Detailed Reviews
My husband and I, along with our friends, stayed at Hotel Flor de Sarta in León. The staff provided wonderful customer service and the rooms were as pictured. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was one of the bests we encountered in Nicaragua. The Nicaraguan breakfast that was included with our booking was so filling and so delicious. In terms of location, the hotel itself is located ideally where you're just a walking distance from the main square if León. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

We very much enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Hotel Flor de Sarta. The hotel is located on a quiet street only a short stroll away from the central square and Cathedral. We stayed in two rooms opening on to the courtyard, these were comfortable and well appointed. A delicious local breakfast was freshly prepared each morning. We especially liked the courtyard setting and the small pool was great for a dip after a day exploring the city. We would happily return.

Well designed, modern room. Helpful hosts: James is a standout. The pool area feels like a sunlit grotto. Exceedingly good breakfast. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Léon Centro (only a few blocks from the Catedral de la Asunción) this is a real find.

We chose the hotel as a it was recommended by friends who had a nice time there, so I have to admit we probably were just unlucky. First, the positive note, we were welcomed by the staff and Benjamin (owner) with a refreshing Toña (beer).
We just stayed for a night. The Internet was down the entire time. We got there at around 2:00 pm and left at 9:00 am. We didn't have running water either until late at night. I acknowledge that both, the Internet and water issue, were not the property's fault, however, when something like that happens an apology is not enough. We still had to go out for dinner tired and sweaty (after a flight from the U.S. and a 2 hour drive from Managua) we still couldn't get on the Internet to communicate with our friends and family. It was very upsetting not getting all the services we payed for or a discounted rate for not receiving those services. I would recommend the place with a better management.

We spent 4 nights here. The owners are always around and are friendly, personal and attentive. Their english is only so-so and their spanish is good but accented (french). The front desk help has good english and are around from the morning into the late hours. Rooms were clean though a little sparse and dull. Small desk without a light and counter space in the bathrooms is limited. Hot water is good with nice pressure. Shower size is huge but no tub (at least in our room). All the rooms surround the pool but with the hotel being family oriented, while we were there, night time noise was not an issue. The A.C. has a remote, is thermostatic, effective and was about as close to silent as any I've ever encountered. There is also a quiet fan/light unit right over the bed.
The hotel is about 3 long blocks from the central park of the historic town center. Close enough that it's an easy walk but far enough that the traffic and noise of the central plaza were not a problem. They are also within a block or so of the two bigger tour organizers, Tierra Tours and Quetzaltrekkers. There's a supermarket between the park and the hotel and of course being a latin american country, there's a farmácia (drug store) on every corner.
The hotel has two nice inside sitting areas in the front building. One with a conversation corner near the front desk with a nice view of the street life and the other is a living room set up with a big sofa, comfortable chairs, a library (mostly french), a big T.V. with a video game console. The pool is motel sized but generally clean and usable. Breakfast is buffet style and while it didn't change during our stay, there is enough variety that you don't have to have the same breakfast everyday. They don't have a bar per se but will sell you water, soda and beer from the cooler for prices similar to the supermarket. They put a small bottle of water in your room everyday but otherwise it's pay as you go.
Next to the pool and the kitchen is a small gym with just enough room for an elliptical, a bike, an okay universal style weight machine and a small set of hand weights. All the machines worked as did the T.V. on the wall but due to three glass walls you'll workout in full view of anyone in the pool or on the patio.
They can arrange airport transportation to Managua. I don't know if it's the cheapest but he was on time and a safe and confident driver. A fact you will appreciate as you enter the Managua traffic.

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed out stay. It has a very good location near the centre but at the same time is nice and peaceful. The owners and staff are excellent. They work really hard to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The room is perfect with air conditioning and plenty of space. There is a lovely pool where you can enjoy the sun & a gym for those so inclined. Breakfast is included and is a really good. It's help yourself & is cool and relaxing. The owners are very friendly but not at all intrusive. They will provide you with information and recommendations if you require any. We really felt welcome and comfortable during our stay & I would highly recommend you stay at this hotel while visiting Leon.

Where to begin on all the excellent features? Starting with the room: I was traveling with my 2 young-adult sons, so we needed 3 beds. The available room had 2 beds, but we were assured that a 3rd bed could be moved in. No problem, the 3 of us are used to having to maneuver around a roll-away bed wedged in with 2 other beds. But oh my goodness: this room with 2 queen-sized beds was HUGE. And they didn't roll in a roll-away. They carried in an entire twin bed: box spring and thick firm mattress with "pillow-top" and made it up with crisp linens like the ones on the other beds.
What else? Let's see... upon arrival, we were told to bag up our laundry so that they could take it to the lavanderia down the street to be washed--for free!
The owners/hosts are extremely attentive and helpful. They are often present on the premises-- because they live there!
An extraordinary hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently, and they were the two most comfortable nights we've had at a hotel in a long time, and possibly ever. Tanya, our host, was graceful, gracious, and thoughtful. She was absolutely amazing and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Every other employee in the hotel were very nice. The rooms are big and spacious. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was great as well. Bruno, the dog was a delight to have around and so was his girlfriend, Coco, the chicken. :) The pool is small but fantastic and nice to have because it was really hot during the day. We met the owner as well who was very gracious and nice to us. The location is perfect. It's around a 15 mins strut to the Cathedral and the Center. Lots of restaurants close by. Security in the hotel itself was very tight as well. If we're in Leon again, we wont even consider any other place but Flor de Sarta.

They did arrange some transfer for us at the hotel. I would call or email them directly and I think they could likely set that up.
I stayed at Flor De Sarta for a few nights in January and the only thing I saw was street parking. We had a driver during our trip to Nicaragua so he would drop us off at our hotel each day and then he'd take the car to wherever he stayed. I think in some places, for example in Matagalpa, there would be a public lot with someone who watched the cars for a fee. In Matagalpa I think it was 30 or 40 cordobas per night to park in the secure lot. Have you asked the hotel?
Hello,
In general it's not raining all day.
Could be 10 minutes or one hour at the end of the day, sometimes it's during the night but who knows!
Map is wrong. The hotel is abt 10 min walk to the Cathedral and Central Plaza. Plenty of restaurants nearby too.
Melanie_Patrick asked a question Mar 2016
Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States49 contributions1 helpful voteHow can I arrange for airport transportation? What is the approximate cost?
You can contact the owner to arrange transportation. Between Managua airport & Leon it will be about 2 hr. drive with traffic. I don't know what the cost might be since I've rented a car or taken by local friends.
