The rooms by the pool seriously need an update, downright nasty. Stains and damage all over the room. Even if they have to fix them one at a time it could be done. I don't think the ones we have been in have been touched since they opened. Pool hours should be 9 p.m. and then adults only and noise...

I had written a review of the Black bear casino/hotel 1 year ago..A review any business would be proud of.Since then our last visit was poor with extreme noise in adjoining rooms that management did nothing about and poor wait times and food at the buffet. Last night we got there at 6.35 (check in is 4pm) and after a...

Stayed here one night because Duluth hotels were sold out. I found it to be an ok resort. As you walk through the main entrance, the casino is right there. It is loud, so expect it. As well, smoking is permitted so expect smoke smell. Room was tidy and did the job for the night. Average room with average size....

Tower room are great and the beds are awesome. However the old section has rooms with stained carpet . Be sure to go to the morning buffet! It's great. They have made to order omlets with great sweet rolls.

We stayed here as a cousins girl's weekend. There was no entertainment or even a DJ in the bar/casino so we were a bit disappointed. Our room was nicely decorated, updated and spacious. The Seven Fires restaurant was the best part of the location. The food and service were terrific! You do need to make reservations as it fills-up quickly....

We stayed one night in the older part of the hotel. I was a little worried as the price was very cheap. But the room was fine. There is smoking everywhere it seems and even our nonsmoking room had a hint of smoke. But not bad. The buffets were well priced and the food was good. The golf course was...

We decided to stay at black bear on a whim for our anniversary. We booked the hotel room the same day we were to arrive. The price was reasonable in the fact that we would be spending money there at the hotel and casino. I was surprised that you could smoke in the casino and some of the hotel rooms!...

We stayed in the older portion of the hotel since it was the only suite room available. Had 2 queens and a sleeper couch. The beds were okay, but the carpet was old and stained. Keep your shoes on! The sleeper couch was old, probably original to the hotel. When you sit on it, you sink down. The blanket provided...

We chose to stay here for a recent weekend trip to Duluth. The only pro to this place is that it is only a short 20 minute drive to Duluth. We stayed in the new tower and while the rooms themselves look nice enough at first glance.. the stale smoke smell is literally enough to make you wanna barf! There...
