We decided on staying at the lodge based on positive reviews and were not disappointed. The place is very basic but clean and most important 5 min walking from the Konark Temple, 2 kms from the beach. Rooms are moderately sized don't expect any thing other than a basic lodge . Its functional and meets the brief. The manager even lent us his 2 wheeler for a quick ride to the beach early morning which was really useful. We had a lovely stay.
We stayed for two nights. We had booked from booking.com. We paid Rs 2380 for two nights. The place is dump except for the small garden. Too many mosquitos, king size. Bed is like a rock and pillows are huge and firm as rock too. You can't sleep with this pillow. Not at all value for money. Please avoid.
A very quiet, peaceful place to stay.Labanya Lodge,Konark is definitely not a hotel neither is a resort. The lodge has got all basic amenities for the guests without any frills. Both management & staff here are helpful and courteous. Very decent sort of people . The nearby restaurant is good , serves food at a reasonable rate. Quality of food is above average. Of course , the authorities will do better in improving the illumination inside the premises. Inside the rooms ,separate points for charging mobiles needed. Some refurbishments may be done regarding the linens. But , one thing the owner must never do ,- I've told him so. He must never change the quiet ,peaceful ambience of the place. In short , Labanya Lodge, to my mind,is an ideal place to rest.
we stayed at Labanya lodge for a one night in Feb 18, it is a cozy little guest house, rooms and the surrounding were really kept very clean. The atmosphere around the lodge is very peaceful you can quietly sit in the veranda overseeing the small flowering garden and enjoy the nature. we were two women staying here and never felt unsafe. The owner is very helpful, he willingly not only gave us his bike to see the sunrise but also extending our checkout time since we had a late train. I recommend this place to everyone, you can skip one night in Puri and stay here to see the Konark light and sound show at 8 pm in the night, it worth it. Puri is too commercial and you will have to checkout at 8:00 pm in almost all the hotels which we found very inconvenient.
We decided to stay in Konark and it was a good experience. This place was basic but clean. Clean bathrooms, bed. Booked and AC room. Very close to the temple. The owner was welcoming and helpful. They have a restaurant near by with a Japanese name. Nice dinner and breakfast. Fresh fish. They offered us their two wheeler to go to Chandrabhaga beach early morning and also the temple. Also made 2 trips to drop us to the bus stand out of a goodwill gesture. Cannot forget the hospitality. Should improve on soft pillow and soft cotton bedsheets and simple bedding.
