Lovely small hotel with air con (thank goodness).
Parking nearby on the square outside or not far away.
Beds have a plastic cover which is not a great idea - noisy & clammy ugh.
Breakfasts tasty & adequate & typical French.

Charming Pension with impeccable welcome and service. Superb rooms, cozy atmosphere.
A charming and quiet establishment, ideal for a relaxing stay. I highly recommend!
You will have only one regret, that of having to go back but you will definitely come back!

Four of us stayed here recently and were warmly greeted by Caroline who is there during the day and leaves you to your own devices in the evening. She is very helpful with local recommendations and making bookings etc. We were not so enamoured of the "boutique" decorations but the hotel was spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable and the breakfasts (at an extra charge) prepared by Caroline were very good. Parking in the small square just opposite was so easy and free of charge and the road very quiet. Upon reflection, the price for the rooms was a little higher than we would have expected for the location. It was a very pleasant stay, but we would probably look elsewhere if we returned to the Cognac region.

Dear Newburyboy! Thank you for taking the time to review us. I am glad to see you enjoyed your stay. We pay great attention to the cleanliness of our boutique hotel and the very comfy beds are something all clients remark on ! If I remember correctly, you chose the most expensive rooms we have and at there refundable rate, which is the highest rate. Maybe next time, check out our less expensive non refundable rates or special offers. Better still, call me directly! I do hope to see you back again! Kindest regards, Caroline

Gorgeous hotel in the centre of Jarnac, the home of Courvoisier. Easy access to Cognac (10 min drive). Lovely building, beautifully decorated big room and bathroom. Great breakfast. Minutes from the central square, park and some great waterside walks. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Really enjoyed my stay - highly recommended.

Dear Jax! Thank you so much for the great review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much. I'm glad you liked the breakfast too, we made a few changes there recently so it would appear that they are appreciated! Jarnac is a beautiful little town with, as you say, gorgeous walks by the river Charente and famous cognac houses such as Courvoisier only a few minutes walk away for tastings and visits. Hopefully you will make it back again soon! Kind regards, Caroline

I stayed 3 nights in this nice hotel located near the Jarnac center. Room was clean and very comfortable with large and modern bathroom. And even though it was facing the street and opposite to the church, it was quiet.
Hotel stuff was friendly and helpful.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Stayed the night before picking up a boat charter in Jarnac. The hotel is great - central location, historic building with superior rooms, nice breakfast, etc. Caroline, her husband and Solame are what made the place exceptional. They exceeded expectations in helping us in more ways than I can say. When we asked for a cab to take us to the quai, Caroline took us. At their restaurant, Chateaux, we were treated like old friends. Then, a week after we had checked out, we found out train to Angouleme and beyond was on strike, we called her and she arranged a driver to get us to Angouleme - she had no obligation to do so. If you stay there, you will end up having a friend in the area, not a service provider.
The hotel and restaurant are such a good experience that it is worth spending a night in Jarnac just to stay and eat there. If I could give them six stars I would do it.

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Ligaro for two nights while visiting Cognac for a wedding. The hotel is in a historic building but the interior and rooms are new and beautiful. The room was also extremely comfortable. The bed was great and both the bedroom and bathroom were large and modern -- definitely a step up in comfort relative to many of the other hotels we stayed at in France. The hotel is easy walking distance from the main downtown area in Jarnac. Also, if you have a car, there is ample free parking in a lot in front of the hotel -- we never had any trouble finding a space.
Caroline, who owns the hotel with her husband, is a native English speaker and was extremely helpful without being at all overbearing.

We stayed for one night in November. Huge room, fantastic bathroom with enormous shower. Delightful staff. Can't comment on breakfast because we had such a heavy meal the night before at the hotel's sister restaurant that we couldn't face anything more than a cup of coffee! But it looked good. Definitely recommended.

Hello there! I think you may be the lady I spoke with this morning over the phone..? Yes, animals are welcome as long as they are well-behaved and do not disturb other guests. There is a supplement of 15€ to have your pet stay in your room. Ideally you would bring a rug or something for your pet to sleep on. Kind regards, Caroline
