Our room smelled and was not clean! Everything was very old and the bed was dirty and broken down. I guess paying 160$ for a room no longer guarantees you will get something clean and comfortable. Marriott must have seriously lowered their standards because I was told 30$ was sufficient compensation! Do not waste your money staying here!
This location was excellent for my husband and I, since Midland was 22mins or less to Midland/ Dow plus our future house ( buying ) was 13min away. Staff was excellent and professional. Housekeeping was friendly and gave us cleaning stuff for our egg stick pan with scrubby. Our king size bed was heaven, especially after returning from hour and half trip to Chesterfield township to my baby sister, brother-in-law and my 2 nephews( Detroit area ). Bay city and Mt pleasant were not to far away. Meijer’s, Panera Bread, Cabelas and Target right outside within a block or less. The flowers below were from my hotel window. This hotel is pet-friendly, yes we have 2 little ones, they were spending time with grandparents ( my parents) in Kalamazoo only 2hrs away.
Beware! We booked 2 rooms through the Bonvoy app using points. After driving over 2 hours, they tell us that we don't have enough points for 2 and that I'd have to pay for the 2nd. I showed her in the app where we had 2 and she basically said oh well and that we had to call Marriott. They knew about this early today but apparently couldn't be bothered to call us and tell us before we drove all the way here...
Our one-night stay here enhanced by friendly hostess Monica for the "MixIn"--her welcoming smile brought us in to share a few minutes and a glass of wine with one of the longer-stay residents who turned out to be fascinating. This apparent feature of Residence Inns was offered 6:30 to 7:30 pm--we didn't try the appetizers. Monica was back for the breakfast hour with good cheer and surprisingly good coffee: in the elevator going down to breakfast we met someone carrying his own coffeemaker and we had added a coffeemaker to our van for this cross-country trip because coffee in most hotels and gas stations is notoriously weak, but this Marriott's simple regular coffee was full-bodied and more than acceptable. Our Queen suite had a full refrigerator/sink/cooktop and a good door between the bedroom & living room, windows that opened. Our pets (two cats) were welcome, although for a fee--they have been cross-country several times and are good travelers. To make sure that our pets--and yours?--are always welcome, we carry a portable vacuum. Dinner choice was Dave's Famous BBQ, where we both chose the chopped salad with slices of BBQ beef after having tried this in another city. Rachel was our server--another cheerful Saginaw representative. …
I've stayed here for both a few days and a few weeks for business trips. While the kitchens need an upgrade, the rooms are a good size, the bed is comfortable, the shower is excellent, and the staff is friendly. There are a lot of things offered for breakfast, but most of the food is merely OK. The eggs cannot stay hot in the container they are held in, the fruit is often unripe, but you can always do toast or a bagel and cream cheese. It would also be nice not to have the TV on in the breakfast room. The social gatherings in the evening are very nice, and the food at these events is good. Everyone on the staff is pleasant and helpful. If you are there for an extended stay, the washers and dryers are clean and not too expensive. The exercise room is small but adequate. The hotel is also pet friendly. It is definitely my go-to hotel in Saginaw.…
Hotel is clean, room was clean and breakfast was good. My room key didn't work for any of the outside doors and also didn't work for the pool area. I had to call the front desk for them to let me into the pool. Also received a phone call after midnight from the front desk saying that my pizza was there and I didn't even order food, I was sound asleep. Next time I am in the area I will stay elsewhere.
Had a nice stay, spacious room with a comfortable bed. Close to everything, will request a room on second floor in the future as when there are kids in town for soccer games it can be loud on first floor. Place was busy with Frankenmuth auto fest and other activities. Good breakfast selection, clean rooms, and friendly staff.
This is our go to place in Saginaw, Michigan. Conveniently located just off the freeway. The staff are excellent, from the desk clerks, to the breakfast room, to house keeping. This is our favorite hotel in Saginaw.
Hi everyone, I am a long time Marriott member. So by that measure, I can anecdotally compare and contrast properties. First, it is difficult to find a decent Marriott brand facility in Michigan. Marriott uses a franchisee model, and the variability shows. Their properties in the U.S. range from awesome to awful. The rooms at this hotel are clean. However, the rooms look like they’re well utilized or due for a refurb. The breakfast area is questionable. It looks like the dishwasher, if automatic, is on the blink. At the beginning of the breakfast hour, too many things looked due for a wipe down. Fruit placed out was overripe. In addition, patrons were in the breakfast area with no shoes and shirts. Appetizing! Good hotels and restaurants get the small details right. As I sit on my stained couch with a sagging spring, I’d submit this one does not execute on the finer details. The place is okay overall but the value for the dollar is not proportional. If you have options, do consider them, especially lower priced ones where the value balance is better. To follow, you’ll now get the reactive, rehearsed corporate apologists. ...2422. …
I was in town for business for five days and was really happy with hotel and staff. The breakfast was pretty decent and I'm glad I had fridge, microwave and stove in room in case I wanted to cook or warm up some leftovers. The room is spacious and clean. There was a kids soccer league staying at the same time so there was some kids around hotel playing around basketball court so this is a family friendly hotel. I also saw family's playing pool and outside by Fire pit hanging out some evenings. I would definitely come back again. I took a drive to Frankenmuth, MI which was about 50 minutes away from hotel.
