It’s 10 at night, the first night of two I reserved at this hotel. Instead of enjoying my evening, I’m furiously trying to find another hotel to get out of this place. When I called to reserve a room (and asked again at checkin for the quiet room with a bay view I reserved) (the more expensive of rooms available in this hotel), I was told, “yes, you are in a quiet room” Once we got checked into our 3rd floor room, we quickly knew the room was nothing as described. We literally feel like we are in the middle of a Grand Prix raceway. The noise from the non stop traffic outside our window will ensure we have the worst nights sleep of our 5 hotel stays from Chicago through Michigan. 3 were IHG hotels. I should have known better when I noticed a “sound machine” on the nightstand. Turning it on we had the added noise of something like tuning your radio on to non stop static. When we arrived, we also got the unwelcome surprise that there was no public parking. Guests have two choices. Either you feed a meter every 3 hours and likely get a parking ticket, or you agree to a valet charge of $15 per day that you have no choice but to pay. This, added to my “bay view premium rate” on the traverse city raceway outside my window, has me feeling angry and duped. For the record, when I complained, the front desk said they would not let us leave one day early without charging us in full. I asked to speak to the manager. After one hour of trying to hunt down the manager, the front desk called me back and agreed to let us checkout without penalty. I believe this was because we booked directly with the hotel. We cannot recommend this hotel!

Hotel Indigo is a modern and newish hotel with convenient access to the downtown and a lovely view over West Bay. Valet parking is required and currently 15.00/day. The staff are very efficient and personable so it wasn't much of an inconvenience but good to be aware of before checking in. My king room with bay view was spacious with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. Because the hotel is located beside a busy road, traffic noise can be a problem. I also experienced some hallway noise about 12 am which was annoying. The staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful and although breakfast isn't included in your room rate, the cafe downstairs served very good food.

Valet was quick and easy, necessary as downtown location. Two rooms located on third floor - beautiful view of the water. Traffic had a little noise from road, but not undoable. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Huge walk in showers, good for the 2 year old. Didn’t care for the barn door, with no lock- but it wasn’t a big deal. Beds were comfortable and they located us in adjacent rooms. Big plus in allowing us to communicate easily. Breakfast was cook to order and delicious. Staff was very helpful. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

Beautiful views. Very friendly and helpful staff from valet to cleaning teams. Modern, fun designs throughout the building. Love the rain shower and size of shower. Roof top bar and restaurant are fun-food was delicious. Very comfortable bed. Centrally located with almost everything within walking distance. Valet parking.

The valet parking is very convenient and required I believe. The car was always ready within 5 minutes of asking for it. We were able to walk to a number of bars, restaurants, and the beach for some lake gazing. There is a bar inside that we stopped a couple of time with excellent service and good live music on Saturday night which was a nice surprise! I think there is a bar on the roof but it was not open during our visit (early season). The room was very clean and modern but no fridge which would be handy. Comfortable bed, good towels, and a spacious shower. Would gladly stay again.

Beautiful decor in this fairly new property. Great location to all things downtown. The room service and food ... outstanding. The service is excellent. I was a little disappointed with the echo in the room, but the view was excellent. You can see as far out into the West Bay of Grand Travers Bay, beautiful! I think the room should have more furniture to absorb the noisy Grandview Parkway traffic, cray busy even in December. Overall very nice, and I would stay again. I do not agree with the very low rating and review provided by Yahoo Jess. The service was great, and the hotel very clan and safe.

Accommodations are very nice but very noisy! Beautiful bay view but when traffic picks up at 5AM, it's so loud. Walls are pretty thin too....we heard voices and footsteps all night. Nice bar in the lobby with friendly staff. I would not recommend a bay view room here unless you don't mind being awakened at 5AM.

Absolutely terribleand unprofessional staff. Just had the worst experience ever. I'm booked for 4 nights at this hotel in Traverse city. I asked for a room on a higher floor at check in and the front desk woman looked and found one. When I got to my room the window looks at a brick wall. I went downstairs to ask for a new room for my 4 night stay. That was not facing a brick wall. The manager Cody said there was nothing available and I mentioned that the woman who had checked me in had said there was other rooms just minutes ago. I believe that this is discrimination against single women giving them the worst room in the hotel in the hopes they don't complain. I also mention this to Cody who then proceeded to tell at me in the lobby. He became totally unhinged yelling at me and was extremely unprofessional. My view of a brick wall for $400 a night is just ridiculous!

Room Tip: Avoid Cody at the front desk. Guessing that all rooms that end in 31 look at a brick wall.

Very nice accommodations here. Rooms large, plenty of room for us. The shower is also nice. Upstairs patio has bar and restaurant with great views of the area. Lobby has spacious bar and restaurant also. We booked a room overlooking bay. Great view but noisy traffic below. Close to Front street with all of the shops.
