This resort is top-notch for an "Up North" experience. The lake is quality, but quaint. The managers are an outstanding young couple. Mike and Sara are an outgoing and exceptionally nice young couple. What's cool, not only do they take great care of the facility, they have long history on this lake and live a "Northwoods" life. Owners are genuine,... More

Such a great place. Will be returning every year. Mike and Sara are great managers. Beautiful lake, close to Ely. Quiet, serene, peaceful, etc. Great beach for kids too. Northernair is the only lodge on Lake Mitchell, which is nice.

This was our first visit to Northernair Lodge; we were invited by some friends. We stayed in cabin 17 and absolutely loved it. Cabin 17- an older, quaint and more rustic cabin. It was perfect for our liking! The view is, no doubt, the best of all the cabin options. Mike and Sarah were so kind, accommodating and were wonderful... More

We stayed at the wonderful Northernair Cabins last August. The cabin was great, especially enjoyed the beautiful view of lake. We took advantage of provided firewood and had several campfires (and enjoyed quick switch flip to enjoy indoor fireplace). We also spent a lot of time on the screened in porch with lake view. Exploring Lake Mitchell in free kayaks... More

We love this place; just returned home from our second year. Mike and Sarah who manage the place are terrific and this time we met the owners! The lake is private and secluded, which makes the kayaking, canoeing and fishing all the more fun. This place is not for everyone, the bathrooms in the cabins are a little spartan, but... More

I've been taking summer vacations at Northernaire for the past 4 years and plan on returning again this next summer. It's the next best thing to camping out in the woods, only with the comforts of home. Great screened porches, beautiful views, comfortable beds, nice kitchens, and great managers Mike and Sarah who really make you feel welcomed. Whether you... More

We made the trip to Northernair in Oct and we loved everything about our stay. It feels remote but is so close to Ely that it's incredibly easy to run into town to grab supplies, grab a coffee, or walk around town … yet 10 min away we able to completely escape! We have a 13 mo old and were... More

This was my third visit to Northernair Lodge in 4 years. The first time was incredible and each visit gets better than the last! My family loved our cabin. The kids played outside nearly the entire visit. They loved the sauna and the lake. We loved playing games in our screen porch. Can't wait to get back next year and... More

This was our fifth stay at Northernair and it never gets old. Fishing and kayaking and reading and hiking and Scrabble and scotch and eating (Zups has great steaks and sausages they make themselves) and just listening to the wind and lake. I caught a smallmouth bass off of our dock with a floating rapala. We saw what must be... More

We have stayed at Northernair Lodge off and on for the past 20 years. We loved it back then, and we love it even more now. The call of the loons is our favorite part of the trip and the night before we left, the lake was like glass and the loons' call echoed throughout the woods and lake. It... More
