Nestled in a prime location, Grand Superior Lodge offers travelers stunning lake views and easy access to natural attractions, enhancing their outdoor experiences. Guests have called out the cleanliness and rustic charm of the hotel, along with the well-maintained rooms that come with well-equipped kitchens and comfortable furnishings.
While the hotel's amenities, including pools, fire pits, and restaurants, are often praised, some travelers feel that the high prices do not match the value received, and occasionally service can be slow. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, yet some lack amenities and justify the cost for many guests.

Grand Superior Lodge was great! We enjoyed the balcony on our room with great views of Lake Superior. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We only ate in the restaurant one time, but it was delicious. Highly recommend this Lodge.

We recently stayed at Grand Superior Lodge for the first time as a family (my wife previously stayed with her sister and mom earlier this year/summer). We stayed in a two bedroom cabin and absolutely loved the place. It was perfect for our family of four plus our dog. From a great kitchen to the deck overlooking the lake to the awesome wood burning fireplace. We loved the large hot tub and pool, and location is great to get to Duluth or to all the Parks on the North Shore in about 30 minutes or less. The grounds are also very well maintained and have great views of Lake Superior. The staff was great as well, with a special shout out to Adam who went the extra mile for us. The only negative was that our dinner experience at the grill was not good. Food spelled burnt and tasted bad, service was slow, and place seated (next to the kitchen) was not ideal even though we still had a view of the lake across the room. However, my wife said her experience before with her mom and sister was great. Maybe we just got a bad night... and there are a number of other great eating options near by. Either way, we loved the place so much we already booked the same cabin for next Fall!!!

For something different, our family rental a lakeside 3 bedroom "cabin" at the Grand Superior Lodge. We were impressed by the views from the cabin. It was right on the shores of Lake Superior. It had a fully equipped kitchen, two fire places (gas) and an appropriate rustic décor. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The cabin allowed separate heating of each bedroom and the main living area. The staff at the resort was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort had a nice restaurant that was very accommodating in dealing with our special food needs (gluten free and special blending requirements). The only negative issues were that the swimming pool was a bit on the cool side. It was an indoor pool and could have been heated a bit more considering it was winter time. The other issue was with the TV reception. The image that came in did not fit properly on the TV screens no matter how much adjustments were made. It was not the TV, but the source that seemed to be the issue. It was a bit annoying. Despite these minor issues, I would highly recommend a stay at the Grand Superior Lodge. The entire family had a wonderful Christmas at the lodge and it will be a treasured memory.

Stayed in a studio cabin. First the good, the view of Lake Superior was amazing. The cabin had everything we needed and we didn't hear any noise from other guests or the road. The bikes were fun to ride around the property and the giant ladder golf game was really fun as well. I even saw a black bear cub taking a stroll on the path from the cabin to the lake! Now for the room for improvements, even in the heightened cleaning practices of Covid-19, there was dried ketchup on coffee table in the cabin. While the restaurant is very convenient, the kitchen staff needs help. The appetizer was burnt, and my husbands food was cold, (my pasta dish was actually very good). We felt bad for the woman who was waiting tables because all she did was apologize to almost every table for one thing or another. The TV was laughable, reminded us of the 1970's rabbit ears, not 2020 high definition and we did not have any internet service in the cabin. The experience as a whole was good and we will probably give them a second chance.

My husband and I stayed in studio cabin number 503. This cabin was beautifully decorated with a kitchenette (fully stocked with plates/glasses/silverware), microwave, hot tub, fireplace, and patio with furniture and a gas grill! The best part of the cabin was the view! We had a straight on view of the lake and could hear and see the waves crashing while eating dinner in the living room. The room also came equipped with tons of board games and books which was a nice touch. My biggest complaint was the temperature of the room. The thermostat is set at 72 degrees and you cannot change it! We stayed at the end of March and had to have all the windows open with two fans going to tolerate the heat! It wasn't so bad in the evening and it was nice to hear the waves while we slept. My other complaint about the cabin is while it has many windows with views of the lake the highest point windows were not covered by shades so the light came in pretty quick in the morning making it difficult to sleep. Overall I would highly recommend cabin 503 for a romantic getaway! One other thing to note about the property is that the restaurant is open for dine in and takeout but you may not be able to get takeout if there is high demand. This happened to us on a Monday at 6PM! The food we did get was decent but be prepared to bring your own food or eat out at other restaurants nearby.

We have been coming here for a decade and love it beyond words. The views, the comfort, the atmosphere and most of all the incredible staff! Shout out to Lyz, Adam and Brien for going above and beyond to make our honeymoon extra special. The restaurant used to be amazing but they changed it and now lacks the quality and selection we loved, but again the staff was phenomenal there. They need to turn up their water heaters as there was not enough hot water to fill a tub. Otherwise it is perfect. Privacy but options for social gathering if you choose, a beach LOADED with agates, comfort and a quaint atmosphere, real wood fireplaces, huge rooms, spectacular views and the best staff I've ever encountered. The beach house was so amazing, literally on the water with the best view possible anywhere and somehow very private even though it's right on the beach. It's always very clean and the super staff even left me a welcome back note with a gift basket on one stay. We will never stay anywhere else on the north shore. We are lifelong fans.

We had a wonderful valentines getaway at Grand Superior Lodge. We had a Lake Guest room with views of Lake Superior. We had dinner at the main lodge and the food was delicious and our waitress gave AWSOME service. I’m taking away one star only because the guest lake room did not have a microwave or fridge. Although cozy it would of been nice to be able to keep some food and beverage cold in the fridge and heat up things in the microwave but all in all we had a fabulous time. We brought our snowmobiles and trails were close by you could even take off right from the lodge. We will definitely be back!!

We come here almost every year over New Years. These units have great views and it’s nice having an on site restaurant and being close to 3 great state parks. Our unit this year had some furniture that could use replacing. The dining room chairs were worn out and so was the living room furniture. If you rent all 3 rooms more seating is needed in the living room. There were some cleaning issues in one of our rooms that staff remedied quickly.
We ate at the restaurant twice. Food was great and the staff were helpful and fun. Overall I would recommend this place.

We have been staying at Odyssey properties for several years and have, overall, been very impressed with their comfortable accommodations and ability to provide consistent service. This trip, however, was well-below what we’ve come to expect, particularly of a property at this price point and from an organization that has rapidly acquired several properties on the North Shore in a relatively short time frame.
We arrived and the outside door to the upstairs bedrooms was standing open. There was a large bag of garbage from the previous renters in the entryway closet that had been left in our cabin. Additionally, there was a dust bunny/hair ball the size of a fist in one of the bathrooms. When my husband took a jacuzzi, the jets spewed out tiny brown particles into the water. The fireplace in the upstairs bedroom was broken. When we tried to place a takeout order on Sunday night, we were told they could not accept any orders. Unfortunately, the closest restaurant, the Rustic Inn, had closed at 5 pm. Literally, the only highlight on the part of Odyssey came from a member of their front desk staff, James, who would be an asset to any employer.
Overall, a poor experience. I’m glad that we booked at Bluefin Bay for our week-long trip up to the a North Shore in June.

Dear J755UOchristineb, Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey. We apologize for the housekeeping issues you mention and are sorry this negatively impacted your visit. Unfortunately the staff missed these items and we thank you for letting us know so that improvements can be made. The restaurant has limited staffing this time of year and with the Presidents Day weekend we were quite busy and could not offer take out this weekend in addition to the existing reservations for restaurant. Warmest regards, Grand Superior Lodge

This is almost a great stay. We rented a 3 bedroom lake home for a winter getaway. The views were spectacular. The grounds looked like they'd be fun, with several fire pits and games, but it was just too darn cold the weekend we were there. The restaurant was perfectly fine - not fabulous but fine and there were a range of price options.
The home itself needed a very good cleaning. The floors were dirty, all over, not just in the corners and the fixtures were dusty. I'm not a neat freak in general but for the price per night, I expected more. The furniture really needs updating. The couch in particular was saggy and uncomfortable. There was really no comfy spot where I could read for long stretches of time, none of the furniture was comfortable enough for extended periods.
There were two jacuzzi tubs in our home and we took full advantage of them (after giving them a scrub down just because overall cleanliness was an issue). The view from the main bedroom upstairs was a wonderful place to sip coffee in the morning and watch the steam coming off the lake. The kitchen had the basics, through the handle fell off one of the pots, making it useless for cooking. We had brought several spices for cooking and that was good as there was really just salt & pepper supplied.
It's nice that the property isn't as far north as some others, making it an easier option for a shorter trip.
There is a lot of potential here but for the price, they need to step it up.

I would ask the hotel manager. Not sure what you want delivered...food...OK. Other things? Not sure.
We have stand alone cabins, and also shared ones.
During the summer, canoes are offered and yes they are included with your stay.
