We've stayed here 3 times in the past 6 months on visits to Saginaw, and every time our stay has been pleasant. The staff are friendly, the rooms are nice, the breakfast is great, the hotel is close to the highway and surrounded by any kind of shopping you can imagine. The pool has been closed due to Covid, but I did use the exercise room on our last visit and the equipment was clean and fresh towels were provided.
We were given room 114 first. As soon as we walked in the smell hit us. Beyond the smell, the room had dead flies on the bedding and the comforters were very worn and looked awful. I went into the bathroom and the fan was SO loud. There was dead flies all over the floor, used soap in the shower and the tub was black on the bottom. I went to the front desk and she moved us to 218. That room was a bit better but for $183 a night I’d expect more. The bedding was in better shape and the beds comfy but the bathroom was filthy. Lots of hair on the floor, no soaps or toilet paper (in either room), no phone or alarm clock (again, in either room) and the tub was so gross and dirty. We checked out early and moved hotels. The lady at the desk was very kind but I’d never stay here again. It needs a major overhaul.…
I chose this location as it was well rated on Tripadvisor based on reviews (4.5 stars). Upon my arrival (2 hours) after check in time I was informed my room was not ready and that it would be about 30 - 45 minutes. I had just travelled 12 hours and wanted to relax so this was not a good start. After finally checking in and getting to my room things continued to go downhill. There were no light bulbs in the lights by the bed, no phone in the room, fan and a couple of lights did not work in the bathroom either. When I left my room, I quickly found out that the door did not latch properly so anyone could just push on the door and get into the room without a key card. I do have to say that the housekeeping person that assisted me was AMAZING, wish I had her name as she was extremely helpful. I understand the times we are coming out of and that help is hard to find right now but using COVID-19 by your staff for every excuse as to why things were not up to standard should be unacceptable. I would think that front desk staff would be more willing to make an experience great. The manager did try to make things right when checking out, however, the discount I received after the very poor 4 day stay was not enough in my mind to make me stay there again or recommend this stay to anyone. I will definitely be willing to pay a little extra next visit if it means I am staying at a more customer oriented hotel.…
Property is comfortable, clean and well equipped, as well as being located nearby many dining and grocery options. Minor room issue was dealt with promptly by the friendly and attentive staff. A good option for an evening right off the interstate.
We stayed here overnight while traveling on I-75, leaving Mackinac Island on our way to Atlanta. The hotel was convenient to the highway and many restaurant choices. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable but a little shabby in places, and there were water stains in the bathroom. The complimentary breakfast was OK: it was tasty enough but the selection and quantity were not as good as at comparable places. The attendant was working hard but seemed overwhelmed, and overall the breakfast room was ot all that clean. The nightly price was reasonable. All in all OK, but could have been better.
