place unless you are desperate,
Last and maybe least, the TV package had no guide and no easy way to figure what was on what or when. Luckily the WiFi internet worked so we could use our Fire stick to watch TV. Almost forgot about some maint. guys in the back lot banging on stuff trying to clean up something in the parking lot. A rather rude awakening if you could sleep. :-(

We booked at The White House because we were attending. We loved its charm. We had a king size review that was basically the size of a closet. The two glasses in the room were DIRTY so I went to the front desk to request clean glasses. The sink in the bathroom could not conjure any hot water. There was one chair in a small alcove. When we checked out, we were informed there was a larger room available. Why hadn't they put us there in the first place? We were told it is a "boutique" hotel which they seem to think explains that some rooms are not comfortable. If you consider a stay here, be very specific about what you expect. We left and checked into a gulf view room in a national chain and were extremely happy with the space, the cleanliness and the hot water!

Came here for honeymoon as a quick getaway. Booked it about two and a half months in advance figured I would get a cheaper rate which is what I thought we were getting. When we checked out the rate was actually higher than what I booked. I told this to the front desk and they made up whatever stories and oh this is what we can take off and I said no that's unacceptable but we can't go any higher. Blah blah blah few minutes later ....now we can go this far off.... so I just accepted it at that point even though it really wasn't close to what they quoted me over the phone. I never did get an email confirmation when I booked the hotel originally months ago which that's my fault I guess.
Shower door has gap so water when all over floor, bath tub does not hold water had to out a towel in drain. Curtains were broke and could not raise them to get light in the room.
No hot water in hotel room. Just very warm, toilet paper holder broken on wall, tv was verybdark and would get bright then dark again. Pool was not clean and no pool towel except for one time the day we got there and we were there for 3 days. Refrigerator froze everything we had even left over food from resturaunt. Maid service only came once in 3 days, and even hung the "request service" tag on the door. Yeah staff is friendly but for that rate it shluld have been better facilities.

Nice area of town, right on the waterfront, though it is on a busy street. We were originally going to stay for two nights but changed that to one night because we had no hot water. We were also awaken early by workers power washing the parking lot which our first first rooms were right next to. It would have been nice if the staff would have told us that this work was going to take place the following morning. We would have chosen different rooms if they were available. Refrigerators and microwaves are only in select rooms so ask before you book. Bedside lights were very dim and made it hard to read. The hotel looks very nice from the outside but make sure it has the amenities that you want.

This hotel was a very unique experience for us, with it's beautiful Southern manor architecture and cozy rooms that feel more like actual bedrooms inside a home than your standard, boring hotel rooms. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean, save for a stain on the bed sheets. My husband and I booked a king size bedroom, which was actually fairly small, but it was cozy and quiet. The bathroom was quite possibly the biggest, nicest hotel bathroom I've seen in a very long time and it also, was much nicer than your standard hotel bathroom, again more resembling a master bathroom inside a house than the typical generic rooms you find in most hotels anymore. Our room also overlooked the beach and rooms were very affordable.

We stayed in the King Room Suite with a Gulf View. Excellent! Everything was clean and neat at check-in, and we were treated like royalty. The staff is very friendly and thoroughly explained all amenities available to us. Though it was a short stay for us and we did not eat breakfast at Cora's, it was nice to know that hotel guests receive a 10% discount when dining on site. Since this is a historic property, expect the historic character to "shine through" in some areas, but it is definitely a property with modern décor and amenities! First class in every area! We will definitely recommend others to stay at The White House, and we will be back, too.

Disregard any negative reviews you might read as we have stayed here at least a DOZEN times living nearby in Mobile. This is our go to stay whenever we want a short weekend away from home. You simply will not find a nicer, quieter, more upscale stay anywhere on the Gulf Coast aside from maybe the Grand Hotel in Fairhope which is 3-4 times more expensive per night. The restaurant Cora's is great though it isn't cheap, the bar has good options, but the service and cleanliness of the property is where it shines more than anything. FANTASTIC beds as well we always sleep great. You'd think that would be obvious, but so many even high end hotels beds are terrible considering how the bed looks to be more important than how comfortable it is.

Not sure on that, if you call the hotel they will know
Hey, Melissa!
Thank you for reaching out to us! Of course, we are kid friendly! We have a great pool area for them to enjoy and we are also right across the street from the beach. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!
My wife and I haven't been down to Biloxi on Easter. BUT... It certainly doesn't change the great view you can have at the White House Hotel. We highly recommend the hotel for ANY time of year.
The exterior of the hotel is Colonial and was built to reflect the era it was originally built. (1894) The place is bigger than life! In other words, a home with all the warmth of Southern Charm, Style and Comfort that you'd come to expect. (no kidding)
Interior is spacious and modern with a dash of classic colonial decor.
It has a very nice restaurant and bar in the hotel called Cora's. If your looking for a excellent Easter Brunch? Cora's would be the first place we'd go.
The south side of the building and pool faces the Gulf coast which makes for a wonderful view anytime of the day.
We recommend you book soon.
With it being near or around a holiday your options may run short. Because, the accommodation you're searching for are there.
