My husband and I and another couple spent 5 wonderful October nights at La Maison des Chanoines. We had charming rooms in the ancient family home, equiped with modern comfortable bathrooms. Madame provided us with maps and guides for long walks along paths and farm roads to nearby towns or chateaux, through lovely valleys and lanes, past farms and nut... More

My husband and I just spent two nights at this beautiful spot. The hostess, Chantal, was gracious and extremely helpful. I must give her credit (and thanks) for her English...it was much better than my French. As well as enjoying our lovely room, we feasted on a fantastic local meal prepared by her husband, Claude. Chantel suggested wines to go... More

We have just spent two nights here. Very comfortable peaceful room, simply done but spotlessly clean. We had two dogs with us which was no problem at all. Dinner was excellent and Madame manages to be everywhere all at the same time, making sure everyone is happy with their food and wine etc. It was a delight as is the... More

We had a very comfortable room in the ancient building across the way from the hotel itself. It was decorated in harmony with the age of the surroundings but had a modern well-equipped bathroom. The free wi-fi worked perfectly. The owners are charming (he is the chef) and the food (all locally and freshly sourced) superb.

We stayed here for a night on our way home from the south of France. It’s very convenient just off the motorway south of Brive. Turenne is deservedly a “plus beaux villages de France” and is delightful, with a fine castle perched on the top of the hill and magnificent views over lovely countryside. The Chanoines takes its food pretty... More

This is a beautiful old hotel and we had a large room, very large comfortable bed, dog friendly and spotlessly clean. The restaurant was delightful and quite romantic in the vaulted undercroft, and the food was well presented and delicious. The owners were very friendly and Madame was helpful with the loan of maps and suggestions of where to visit,... More

Our room, whilst not big was well furnished with furniture in keeping with the age of the building. Our bathroom was modern with a large shower. We ate dinner outside in the garden and the food was excellent. I had the best Moules I'd eaten for a long time, the sauce was wonderful! The service was friendly and helpfull The... More

This is a very special place, both because of the great location in this beautiful village and the care and commitment of the owners. La Maison des Chanoines has been in the same family for decades, and they have made the hotel into a lovely place. Our room was immaculate and overlooked the wonderful terrace/garden, just about to burst into... More

As we were staying nearby in a rather basic establishment, we decided to go here for dinner. What a great choice we made. As it the weather was still good, we were able to sit outside on the garden terrace which is opposite the main entrance to the hotel. We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation... What a lovely (and fairly well hidden) location. Sweeping views from the church (and almost everywhere else). La Maison des Chanoines is in the heart of this beautiful little village. We managed to park right outside though still had a bit of a hike to our room with the luggage. The room was pretty with a wide inglenook style fireplace,... More
