Ledge rock grill offered a flavorful, tasty walleye dinner over yummy rice that was amazing!
The staff was accommodating, attentive, Hats off to Karen our waitress and one more young guy who worked the patio, and generously helped us find the perfect table with lake view. Delicious!
We recognize the resort is under new restrictions and training, during this cov19 and managing safety with maintaining a welcoming atmosphere is challenging.
Feedback, the front desk manager who was diligent in answering phone calls, could use assistance. No doubt they are working diligently to meet needs, the connecting piece gets a bit lost, encourage the gentleman working to look up and make eye contact, and give margin to answering questions. The check in and check out felt like an assembly line. When checking in, another customer was complaining, and unhappy, the exchange was unpleasant for all.
We were not aware until the end of our visit you could ask for “kits” popcorn, deck of cards,” kits “to make s’mores, and fire starting kits . The resort gave out letters and pamphlets with information, and the number front desk, which we called and often received no answer at times. . However, most likely they were busy.
Enjoyed our visit, encourage more connecting and help up front, to making guests feel welcomed rather than a duty. Observation, too much for one person to manage with the added guidelines.
Beautiful grounds, fire pits and “kits” to make fires available. Thank you to all the staff that works hard behind the scenes to maintain a beautiful setting like Larsmont.
We would definitely return, encourage more help up front during check in and check out times.
The grill was awesome!
It is not advertised, but Larsmont Cottages are all owned either fully or in part by a large number of private families. Those private families can bring their pets on the premises at any time. This is a big problem for asthmatics and allergy sufferers. If this information were more clearly communicated to the public, then these situations could be avoided ahead of time. Thankfully the family member is going to make a full recovery, however, this was a very scary experience for our family.
The property and location is stunning, so there isn't a bad thing to say about any of that, but not communicating this critical information to the many asthma and allergy sufferers is very shortsighted on behalf of this organization.
We had two negative experiences.
The bedroom was rather cramped, as was the bathroom. The first morning we called to see whether we could upgrade to something more spacious for our second night, especially as we had noticed that not all of the accommodation was occupied. Of course we would pay any difference. We were told that we could not be moved as there was no-one to clean the room! I checked to make sure that I understood correctly, rooms are free but cannot be booked because they can't be cleaned. This was confirmed. I asked whether they could not employ more cleaners and was told rather curtly that they have been trying to recuit for months and are struggling to find staff. That was that, no flexibility, no apology. Zero customer care.
After a day out we returned at 16h30 to find that our room had not been touched. We enquired and were told that no "in room service" is provided. Nowhere was this communicated, not at check-in, nor on the website or posted in the room. When we asked why not, we were told because of Covid. The previous night we cooked a ready made meal in the microwave and therefore had a few dishes, and coffee mugs. There is no basin, just a cloth and diswashing liquid. Upon asking where guests are supposed to clean their dishes, we were told in the bathroom basin.
We were then informed that if we asked, someone could come and do what we needed to have done. Quite promptly a young lady arrived, she removed the dishes, emptied the bin and replenished the coffee upon our request.
(If you're only spending one night, this is irrelevant.)
We travel a lot and have never had an experience such as this.
On a positive note, the setting is beautiful, the bon fires were a cosy touch and the dinner we had in the restaurant was delicious.
Would we visit again, no.
