Exceptional food and wine, great hospitality and a memorable location on the Dordogne. This restored castle has been lovingly restored and is well appointed. The rooms, dining areas and pool are beautiful. We hope to return again.

This is truly out favorite place in France. Beginning with the owner, Francoise, who could not be nicer or more professional to the magic of awakening each morning overlooking the Dordogne River. We stayed three nights and has two rooms in the chateau. Each unique. Francoise has become a dear friend and I look forward to seeing each visit. She...

We saw the hotel advertised on a board by the side of the road and took a chance on visiting. What a lovely experience. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the Dordogne and surrounding cliffs. The meal was very good, beginning with delicious nibbles and then we had the menu terroir and menu gabariers. Very good value for tasty...

We stayed at this lovely, truly ancient (carved stone steps) hotel on our family's summer vacation trip through the Dordogne. It's located high above the river with stunning views from the restaurant at sunset. Cuisine was good if unvarying and particularly if you like goats cheese! This, it seems, is the area for that. Service is very friendly and we...

Fantastic property full of character and in a great location. Lovely restaurant serving local specialities. Good air conditioning in the room, nice pool to relax by and free parking. All reflected in the price but reasonable given the buildings architecture.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful area. We stayed in a room with a view of the Dordogne which was terrific. The bed was large and comfortable and the room furnished with beautiful old pieces. The furniture was not as practical as it could have been as there was not a lot of room for our clothes. The...

This was our second visit in Two years and the memories of the fantastic time we had first time round were recreated on our second visit this June . The welcome and the food is excellent in this 12th century Bishop's Palace overlooking the Dordogne. The airconditioned rooms are spacious and decorated in the period and are clean and atmospheric.La...

Our second visit. All is still excellent in this gorgeous old Bishop's Palace overlooking the Dordogne river. The food is still second to none, the welcome is warm and friendly, the rooms, in what feels like an old chateau are clean and beautifully atmospheric. Dinner is a sumptuous affair with local produce and French flair. The breakfast was sublime with...

We stayed at La Terrasse as part of a walking holiday in the Dordogne. We were delighted by every aspect of it - particularly the beautiful restaurant and it's wonderful fireplace. Françoise is a delightful host and she could not do enough to ensure that my wife's mild food intolerances were catered for. Although we only stayed for one night,...
