We went to Lanesboro for the biking and chose Habberstad House as a place to sleep. It was much more--a beautiful home with gracious hosts and wonderful hospitality. It is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The gardens are beautiful. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed and more. A welcoming glass of wine was much appreciated, and we... More

We stayed in the carriage house due to our wedding weekend and needing some extra space. The carriage house was immaculately clean and we were blown away at how big the space was. Breakfast was brought to us each morning and because of wedding activities, they were so helpful about accommodating the time food was delivered. The food was simply... More

Dave and Nancy run an operation that is nothing short of amazing. We stayed in the Scandinavian Room and were instantly blown away upon seeing the room. It was beautifully furnished and went so far above and beyond what the pictures showed it as. The private balcony was fantastic for enjoying a quiet evening watching the fireflies or hearing the... Just returned from a weekend with my husband in Lanesboro, MN and we stayed at the Habberstad House. Dave and Nancy are the most wonderful inn-keepers. Their hospitality, excellent breakfasts, historical knowledge and fine recommendations made our stay seem way too short! The accommodations were fantastic -- the whole house was beautifully decorated, each piece carefully chosen, and the place... More

My wife and I started at this B&B in the last few days. The Victorian home was exceedingly well furnished with sturdy, period appropriate furnishings. The breakfasts were fabulous, the rooms spotless and the hosts, Nancy and Dave engaging, good conversationalists and very nice people. You will not want to miss this one.

We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years. Some were too lacy and filled with bric a brac. Many were not memorable. And some owners clearly should have been in a different business. Habberstad House is the perfect B&B to my mind. It is charming, meticulously maintained (amazing for a house built in the 1800's) and comfortable to boot.... More

I've never been so impressed with a B & B. The room was cozy, and we had a sitting room and outdoor porch all to ourselves. The food was excellent beginning our breakfast with fresh fruit on a slice of homemade pound cake with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. This was followed by individual Dutch Apple pannekoeken and... More

My siblings and their spouses have made a point of getting together for a number of years --- no children or grandchildren – just my two sisters, my brother and I and our spouses. Except this year, my wife and my brother had gone to be with the Lord. The eight now reduced to six. So, it took a special... More

We first honeymooned at Habberstad House in 2011 - staying in the carriage house. Dave and Nancy were the perfect welcoming hosts. We returned for our 2 year anniversary in 2013 - staying in the house rather than the carriage house so we could be more social. Again, Dave and Nancy were the perfect hosts and were amazing at helping... More

My Husband and I wanted to get away for a couple of days after Christmas to relax, read and snowshoe. The Habberstad House was absolutely delightful. We opted to stay in the carriage house as we'd done our share of visiting throughout the season and just wanted some time together to recharge. It was perfect in every way. Dave suggested... More
