We stayed in the Hotel le Clos Saint Vincent just outside of Ribeauville in 2012 and loved it so much we had to make a return visit in 2021 . Emanuel and his wife Annette help run this family business which has been in operation since the early 1970’s.
Our room, #25 is the best in the property and the setting, the view, the food and above all, the service are as good as anything we have experienced anywhere.
We will be back!!

Wonderful serene location with great views over the Alsace-Lorraine. We stayed for 3 nights and it was hard to leave our deck and the views. Very good breakfast and the hotel fixed a very good simple dinner one night for us. Nice pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke excellant English. Would recommend this to anyone and will definitely return to it. Am not giving this a five star review because the public halls and gathering spaces were a little tired. Our room was great, the dining room was great. We really enjoyed this place.

My husband and I stayed in this nice hotel in September. We had fantastic days. The restaurant, where we had breakfast (very good!!) has also got a beautiful terrace. From there you have a fantastic view over Ribeauville.
There is a indoor-pool, too. From there you can go outside.
To the village you can go by car. But it is also possible to walk for 20 minutes. When we will go to Ribeauville the next time - we are sure - we will stay in this hotel.

The hotel has a beautiful setting in the vineyards above the picture postcard town of Ribeauville in Alsace. We had a very helpful welcome from Olivier, the concierge, and enjoyed a swim and jacizzi in the hotel pool before dinner.

However, our room, which was billed as a superior double room, was certainly not superior. It had the potential for a fine view across the Alsace plain to the Rhine but had a solid balcony wall which meant you saw nothing when seated on the balcony. We were there at a time of sunny days and cool nights, and the room was almost always too cold. We asked about heating several times and were told that it had temeprature controlled under-floor heating. This never came on during our whole stay. Neither did the towel rail in the bathroom, which meant that all the towels remained damp. Eventually we insisted on having a heater brought in, which was done with a very bad grace. One possibly "superior" feature was a toilet separate from the bathroom, but this very small room had no ventilation or air extraction with predictable results.

The hotel had only recently reopened its dining room and was serving only light meals, which suited us fine. However, they turned out to be unrealistically expensive. Looking at the bill, I see that an eau de vie cost E10, a glass of cremant E8.50, a bottle of mineral water E5, a a croque monsieur (slightly burned) E15.

Great location, breathtaking views of the Alsatiam plain!

But, as far as how they claim to be a 4 start lodging, we could not see it. No soap the first evening and no one could bring it to us. The next day, when we came back and went to take a shower, the maid had forgotten to leave soap, AGAIN.

The front desk staff was snotty to say the least and not very helpful when it came to anything out of the ordinary.

Also, we wanted to do a little laundry and were told that we had to go down (literally) into town and do it ourselves: we never had that type of answer at a 4 star stablishment. During the same trip, we stayed at a few chambre d'hotes and even those, charging half of what this hotel charges, offered to do laundry for us if we had any. Not that we can't do our own, but on vacation it's nice to forget about it.

The view from this hotel is amazing, the view of the plains and the vinyards, farms and nearby villages was onbelievable!

The room was lovely, the beds were very comfortable.

The staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable.

The only thing I wish I'd been more aware of before I left was how far up in the hills the hotel is. It makes for quite a hike, especially if you are carrying anything. The hotel (and the community) is also a fair distance from the train station, a taxi is the way to go. None of this would be an issue if you had a car.

We had a fantastic meal at the hotel restaurant, including game with horns of plenty, foie gras and leg of doe. They had the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten.

If you are looking for a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere but close to everywhere, with amazing views, simple but refinated cooking with the best quality products, very polite, patient, discreet but friendly and smiling staff at the same time, huge and tidy rooms, comfy king beds, great bathrooms, nice pool area, close to the town with the most wonderful people in France, vintage and family style decor, STOP SEARCHING-THIS IS YOUR PLACE.
To be honest there are some minor faults they could easily solve:
- As other guests have adviced, the WIFI acces is OK in the common areas but it doesn't work in rooms at the annex. They could install routers in the lobby of the annex to solve this.
- Breakfast is really good, with first quality products, but there is a problem with the replacement of pastries and the fruit offered is very poor.
- Private terraces are clean and tidy but need a refurbishment
-We got a table for dinner with a nice view just on the two first days of our stay -and we were for a week,- so we would have liked to enjoy the views more times.
- Following to another reviews, I don't think that the amenities in the bathroom were not replaced. We did not have that problem. We think that the hair&body gel in the same package fixed to the wall is a very good idea to avoid the waste of all those little plastic bottles with a little soap remaining inside. It's something better for the environment-and for the economy, why not?
Some previous reviews criticize the style of the furniture and decor. I LOVED IT. It have been owned by the same family for many years, and they are very proud of this. But if you are looking for a posh, ultra design, state-of-the-art place, then keep searching -this is not your place.-
We went to dine out for two nights in the nearby: to The Winstub du Sommelier in Bergheim, nice but nothing special, and to a great great great place in Ribeauville, Winstub Pfïfferhüs (ask David to do a booking there-you won't regret it).
Overall, a wonderful and very enjoyable stay and they just need to improve those little things to have a PERFECT place.
I almost forgot to mention that the area is one of the most amazing I've ever seen in France -and I've seen more than a little bit of France.-
Special regards for DAVID and sweet CINDY

This is a great hotel with a great location! The views from this hotel are great, looking over the hill at the vineyards. We had two rooms and were able to have our own area. The accept dogs, doesn't matter the size. So, on our next stay we will take our dog! It has a nice pool and sauna area. The hotel is clean and very comfortable!

We have now stayed 5 times in 7 years at Clos St Vincent. The setting high amid the vineyards, the spectacular view over the area as far as Germany(!),the spacious and elegant comfort of room 25 (their best room, which we always take),the peace and serenity of the area, and the warm, sincere welcome from Emanuel and Annette, the owners( who are real hands on owners and take a very active part in the daily life of the hotel and its restaurant) make Clos St Vincent my favourite place to stay on all my extensive travels. Go stay there and fall in love with the place. It makes a perfect base for exploring the numerous and exquisite wine villages of this part of Alsace, as well as a day into Strasbourg if desired. There is a large and attractive pool that is mainly indoors but opens out onto the extensive gardens. Dining on the terrace is superb, with views to die for and an excellent if restricted daily menu. Marvellous fresh croissants at breakfast!

I stayed here last year in room 25 for 2 nights and on departure was already planning to return. I am once again! The family who operate this hotel are charming, welcoming, friendly and could not be better! The food of the elegant and panoramic restaurant is outstanding in quality, and dining on the outdoor terrace in the summer, surrounded by vineyards and ruined castles and ancient villages is sheer delight. The lower level houses an excellent swimming pool and sauna complex. The rooms are large, airy, sunny, luxurious and tastefully appointed. Breakfast for 18 euros may be had either on your private terrace or in the restaurant, but service only starts at 8. 15, which is a problem if you want to leave early for Paris. Some allowance should be made. Even getting to the hotel is lovely, driving up a small quiet road right amid vineyards. This hotel is peaceful and scenic, and perfectly located for exploration of the many delightful old villages in close proximity, or even a day out to Strasbourg . I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

If you mean dinner in the hotel, it was around 40euro per person, as I recall. Not cheap. But the food is very good and service excellent. I think the wines start around 25euro a bottle. The restaurant is in the middle of grand cru vineyards. A bottle of grand cru Riesling is 40euro and upwards. There are less expensive winstube style restaurants in the town - an easy walk down, a stiff walk back up! I hope this helps.

Telephone number of the restaurant is the same as the one of the hotel. In general, dress code is casual.

No, there are not, but you can smoke on the balcony (if your room has one). Or outside.
