We travelled here with four friends and families on a weekend trip for one night and stayed at this hotel. The hotel area is vast with multiple water bodies, lots of trees and decks to relax. The food ( primarily bengali) was very good, the fish preparations were delicious, specially pomphret. We had children and they also cooked light food on request for children. The staff is very co-operaive. The rooms are basic but ok for a short stay. The rooms need better maintenance..locks not working..taps broken etc.The property being vast has better maintenance than the rooms.Vast spaces to chillax. If you are afraid of dogs...AVOID this place...it is infested with stray dogs...and they are constantly at you..its a big nuisance. For those travelling in the summer..the ACs' are not available 24 hrs..its closed down in the evening and early morning. Overall a good budget hotel for a short & quiet stay.

We travelled here with friends. The group included 13 adults of 5 couples and 3 single males, a kid of 4 yrs, and an infant of 7 months. The property is one of the most spacious property of Tajpur - 15 bighas with 3 waterbodies within its own premises. The property seemed to be nicely maintained apart from the rooms. The trees are trimmed to look beautiful the water bodies are clean and soothing to eyes. We went there for 1 night arriving around 12 noon and leaving the next day post lunch. Best part was the absence of one of the most common problem faced in these kind of places in Bengal - bad behaviour of people servicing or no service at all. The place has very amicable staffs always willing and trying to help with a wide smile on their face made the stay even more joyous.

Positives:
The property is beautiful and it feels good to just loiter around in it, and with about 21K sq m of property size you have ample of space to do so.
The food was extremely good. We planned to eat out in the shacks in beach but after having one meal there we ended up doing all the meals there. The pomphret was excellent, but will depend if a fresh catch is available
Unlimited boating is allowed in the campus waterbody.
Good news for anglers - they allow fishing, if you make a catch and decide to keep it then there is a charge else it is free. We didnt do it but were told.
The

Negatives:
Rooms are not in good shape.
Few rooms have that eerie smell inside.
Bathroom locks for multiple rooms were broken
2 towels each room was not available (On requesting they tried their best to arrange for as many as they could, remeber the service was good)
The place is not on the main paved road of Tajpur, you will have to take an offtake and travel through a unpaved road for 200m, can be problematic in case of heavy shower.
A bit costly for a place like Tajpur

To sum up we enjoyed and will surely come back again.

The hotel is very good, friendly staffs, helpful reception, good food, and also a good environment... 2 ponds(lakes) surrounded by lights and trees beside them nice cottages, clean and big lawn makes it beautiful... Now You think why average??? Its because of 2 reasons, 1. you can not use A.C by your choice, they starts it at about 11.00 a.m till 5.00 p.m then shuts it down and again starts it at about 10.00 p.m till 6.00 am... It seems peculiar to me... 2. the Beach is far away from the hotel (near about 1 k.m by road and 15 mins walking distance by short route)... Otherwise every thing all right...

Beware of this hotel and do not make any booking.
I booked two deluxe cottages in this hotel during Christmas time in Dec 2014 and paid an advance booking amount. On the day of actual travel, the booking was cancelled and I was told that I will be refunded the booking amount. Since then I have been following up with the hotel booking incharge Mr. Bappa. Its been over a month and they have not refunded a single penny. That guy has been giving me numerous excuses for not refunding the amount and now he has stopped receiving my phone call.
I feel cheated and shocked that such a fraudulent so-called resort exists in today's connected world.

This was my second trip to India (from Romania) and my fiancé and I were on our one and a half month trip around West Bengal.
We stayed for 5 days, although we wished we booked more, but the trip schedule was already made.

Situated in a nice, quiet place, surrounded by (I believe man-made) lakes and lush vegetation, this is a great place to unwind, and forget about the day to day worries.

Since the area is a new spot for tourism, and people haven't heard a lot about it, it not as crowded as the nearby (more well known) places of Digha or Mandarmani. We heard about it from an indian friend who had visited Tajpur before, and heard we planned to go to the area.

The beach (Bay of Bengal) is situated 20 minutes away, at a leisurely pace, passing by a Hindu Temple. We were told we could ask for transportation from the resort to the beach, but we felt no need to do so.

We booked the bamboo cottage which was big enough and furnished with a large bed and a table stand with a TV, which we didn’t find the need to turn on since there were plenty of interesting things to do within the resort itself. The cottages come with attached bathrooms. Each cottage also has a table with bench (made of bamboo) outside its entrance which is perfect to sit out and eat or play board games. Upon check-in, we were asked if we want portable air conditioning/cooling, but we found the ceiling fan to be more than sufficient.

The resort is huge and has the feel of a village within a village, and it is expanding. The property also has 2 lakes which can be used for boating paddle boats, free of charge. We were invited to use the lakes for fishing, but that was out of our skill set :). There are swings, slides and even a carrom board for entertainment.
By the lakes there are wooden beach chairs which we sometimes used to eat breakfast or just lounge around by the lakes.

Food was awesome (indian style), 3 meals a day plus evening snacks. All the food was cooked on the spot, on request. Tip: try the 'aloo paratha' ;). Although mouth-watering, food is not at all expensive, 2 people x 3 meals + snacks we hovered about 300 rupees (4 euros) per day. Because we wanted to sample as much as possible, we ordered different foods every day, and let's just say that there was nothing left on the plates at the end ;).

What we found unbelievable was that there were no mosquitoes, not in the hut, nor outside. I don't know how this was achieved, but it is a big plus.

The staff was friendly, and very helpful with all our requests.
At the end of our stay, the owner/manager, Mr. Bappa, helped us with tips for our onward journey, and with transportation from the resort to Digha, where he had a bus booked. On arrival he also arranged for us to be picked by car from the bus route, and brought to the resort.

We will love to go back there, preferably sooner than later.

Tajpur is a place, where you would like to go to spend your weekend with friends/spouse/family in a peaceful, serene atmosphere; far away from the maddening crowd of city crowd, your work, your monotonous daily routine.

How to reach
===========
There are 3-4 trains running to-and-fro on Howrah to Digha route. Best to catch Tamralipta Express (Dept: 06.40 AM Howrah). Get down at Ramnagar Bengal PH (Sch. Arr: 9.46 AM) (or you can even get down at Digha as well, but Ramnagar is nearby around 20 mins drive from station to the resort). If you are first timer better to arrange a vehicle in advance from Station; you may even speak to hotel authority to arrange for the same.
By route, you can drive to the resort directly. From Contai-Digha route. From Contai it is around 6-7 Kms.

About the resort
=============
Hotel Lake View definitely compliments the place. The property is beautifully placed, covering a vast area with lots of water bodies (mainly for cultivating fish and for boating). The proximity of Tajpur sea beach is about 15-20 mins walk from the main entrance of the resort. Reaching there have your breakfast(timing is 8 AM - 10 AM) and a little rest can go out to explore the area and beach. Have fresh air to rejuvenate your body :-). Or you can go for fishing with the resort premise.

Rooms - The Cottage Rooms are thatched and sufficient enough for 2-3 people. A sofa is there and a center table. Rooms are equipped with LCD TVs(almost all, though few were with exceptions).
The bathrooms are neat and clean. If you are going in Winter, you can ask the service boy to arrange a bucket of hot water.

Services - The room services were good and the people were polite and courteous, and they showed very good hospitality. Even they arranged for fully boiled rice, Dal and potato for my 2 years old kid. Any need you can ask them and they will be happy to help you.

Foods - The foods were tasty and reasonably priced considering the place. We been 5 people and 3 of us were really foodie. The quantity of the served dishes were sufficient enough for a person. And yes, do not forget to try Pomfret and Betki fish. The preparation was mouth watering. In diner, we had taken Fried Rice and Chilli Chicken and those were also quite good. IN the breakfast you usually would get Poori-sabji or Veg Chow.

In and around - In the lake, you have options for boating & fishing. Near you cottage 2 deck chairs are there with shade. From resort ask any person for the nearby pitch-road and walk down to the beach. The water is pleasant and on the beach you would notice lots of red crabs. There were few thatched huts which serves food. So after you have your bath, can have your lunch from there.

Getting back - Though you would start liking the place from the 2nd day onwards but sadly, you have to be back to your city. Arrange a vehicle till Digha station and board your train to Howrah. You can even board your train from Ramnagar, provided it halts there.

Overall it is a very good place to break your monotony and to recharge yourself. Have a good trip :-) !!!

This is the very nice resort in Tazpur area. I stayed earlier one more resort but this place is really nice. All supportive workers. Owner came to ask 2 to 3 times whether there is any problem we are facing or not.he asked about our suggestion to improve it and he explained us about his future plan that there will be 2 swimming pool very soon.this is the best part we felt that owner is looking and taking care of guest .This resort is big with 3 big pond or man made lake. Front lake you will find bamboo cottage beside. In 2nd lake you will find AC deluxe cottage where we stayed with our 2 kids.our cottage number was 37 and size of the room was big to stay 2 adult and 2 kids. Rooms were clean. Big toilet and clean. AC facilities are there but we didn't feel to put on AC. Foods were too good specially Bengali local food. But don't try Chinese. It should be improved. We tried verities of local food like prawns. .vetki. .pomfret in different types of preparation and we found very tasty. Even dal and alu vindi. Really good. At evening we tried french fry.pomfretfry..vegetable pakora. .chicken pakora with chilled beer. Ambiance was such that we were sitting beside lake and enjoying evening. You can enjoy fishing and paddle boat at Lake.

Disadvantage is beach is little far but they will arrange van for drop and pick up from beach which is only rupees 40 per van and 4 persons. But if you can walk then you can reach beach within 15 min walk.

But this resort is enough to pass your 2 days weekend very peacefully.

We will go this place again and again and will highly recommend those who are visiting tajpur. You can get pick up and drop nearby rail station Ramnagar.

There resort is very big. There are three ponds. I should suggest the Ac deluxe room (from room no 35 to 38). don't stay at Bamboo cottage if you are with your family.

Food is very good specially Bengali food. Chinese food is not good.

The manager and owner is very caring.

for 2-3 days its ok.

Sea is very far. walking distance almost 15 minutes. You can hire Toto (Rs.50) or Van.

The hotel is okay. They have open space, small hut and good ambience. Enough open space are there in the hotel. However, the air conditioning systems works on the day time only. And on our last day they kept it off. That was a bad experience. The food was good and not very expensive. The beach is near about 20 min walking from the hotel. Last thing, they doesn't accept cards, only cash.
