Detailed Reviews
We spent three nights with Mo and Steve and have nothing but praise for their hospitality. They are friendly hosts, the rooms are immaculate, the breakfasts are first class and the cost of the room was very reasonable. Enough said.

We had a week with Steve and Mo off season and were delighted with our choice. Jarnac is lovely and an ideal base for visiting so many interesting places. The b&b itself has spacious clean rooms, it's also near bars and restaurants. The hosts are so pleasant and helpful, towels were changed without us even asking and the local knowledge is there if you need it. Great establishment.

Steve welcomed our group of 6 to his wonderful home and we immediately relaxed. Mo was away for the week but we were lucky enough to meet her during our visits to Jarnac as we cruised the beautiful Charente river over the next week.
What an awesome couple! Mo and Steve your beautiful house you have renovated is a credit to you, not to mention the business you run from it. Hopefully we will return to Jarnac one day and stay again..if you will have us!
Also..thankyou to Steve for organising our dinner booking as our GPS took us the" long way" to Jarnac and made us late!

We stayed 5 nights with my 11 year old son in the family room. We found the B and B very comfortable and clean. The hosts were lovely and warm with great tips on what to do. Breakfast was simple, fresh croissants, danishes and melon ( there is no cooked breakfast and we were aware of this at booking) . I would particularly recommend a visit to the Paleosite- a reconstructed site where a neadrathal woman was found, the town of Saintes which has a Roman amphitheatre and great shops and the aquarium at La Rochelle. Jarnac is a lovely town and not too touristy. My son really enjoyed kayaking on the river. The only negative I can think of is that we found it a bit lacking in family reataurants as we have a fussy son, as most are at that age. The place we did like had a menu, (called D'Unigione I think) but didn't serve food Monday , Tuesday because it was raining, closed early Friday etc! so we never ate there as there was always some excuse. Nice for a glass of wine though. It wasn't really a problem as we decided to eat out at lunchtime when we were out and baguette/ quiche from the patisserie in the evening. Would recommend B and B and Jarnac as a base.

If it hadn't been for Steve and Mo at Enchantee we might never have discovered the sheer tranquility and variety of the Charente region. My wife and I drove to Jarnac as part of a house-hunting trip. Estate agents Charente Immobilier recommended Enchantee. Lost on a pitch-black road in torrential rain, we rang Steve to explain we would be late... "No problem - I'll wait up." We arrived to be met with a really warm welcome, a spotlessly clean place - and a bottle of good wine. And next morning, after a good night's sleep, an excellent breakfast! Steve and Mo became more than just hosts. We think of them as friends and have stayed a couple more times, even been invited to a party there. I didn't know about Trip Advisor then. Had I, I would have said what a fabulous pair they are and what a great place they run. We bought a wee place near Jarnac and have never regretted it. Thanks, Steve and Mo!

Having arrived at the Jarnac Tourist Office they rang Mo, who invited us to come around and see the rooms first. Everything was perfect. Mo's warm greeting, bright sunny, clean rooms with attention to decoration, we were more than happy. Travelling with 2 boys under the age of 4 wasn't a worry for Mo, we had a fantastic adjoining room for them and the price was excellent value for the great quality. Jarnac is a beautiful riverside town, we did a fantastic tour of the Courvoisier Cognac house, again they were great with the boys, and there great playgrounds and the weather was fantastic for a swim in the beautiful Charente River. Breakfast was excellent. We had spent 2 weeks in Paris prior and found our best breakfast at Steve and Mo's. We stayed three nights taking a train to Cognac one day to do the Hennessey cognac house tour, again really good but we were happy with Courvoisier, Jarnac was a beautiful place for walks of the town, river and country. Steve and Mo were just as bright warm and cheerful on the last day as they were the first, helping with a taxi and just lovely to our boys. Having arrived in Jarnac thinking that we were staying at "the Lock Keepers Cottage" which we had been given incorrect directions, and found pretty un-inhabitable on arrival, we were lucky to find Steve and Mo had room and gave us an excellent end to our family holiday in France. Having breakfast with a French Couple, that Mo spoke fluently to, led me to believe Enchantee caters excellently to French, English ---Everyone! Well done Steve and Mo for being outstanding in accommodation, and thank you for such an excellent stay. The Gunton Family - Australia

This is my first review on Tripadvisor. I'm one of the guilty people who always read reviews but never write any, so I thought I'd make a start with 'Enchantee' as I couldn't find any reviews online to help me make my mind up before I booked it.
Enchantee is a beautiful little B&B in Jarnac and to be honest, is a bit of a hidden gem. I stayed here with my wife for 3 nights in July while the 'Blues Passions' festival was on in Cognac (10 minutes away from Jarnac by car). I love drinking Cognac, my wife isn't so keen, however I managed to talk her into a visit because I bought her tickets to see Duffy who was singing at the Blues festival.
We loved our stay at Enchantee. I made our booking over the phone with Mo (who runs the B&B with her husband Steve) and after I mentioned my love of Cognac she gave me details of a Cognac tour at Courvoisier and another tour you have to pre-book at Hine which I hadn't realised are both based in Jarnac on the bank of the Charente river.
When we arrived at Enchantee Steve greeted us at the front door, made us feel welcome with a cup of tea and showed us to our room. We were in the Lilac room and were instantly impressed. We had just arrived from a 3* hotel in La Rochelle which, by contrast, was distinctly average, had shabby decor and wasn't cleaned very well.
The Lilac room was immaculately clean, with an en-suite shower/toilet and was of a much higher standard than many 2 & 3* hotels we've stayed at in France. The room was light, airy and had tea/coffee making facilities as well as a large complilmetary bottle of mineral water.
After a very comfortable nights sleep we enjoyed a Continental breakfast which was more than filling; baguette, croissants, yoghurt & fruit were on offer along with orange juice, coffee and various types of tea.
Mo & Steve were very helpful in telling us about places to go & see in the local area & we found Jarnac itself to be a very charming little town.
We will definitely be returning to both Jarnac & Enchantee.

Home from home on the rue des Fosses in the heart of Jarnac. A quiet street with parking. Mo and Steve made us very welcome indeed. Comfortable rooms and a very good breakfast. Reasonably priced with all you need. Well equipped bathrooms which were clean; good, big towels. And a lovely petit jardin!!

A great welcome from Steve & Mo who made us feel at home. Immaculately clean, lovely and warm on a cold November night, comfy bed and a powerful shower. Everything that you could ask for and topped off with an excellent breakfast in the morning. Amazing value at 55e for the two of us! And slap bang in the middle of Jarnac within walking distance of everything. Will definitely be back.

Stayed with Mo and Steve for 3 nights at the start of our two week tour of the Charente region and one night at the end.
So glad we finished our stay here. It was like staying with family.
Mo and Steve are great hosts and will leave you alone if that's what you want but there to help with whatever if needed, and always good for just a friendly chat.
If were to stay in the region again Enchantee would be top of the list.
Slept well and breakfast was plentiful.
