Checked in and asked the helpful man on reception to reserve a table for 3 in the restaurant. Arrived later for dinner and was met outside the restaurant by the elderly woman mentioned in other reviews. When I told her (in French) that we had reserved a table in the restaurant I was told that no we hadn't, that was... More

The photos in the reception area show that this was once a Grand Hotel in 1900, but sadly it is now a poor shadow of that. Our room was in the main hotel was reached by crossing the old style restaurant, and threading between tables. I chose a room with a shower (some didn't have these) and paid for a... More

The hotel is centrally located in a charming town in a popular area of France where there is a great deal of hiking, cycling, and other outdoor sports. It has a nice park in front, as well as a swimming pool. They serve meals and there is an area for parking cars. The room was clean but bare minimum of... More

Rooms are still outdated but great value. Stunning grounds. Lovely couple on reception. WiFi works with a bit of bouncing between sources. All in all a lovely stay and would go back. Didn't try restaurant for dinner or breakfast.

I really thought that I had been thrown into the movie set for the Grand Budapest Hotel. My friends and I stayed at the Grand Hotel du Parc while hiking on the Robert Louis Stevenson trail. Some of the reviews suggest that French citizens are treated better than others, first indications were that it was true, with the ancient caretaker... More

We've called here a number of times over the last 20 years. Whilst we have changed quite a bit over that time, the remarkable thing is that the Grand Hotel has stayed precisely the same: same carpets, same anonymous decor (apart from in this room a randomly situated, framed print of Mary Cassat's painting of young girl revealing her underwear... I travel a lot, both for business and for pleasure, and am used to staying in a variety of places. Never ever had I had an experience like this one. I must agree with other reviews that mention a clear difference between the treatment that the French and the non-French receive. This is not a communication problem. I speak adequate... More

Not luxurious but clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely surroundings and great value. An old fashioned, quaint hotel which has changed little over the years. Great place from which to explore the Tarn region or just to stop over 'en route' The Civet de Caneton in the restaurant is excellent.

I must agree with another review about feeling unwelcome. It appears, after reading the English language reviews and then perusing the French, there is definitely a difference in their experiences. The English having negative comments vs. positive for the French. I truly believe this is due to a prejudicial feeling toward non-French speakers. From the moment we entered, we felt... More

"Bizarre" is the adjective another traveler here used to describe this hotel. I agree! When I staggered into this hotel after a rather tough, rainy day on the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail, I found a completely empty hotel with an old German shepherd and rooms that might have seen their best days twenty, thirty years ago. Over the two days... More
