This is how hotels should be - friendly service, comfortable accommodation, charming setting, quiet, good food, well appointed. It's a small family hotel run by an attentive couple who do everything to make you welcome. It's a surprising find at your first visit - turning off a busy uninteresting road into a haven of greenery and quiet. We've stayed there...

I can't say enough good things about this little gem near Macon. Only a few minutes from the autoroute (just off the Macon bypass) and tucked away in a quiet (and VERY unprepossessing) village - the Hostellerie Sarrasine is the sort of place you can only find in France. We stayed as a family of three. Our room had an...

Very friendly and attentive hosts, the wife speaks perfect English Attractive gardens with swimming pool, domestic animals and doves, very nice for our dog. If you like the nature, if you like domestic animals, and if you like to have a romantic stay, don't hesitate to book this hotel. The food, especially the "Poulet de Bresse" is marvellous. Bedding, a very high comfort.

A useful stop in an otherwise poorly served area. Not inexpensive compared to other places of a similar quality but perfectly comfortable. The bistro quality food was fine but didn't match the setting.

We stopped here travelling from Italy to Paris. its a perfect stopover as just a few km off the autoroute. We arrived at almost 21h and the owners were able to prepare a perfect meal with local produce. The hotel is located in Bourg en Bresse, beside Macon, so the speciality is local free range chicken, eggs (butter and cream)...

I have been here with my wife to have a break between our house and our final destination. The hotel is very good, super clean and the owners are just perfect! The rooms are good, shower perfect and the bed is also very good. The food in the restaurant was perfect. And also when you have a dog it is...

This was a welcome stopover travelling from the UK to Italy. It is a lovely converted farmhouse (?) and very convenient as it is just off the motorway. The decor is somewhat interesting, as it is slightly quirky, some may say old-fashioned but we thought it was great-much better than the utility-type plainness you see so often. The evening meal...

Very nice hotel, well kept. Decoration is tasteful, but somewhat old fashioned. We stayed in december, so we can't say anything about the garden. The restaurant was good, more than sufficient for a short stay. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. However, The beds were hard and I woke up feeling all battered and bruised. Still, for all its qualities,...

Its been a few years since we last took the opportunity to stop with this lovely friendly family and their delightful hotel. Initial concerns that it could have changed for the worst were soon dispelled and the warm reception made us feel right at home. Yes the furnishings are chintzy and old fashioned but this is entirely appropriate to the...
