To all dear friends and visitors, This is to inform you that farm is closed at the moment because all the house and building was badly damaged by earthquake. So the place will remain close until next notice. We will try to restart place as earlier we can. Thank you

The place is now closed after the recent earthquake of April 25th 2015. Socialtours sells this place in our go local series. During a recent enquiry we were made aware of the closure. This farm is sold in concurrence with our Throw your own souvenir trip.

We stayed at Gamcha from the end of March to the end of April 2015. A few days later after leaving an Earthquake devastated the place. Denise stayed the entire time while I went to Kanchenjunga to look at a natural statue of Buddha Maitreya holding fort near Lhonark, with Guru Rimpoche, Padmasambhava looking down from a mountain fortress. Pictures...

I was there at the end of March 2015, and since the earthquake I've tried to get back in touch. It will be so sad if the lovely people who run the Farm and Guesthouse have been hurt, and some of the atmospheric old buildings are likely to have suffered. We were beautifully looked after with a succession of fresh...

I can attest both personally and professionally the excellent stay I had at Gamcha, as I love to travel and also run Cultural Journey.org (authentic cultural tours and health and wellbeing retreats - ‘Journeys that Connect’ - to places of rich cultural heritages and people that practice ancient traditional ceremonies honouring spirit of place and nature). Having just returned from...

Nice and relaxed place, good service, fine trekking nearby in the hills, and excellent stay also by their "sister farm" in the mountains, with a lovely family cooking for me in real rural environment.

We arrived in Nepal and our daughter who had been living in Nepal had set up the Gamcha arrangements. It was a very serene and lovely way to start our trip in Nepal. Beautiful grounds, friendly people. Delicious food and wonderful service. The fact that it is a working organic farm made it all the more special.

Gamcha Organic Farm is by far the the most wonderful place I´ve stayed at in Nepal! I loved the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff -Mr. Dhungana can arrange all your trips and tickets and is always up for a chat :-) The kitchen serves delicious food, all organic and from the farm. Especially the breakfast is great (try Saraswatis...

Go and visit this place especially if you are interested in supporting a relatively new enterprise in organic farming and sustainable living. The Newari style house has a few rooms and there is a separate building with three bedrooms and self contained kitchen and bathroom that could be suited to small groups. I will definitely return!
