If you are planning to stay there ask for attached bathroom and do not pay in advance all nights. I did it so no way to change hotel and I had to stay there for 2 weeks. It is possible to find cheaper and cleaner.

Welcome Guest House offers an excellent location; on the main road through town, steps away from the Mahabodhi Temple (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site around which the city of Bodhgaya was built), Bodhgaya’s main market which spreads out on either side of the Temple gates and immediately across the street from a long row of souvenir tents. Bodhgaya is...

Contradictory to other reviews, our experience of the staff at Welcome Guest House was poor with very minimal customer service skills. The rooms were very basic and pretty dirty with our bathroom door completely rusted over. The main issue was the mice. We saw a mouse in our room pretty early on in the stay and went to speak to...

We've stayed here for 5 nights. The room sizes are ok with clean sheets, which is not always and everywhere the case. I regret to inform that we had a mouse in our room. To me not a problem because it didn't chew or nibble on any of our stuff, but that usually says something about the cleanliness and hygiene....

I can't say anything about the actual inside of the hotel: we emailed our booking 3 weeks in advance, received conformation of the booking, and were asked to reconfirm 2 days in advance, which we did. The day of our arrival our train was delayed, so we called the hotel from the train and told them we expected to arrive...

Kumar was a lovely host and the guest house is very close to the main temple complex and walking distance from almost all the other temples. He also took me out to see a village school and chat with some of the kids. The guest house is also part of a strip of hotels and restaurants and shops, so very...

We spent 4 nights at the Welcome Guest House. The location is ideal being just a few minutes walk from the temple complex. The rooms have everything you need, maybe a little basic but looking around town I don't think you would find anything better. The restaurant next door was also very good and we ate at least one meal...
