We stayed for 3 nights and wow wow wow! What a place to stay. This place is about 10 minute drive from main mission beach. We got the grey hound and hired a car from sugar land. It was good and I would recommend hiring a car. There's great kitchen facilities at this hotel, but you need a car to...

Hey Gem, Thanks for your awesome and detailed review. You summed it up perfectly. Sanctuary is not for everyone but if you like nature and are physically fit then it's for you. Glad you guys got it and had a great time

Tents in the rain forest had clean laundry, as an FYI if you don't like nature this place isn't for you. It has good wifi at the main communal area. Meal prices are way above average, for a bowl of cereal with fruit and yogurt on top was over 15 dollars. When checking out Paul watched us load the truck...

A wonderful place to slow down and recharge. For a week I stayed in an outdoor hut where I could watch the sun rise from bed, take a shower under the trees and wake to the wonderful sounds of the forest. It is rustic and earthy, well run and comfortable. Gorgeous yoga studio, great masseuse and delicious food. The communal...

We came here stressed from work, stayed at one of the deluxe cabins which was so worth it as it was totally private (cabin 34) and within a few hours had distressed as we felt nature reconnect with us. The cabins really are set in the middle of the rainforest. We nearly walked into a cassowary. There's birds and wildlife...

A relaxing and wonderful place to get out of the hustle and bustle of the real world and recharge amongst the cassowaries and green-tree frogs of the Australian tropics. I stayed in an outdoor hut, which was basic but perfect for my needs, but upgrading for a little extra to a cabin could have been even more incredible. Great views,...

I stayed in the Sanctuary Retreat for 1.5 weeks earlier in September and adored just about everything about it. I wanted to have a relaxing back-to nature holiday catching up on some me-time and reading and this was the prefect place for it! The cabin I stayed in was located in the middle of a beautiful lush rainforest with an...

I have run several yoga retreats at Sanctuary over the past 8 years and the experience just gets better and better. The hut accommodation provides you with a true outdoor experience and many have been updated with alfresco bathrooms since our first visit. The cabins are simply appointed, comfortable and uniquely positioned so you feel as though you have the...

The sanctuary is to help relax and release you from everyday life. If you enjoy the outdoors, if you dont mind insects, reptiles, and animals, enjoy holistic type foods. Then this place is for you. You can hike up the 600 so meters to the lodge or you can simply call and they will come get you. They have yoga...

We only came for a night but wished we'd stayed longer. It was calming, peaceful and off the beaten track which we liked. We booked because we wanted to break up our drive from Cairns to Airlie and didn't want to stay in ordinary accommodation. We loved sleeping in the rainforest and had the best meal of the whole trip...
