This 9 cabin resort is on North Shore Senic Drive. The owners have made the cabins & many of the artistic furnishings out of the timber including the queen size beds. The 2BR, 1BA is $200/night & has everything including Internet, fireplace, & big TV. It has 2 futons & is perfect for families. Breakfast is served whatever time works...

If you really want to experience what is so famous about the North Shore of Lake Superior, this has it all. First, the site is removed enough from the Lake that you won't get battered in a storm, but close enough that the shimmering chi of its water bathe you in all seasons. Second, the decor is personal, north woodsy...

Unfortunately I failed to search prior reviews before arriving at the inn. When we arrived and entered the 3 Bears Cottage I was sorely disappointed to find the pictures posted on their site did not accurately reflect the well-worn condition of the accommodations. The king size bed was very uncomfortable and the queen room's decor was a bit creepy. Our...

We had a fantastic time at the Inn on Gitche Gumee! We stayed in the Hideout cabin, which was clean, had a comfy bed, and a whirlpool tub. Each morning we'd drink our coffee on the deck overlooking the lake (across the road) and the beautiful grounds. One night they even set us up for a bon fire. An added...

My wife and I were driving late on hwy 61 along the shore of Lake Superior, looking for a place to stay and happened upon the Inn on Gitche Gummee. We spoke with a couple out front taking an evening stroll and they highly recommended the place. Venturing to see if they had anything available, we wandered in and, speaking...

We chose this inn for a last minute weekend getaway. The inn sits on a hillside across the road from Lake Superior. Although the room description claims a “view of the Duluth Harbor Aerial Lift Bridge”, you will need your binoculars to actually see it. Otherwise, it does have a nice view of the lake, and that is about the...

This was our second stay here in two years. Each has been wonderful. Butch and Julie are very accommodating and welcoming people. The suite in which we've stayed each time is dog friendly, so we can sit on our deck with our Golden, watch the lake, and enjoy a pizza that we've picked up from Clearwater Grille, just 1.5 miles...

This is our 2nd time here. We were here years ago and enjoyed it. This time is no less enjoyable. Butch and Julie (owners) are very nice, accommodating and down to earth. The location is 3 miles north of Duluth on the north shore. We enjoy gazing out over Lake Superior and their gardens. The rooms all have different themes....
