We stayed recently to break up a long journey to the south west, so all we needed was a safe, warm and comfortable overnight stay. This was exactly what we got. The room was very clean and cosy, the bed was very comfortable, tea, coffee and biscuits, free wifi - what more could you want! We loved the privacy of... More

I was really disappointed with my stay here. To start with there was nobody on duty at reception either on my arrival or departure although to be fair I had been phoned and warned of this (but only a couple of days beforehand). I only realised the implications when I arrived. There were two phone numbers on the reception door... More

If you want a 5 star hotel then this is not the place for you. However, if you want somewhere that is spotlessly clean and good value for money then there can be nowhere better. This was our second visit and we will certainly go there again should we need to stay in the area in the future. It is... More

Oh yes the room was clean. What else nothing. When I book a twin room for two 60/70 year old friends who don't want to sleep in the same bed) I expect a room with twin beds. not a double bedded room with a single shoved against the wall obviosly for a child who doesn't want a bedside table to... 8 of us stayed here recently when attending a wedding. Could not fault the place, we arrived early and 3 of the 4 rooms were ready which was not a problem. Continental breakfast was ample with plenty of choice. I also received a call from the owner (Simon) the night before to discuss arrangements for out arrival. An excellent taxi... More

Thank you, Annabel, for a fabulous break at Park and Lodge over the Christmas period. The room was warm and cosy on arrival on Christmas Eve. You had set the room up with everything we needed for our 3-day stay, and the well stocked breakfasts plus milk were very welcome. I don't think I have slept in a more comfortable... More

Stay here regularly for work. The place is consistently clean and tidy; well looked after and maintained. The owners are friendly, relaxed yet professional in approach and always willing to support your requests. Can't write a review without mentioning the exceptional food and atmosphere at the Merry Harriers bar next door. Take out ales too!
