I’ve Spent approximately 1,000 nights at HIEs over the last 10 years. I have been accosted by a breakfast service worker exactly once. Asking if I stayed there and demanding to see a room key. I do not like being presumed to be stealing at any establishment I visit. And I would not recommend this HIE to anyone. Theres other hotels nearby, choose one of those.

Response from Anke Rathmann, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Biloxi - Beach Blvd, an IHG Hotel
Responded 27 Oct 2023
Dear R5277GCwilliamh, Thank you for your recent stay with us and for leaving your feedback. I appreciate your comments and would like to apologize to you if our breakfast host did upset you by asking to see a room key. Holiday Inn Expresses are known for their complimentary breakfast and unfortunately, unauthorized people take advantage of it. We have signage posted in our breakfast area to inform our guests to be prepared to show their room key when our hosts randomly ask them. However, our guests should always be addressed in a polite, welcoming manner and I am truly sorry if you were made feel uncomfortable. I hope you will accept my sincere apology and will choose to stay at IHG hotels in the future. Sincerely, Anke Rathmann / GM

Very nice room w/ a partial view of the Beach. King size bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean & roomy. Right across the street from a great seafood restaurant and Shops. Easy in & out off of Beach Blvd. Would book again.

Room 401 has the best beach view. It is a large room at the front of the hotel and can have a little road noise, but the view is worth it. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is IGH standard. It it an older HIE and some of the rooms internal furnishings are dated. Nonetheless, it is convenient to the Beach and Casinos. It is reasonably priced in the off season.

The city was experiencing water issues where it wasn't safe to drink the water. You would think the HOTEL could do a little more about making sure there visitors had enough bottled water to brush your teeth and make coffee for the morning. Needless to say we were given one bottle each which wasn't near enough. I was chastised for wanting new bottles for the morning. The receptionist up front was rude and ugly about asking for more. We should have been given discounts for the inconvenience of the situation. We understand that it wasn't their fault but they should have tried to accommodate their gust without being stingy. The hotel itself is not in good condition, outdated ,stains on carpet and couch.

Response from Anke Rathmann, General Manager at Holiday Inn Express Biloxi - Beach Blvd, an IHG Hotel

Dear kimg863, Thank you for your recent stay with us and for leaving your feedback. I appreciate your comments and would like to apologize to you about feeling that you were chastised for asking for more water and that we were stingy. I have addressed the issue with our Front Desk Staff to ensure that everyone knows to give out as many bottles as our guests would like, although it was already discussed with them when the boil water notice was issued and is mentioned in the letter we hand out at check in as well. I will not allow rudeness from our staff and will monitor our staffs' behavior more closely. I hope you will accept my sincere apology and that you are willing to give us another chance in the future. Sincerely, Anke Rathmann / General Manager

The good first...clean, good location, staff friendly and rooms are up to date furnished. The damn elevator was broke and they put us on the 3rd floor ! Now we can do the stairs, BUT, what a great inconvenience...get it fixed, NO EXCUSES for that to your patrons.

This hotel is modern and clean! Beach is great and you can walk to at least 4 great restaurants. The Beach is clean and quiet. Highly recommend and will return. By the way, the people in MS are the nicest I’ve ever met! Other reviews say there’s no public bathrooms. Not true.

I would give it no stars if I had a choice. The reservation system messed up the date for when I was to arrive. I tried to call many times with no answer from the hotel and the reservation 1877 number kept hanging up on me the day before the reservation. I even tried their chat tool. The next day I tried to call again. Finally, got through to guest relations at 2 pm, and my card had already been charged with a no show charge. No one never called me to ask if I was coming or going to be late. Guest relations did not understand that the populated date on the IHG app defaults to the next day and even when you change the date it still was not working correctly. I wanted to go see my family for Thanksgiving, not May 1st. I will book another hotel somewhere else where the hotel actually cares and understands IT applications make errors.

Dear CatB, Thank you for leaving your feedback. Unfortunately, after the arrival date has passed, reservations can not be amended to a future date. However, I urge you to check your emails from yesterday, because right after I received your IHG case, I sent you an email that we will waive the No Show Fee. I understand that mistakes can happen and am always wiling to work with our guests. I am sorry to hear that you will not stay with us in the future but hope you will still choose IHG hotels. Nice hotel, great location with an exceptional breakfast. Very pleasant staff, particularly Andy & Casey at the front desk were very accommodating. The room was clean enough - we haven’t been to a hotel yet that can pass my wife’s white glove inspection.

The room was lovely, all the essentials and even extras, very comfortable room, however, my husband and I are both physically disabled, he is a disabled veteran and we checked in on veterans day, there was no handicapped parking, the only parking available was all in the rear of the building, we can't walk that far easily, we had to check in and out by entering thru the front entrance, and drive around and go to and from our vehicle thru a rear entrance with room key where our room was in the back, when I went in thru front entrance in morning they asked rudely "Can we help you?" I said no and went to get my husband a cup of coffee from the 'complimentary breakfast,' they were excessively rude and called multiple workers over to stare at me and my service dog. I was very insulted and terrified. My husband and I will never stay at this companies' hotels again. We would have stayed another night, but not after the way we were treated, we checked out a day early.

Hi ashleyaM5896XD, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your stay at our hotel. I hope your day is going well. Our goal is to always deliver guest satisfaction and our high-quality standards in all aspects, but I'm sorry to read your dissatisfaction about this stay. While I am glad you are pleased with our lovely room and comfy beds, I understand the discomfort caused by the issue with the parking. I also recognize your dismay with the service received from our staff. What you described is certainly not the experience we want for any guest, ashleyaM5896XD. Trust that I have brought this to our management's attention. I know they appreciate your thoughts, and I am confident they will take appropriate steps to address these issues. I am hopeful for another opportunity to welcome you back for an improved experience. All the Best, Glaiza G. Case Manager IHGService

We booked here last minute when our reservation was canceled by booking at our other hotel. This was a great location with the beach right across the street and great beach restaurants very close by. The staff was great and check in was easy. The room was satisfactory, again an older hotel so the doors were the older metal doors and when kids slam them they are very loud. But the beds were comfortable, the AC worked fine, and the rooms look like they were recently updated. Breakfast was a continental breakfast but did have some hot items as well. The only concern I had was the side door and back door keypads were not working and the doors were being held open with a doormat on the side and a rock in the back. This leaves everyone pretty vulnerable to anyone just walking into the hotel. They need to fix this issue! Overall, it was a nice stay!
