Me and my boyfriend found a horrible camp that has nothing to deal with LUXURY. Of course we were not expecting a luxury camp, but something that was close to be accetable. A travel agency of Leh (K2 ADVENTURE) booked this camp for us, telling that it was nice and in the greenery. We told the owner of the agency that we were arriving after an hard trek and we were looking for something nice. I could not tell you a lot about the night and the food because we did not stop there for the night, since it was too horrible. The tent was dirty, with dirty blankets. In the tent the shower was basically made by 2 buckets... Do not go there becuse you will be disappointend by how this camp is organized. And please don't go to K2 adventure since when we came back to Leh the owner threaten us saying that we would have problems at the airport if we wouldn't pay for the Camp.…

We left Leh early morning for Nubra valley via Khardung La pass. The drive of almost 40 km from Leh to Khardung La was serene, though the roads were narrow and broken... after spending some time at Khardung la, we took the serpentine roads to Nubra valley... before checking in the hotel, we visited Milkha point, followed by camel ride and archery game. Finally, around 6 pm, we checked in K2 Luxury resort...first, it was difficult to find the resort as it was away from the main road and directions were not clear... moreover, there was no signal in our Airtel phone... anyway, the check-in was swift and the camp was clean and had attached washroom... it had a queen size double bed, clean towels and quilt, a TV with satellite connection and a mirror...believe me, it is a luxury in such places... Dinner was served around 8pm... it was basic but delicious...generator was switched off post lunch and it was dark...for which nubra is known... we thought of star gazing but later discarded the idea owing to chilly winds... The only regret I had was that next day we had to leave early morning around 6am... in spite of informing the camp owner and confirming that we'd be served tea... there was no body available to prepare tea... even hot water wasn't available in buckets... we checked for owner and helpers in various tents but no one woke up... reluctantly, we left without informing the owner that we're checking out finally... Overall, a mixed experience... perhaps, being one of the few good camps, they can afford to look the other way... still, the place is clean and food is tasty...and reasonable...…

We booked this camp through K2 adventures travel company. We were a little dicey about booking it in the starting but every dime we spent on it was worth it. The tents were super clean, with hot running water and delicious food and in lush green surroundings. It is situated very close to the camel ride point which is a plus point. The staff is very attentive and on foot to provide you with all the things you want. The tent too had a television which was a big boon considering the remoteness of the area.

We took about 5 hours travel from leh to this resort at Nubra's Valley. We were so disappointing to see this horible resort. Bed and blanket were not washed. Toilet was so pathetic. Thank god we only stay for a nite. We recommend you all not to ever book this resort.

The place lives up to its name as it is as luxurious as a camp stay can get. Clean tents, attached restroom with hot water facility, TV and dish connection. The food served was delicious and most welcome after a hectic day travel. Service was excellent.

Our driver recommended K2 and we spent a lovely night here. The tents are well set up with attached bathrooms, power sockets to charge phones and TVs. The location is peaceful and beautiful, looking up at the mountains and dotted with trees and wild herbs. We had dinner included in our tariff which was delicious and served exactly when suited us. Recommended option for a Nubra stay.

We stayed at K2 when we visited Nubra valley. It was a long drive from Leh, bad roads made it even more tiring. We reached K2 in the afternoon. This place is a cluster of camps/ tents with attached bath and basic amenities. The tents were airtight with cemented floors, making them very comfortable in the night. In the middle of desert surrounded by dry but scenic himalayas, this place was once in a lifetime experience. Temperature around noon was quite warm, but no comfort of fans or air conditioners. Nights on the contrary were chilling cold. Power supply is an issue here. I believe that's the case with all staying options at Nubra. Electricity supply is available from 6:00 pm till around 11:00 pm. with frequent power cuts supplemented by power back up. That means you need to have your dinner and catch bed by 11:00. In the evening, you are greeted with a cup of hot tea after you are back from camel ride in the valley. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are very basic and you should have it as early as possible to have it served hot. Considering the location, I think this is kind of best you can get.…

Response from Mountaintrailsladakh, Manager at K2 Luxury Camp
Responded 19 Dec 2014
Dear Sir, Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback. As you have guessed, there is a perennial power crisis in Nubra Valley. All the camps in Nubra including ours work on power generators, Which are switched on after sunset for a couple of hours. We always ensure that fresh food supplies reach the camp and serve fresh food for every meal. We hope that you will recommend our camp to your acquaintances who intend to visit Ladakh. Regards Manager - Operations
