Beautiful sunrise! Splashing, crashing whitecap waves against the rocks just outside our window. Dramatic snow collection compared to our place, south about 3 hours. We so enjoyed the hot tub and pool, the restaurants and just the fun shopping in nearby towns.

Good morning. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, an electric griddle, blender, salt and pepper. Standard automatic drip coffee maker and all the coffee supplies including several different flavors of creamer and tea. If you run out, call the front desk and we will deliver more at no additional charge. Obviously utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee cups, etc. If you plan on roasting a big turkey or pot roast you may want to bring your own roasting pan. I always remind guests that we offer a variety of activities from kayaking to canoeing, guided hikes and biking all at no additional cost. Check out "Resort Activities" under the "Play" option on our website. The yoga class is extremely popular. The instructor is one of the top in the state. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

You really never know. The possibility is there, and you can check Web sites that help predict solar flares. Bear in mind that most places along the North Shore of Lake Superior are oriented to the lake (eastwardly) rather than to the north (where the thick and tall forest is). I've seen some lucky photographers whose timing was perfect and they got shots of Northern Lights that captured the lake as well. But that's less common. Probably the only more-or-less dependable places to catch Northern Lights are closer to the Arctic Circle (Alaska, Finland, Iceland, for example) and usually in winter. Sadly, as long and as often as I've been going up to the North Shore, I have yet to see them myself. Check out the work of photographers Nace Haggeman, Christian Dalbec, and David Johnson to get an idea of where they catch Northern Lights. All three are amazing photographers!
