Roam Inn is a thoughtful renovation of a turn-of-the-century Lumber Baron's mansion, positioned on a hillside overlooking Lake Superior. Our team is lead by the adventurous "roam" brand. Local area knowledge of anything epic outdoors- is a brand specialty. Our hospitality background stems from decades of experience in the luxury tier; with the owners founding and operating Deployed Technologies- working on luxury hotels around the world. Roam Inn also features "Tracey's" - a very relaxed, fine dining restaurant within the older "mansion" (now lobby) space of the hotel. We are a true "stay and play" hotel- and our team is always ready to help answer any questions you may have about the area.

Detailed Reviews
Our one day and one night in Munising was saved by the beautiful room at the Roam Inn. Our pre-check in day in Munising included a return trip from our Pictured Rocks boat tour in a wind storm where we were subjected to torrential soaking sprays of cold Lake Superior; the only place we could find a Sunday evening dinner was Subway ( nothing against Subway, but not what we had in mind) then upon getting settled in our beautiful Roam Inn room with our sub sandwiches, there was a three hour loss of power. After all of that Munising drama, I can still give this hotel five stars.
The unassuming exterior appearance of this property opened to an incredible rustic, beautiful and functional setup of the interior hotel room. The bedding was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced; much appreciated after the adversarial day we had just experienced. Bath towels large and very fluffy. Property was incredibly quiet. Noticeably clean in this highly sensitive pandemic era, though staff was not consistent with masking. Nice view of Lake Superior from room.
The only regret was that our stay was on a night where the on-site restaurant was not open as the reviews of Tracy’s Restaurant were very good. The kind of vacation meal we seek. Again, given the unforeseen power outage, we were grateful to have our Subway’s!
The Roam Inn was definitely at a price point higher than I expected to pay in Munising, but this experience was truly a case of “you get what you pay for”. Should our travels ever take us back to Munising, the Roam Inn will be at the top of our list.

We found this place after limited options for chain hotels and Airbnbs. This has to be one of the best places in the area. The rooms are big. We have a king suite and the sofa bed is big enough for 2 kids who sometimes like to fight with each other. Plus, the sofa bed area is in a separate room that can be closed off with doors. The staff is super friendly! Would not even consider another place if back in the area.

Allowed me to check in early, ample snacks and coffee bar. It was easy on and easy off the highway, and had a view of the bay. Modern electronic keys allowed me to slip in after hours with no fuss. Staff manager Erin exceedingly helpful.

Accommodations are very pleasing, Hotel staff is phenomenal. The room itself is very updated very clean very comfortable, the heating / AC units are extremely quiet. The bedding is of good quality. The rooms were very spacious and had everything we could have needed or wanted for our stay! It's hard to believe that something that nice would that great of view is that inexpensive!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over labor day weekend. From the outside it doesn't look like a hotel but the room was beautifully decorated. We ran into a few issues though and this is why I say its not worth the 250 to 300 a night -
First, there were spider webs outside the windows and on the balcony. That wasn't pleasant but I can understand that, but there was also a cob web in the corner of the bathroom with a spider in it (I attached a photo). They obviously did not recently clean this room.
The second thing, we had to walk through the busy dining room to get to our room upstairs. I would have rather paid less money and slept in the rooms downstairs than pay for an expensive room and not have privacy. We locked ourselves out of our room once and we had to walk through the dining room then stand there in the middle of the other dining room and call someone to the desk to get a new key. The check in desk and stairs should be separate from the restaurant. That was awful and I'm sure it wasn't pleasant for the dining guests either.
Lastly, the power went out when we were there and when we went downstairs to ask about the outage they were very short and acted like they were bothered we were asking about it. You would think they would have explained the situation and asked if there was anything we needed. I mean it's an expensive hotel, shouldn't they be more accommodating especially knowing we were from out of town. There wasn't a fridge in the room big enough for food or drinks, they could have at least asked if we wanted a water or something why we waited. The whole town had no power. They knew we had no where to go.
I would stay at a different hotel if you are looking for a getaway in Munising.

+1
We had a wonderful 3 nights at Roam Inn. Our room was clean, extremely comfortable, priced competitively to the area, and in a great location. The bed was so comfortable we actually looked at the tag since we are in the market for a new one. We had everything we needed in our room and didn't have to ask guest services for anything. We made a reservation and ate dinner at Tracy's which is the restaurant in the hotel. Reservations were easy with the help of the front desk, and the food and service were top notch. The only thing I felt that the room was missing was a full length mirror for getting ready to go out to eat. A bit of constructive criticism- 1. I wish there were small signs to help you know where to find the front desk for check in, that was a small challenge. 2. The location of the front desk is odd and a little uncomfortable since as you check in your are really close to people eating at tables behind you, because the front desk is IN the restaurant. As an interior designer, my suggestion is that the front desk opening should be on the wall facing the front door to the building. Then you can either go right to the restaurant hostess, or left to check in at the front desk. Other than that- FABULOUS place!!!!

What a great place! It was a special occasion for us and we walked into the room (up graded to a larger room) to find a bottle of champagne on ice. Super clean room and a very professional staff. If you go I highly recommend the extra charge for the larger rooms with a view like room 12. I saw one review that said the bathroom had no space to set things. Don't sweat it! Lots of room in the bedroom. Tracey's restaurant which is part of the place did an amazing job as well. We sat at the bar after dinner for one more glass of wine and chatted with the bartender for a bit and found out the neat history behind the building. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!

We were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and spacious rooms at Roam Inn. Although normally too high prices during peak season months, off season pricing was very affordable. Parking can be a challenge as you cannot park close to your rooms in about 2/3s of the room. They at least have handicap accessible ramps for those who need them. Discounts were offered for the in house restaurant but it is very expensive and may not be able to address all ways of eating such as vegan and vegetarian. Amenities in rooms were top notch. Beds were comfortable and they shower was awesome.

Room #10 was small but had a nice shower, comfortable bed & pillows. Bathroom sink was very small with very little countertop space. Also only one bar of soap was provided to share between the sink and the shower/tub. Room and large hallways were very clean and quiet. No freezer was available for our cooler freezer packs (not one available in the lobby either). Expected a view of the Lake but could only see the high school building directly across the street. A tad pricey for the size of the room.
The restaurant, Tracey's, was very small but clean. Very small portions for the money (quite pricey). Service was fair to adequate.

We enjoyed our three-night stay at Roam Inn. It’s expensive and doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s quite nice in a sort of funky way on the inside. Our room (#5) was a king suite with a great sitting area. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean (v. important to me).The bathroom was small but it had great towels - and the rest of the room was so spacious that we stored our toiletries on the windowsill in the sitting area. We also loved the huge maps of the area in the hallway. Munising has limited dining options (the best is the onsite restaurant), so we ended up getting takeout a couple of times and just eating in. The front desk staff was friendly, but the desk is not always staffed. The one suggestion I would make is to have a breakfast option onsite. We asked for breakfast recommendations at the front desk on our first morning. Well, one of the places they recommended (the bagel place) was closed, we presumed due to Covid. Another (the casino down the road) didn’t open until nine and a man in the parking lot said they didn’t serve breakfast anyway. The bookstore cafe downtown had a line out the door and the local coffee shop only had two choices of prepackaged muffins. We ended up buying breakfast food at the local supermarket and eating in our room!

Sorry, no sofa bed in our unit.
Not sure... we were there in August, and we don't snowmobile. Sorry can't help with this.
Sorry, not sure.
We saw a few rooms that had dog dishes in the hall, and were designated dog friendly.
