We were looking for something quaint and quiet, somewhere that was clean and that accepts dogs. This was a great find! The owners were so kind - they even invited us to their birthday cook-out. The pet-friendly room was well thought out in order to ensure its cleanliness (bedspread was easily washable, no bed skirt, and they have a special...

We found the stay to far exceed our expectations very clean and the kitchen included all anemities, the owners were very helpful and friendly. I have experianced less quality and cleanliness in rooms costing twice as much. We also recieved dinner recommendations and the food at the Portage restaurant was second to none. I would highly recommend the stay at...

We found the Grand Lake Hotel to be reasonably priced clean and quaint. The owner Christie was more than accommodating especially when we locked ourselves out of the room. She recommended two restaurants. We chose the Portage. The food was good and the view was beautiful. We are returning later this month. Can't wait to use the fire pit.

We stayed here for one night on our tour of the east coast of Michigan. Great location on Grand Lake and we were fortunate to have the place to ourselves. Offers a club house with a fridge, microwave, tables, tv and games. Hammock, paddle boat, horseshoes and firepit, and covered building for grilling out are some of the other amenities....

My husband I were able to get away for a few days. We picked a location destination and set to work finding lodging. We happened upon The Grand lakes Resort and booked our room. We couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The woman who runs the place is very helpful and friendly. The place itself was very charming....

My cousin and I had the best time. The water was refreshing the room was comfortable everything we needed for a light breakfast, and lots of room to roam. This resort would be perfect for a family reunion. They have a big clubhouse with a beautiful fireplace.

The rooms in the back are special. They have a lot of character... great view of the lake. The rooms in the front closer to the road are yet not bad either and newer. This is much better than anything around Alpena or Rogers City for a mom and pop motel.... Yet, it is half way between the two towns....
