Like every visitor of the Fish River Lodge we were overwhelmed when entering the main door with the look down east to the canyon. And for all star viewers: The night sky is something not to miss - gets you in a type of special meditation!

Absolutely an excellent establishment in all facets, from the amazing accommodation to well prepared and excellent food to the stunning views. It is well worth the drive to get to the Lodge and all the staff are so welcoming and helpful !!! 5 star quality all the way!

We stayed in this lodge for one night. This lodge is located at the edge of the Fish River Canyon. The views from the lodge are exceptionally breath-taking. The food was good, rooms were well decorated and the staff were extremely helpful. The only drawback of this lodge is the road leading to the lodge. This road is a 40km...

We booked the lodge for a family holiday trip and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the lodge - what a stunning place! Views were incredible and the placement of the bungalows is awesome - you get a feeling of infinity and openness. What was also impressive is the green energy supply, as well as the conservation thereof. Please...

The location of the lodge at the edge of Fish River Canyon is breathtaking. Each little chalet has a great view! Rooms are very clean, and we can recommend the day trip to the ground of the canyon which is offered at the lodge.

A fantastic position on top of the canyon, but a little bit run down in the last years. The outside shower was working properly, the inside shower was only drizzeling. All the upholstery was dirty, the door lock was bent. When the wind blows, which happens very often, doors and windows are rattling. The dress code and behavior of other...

The Fish River Lodge has experienced phenomenal occupancy over the past 12 months. This success in turn has a direct impact on the wear and tear of the lodge. We are happy to advise that the lodge will be closing for 2 weeks in January 2017 at which time a comprehensive repairs and maintenance project will be undertaken which will...

The trip to the lodge is definitely worthwhile. After reading the description of the road there, I was apprehensive. But the road wasn't as bad as the description made it sound to me. Most of the rocks are small stones and the road is very drive-able. Although I saw two sedans that made the trip, I was glad to have...

I would actually prefer to rate this lodge as "Good" rather than "Average", but that is not an option. The lodge itself is very nice, but the terrible access road to it does severely impact upon one's enjoyment and appreciation of the view; Personally, if you want the view I would rather recommended flying in to the lodge airstrip, or...

The 19 km to the lodge is a challenging experience but was more than worth it. On the arrival after 1h the view was breathtaking. It was to hot for hiking in the canyon, but we did the sundower tour with a very nice guide , appetizers and gin tonic for the sunset. A beautiful moment at the canyon. All...

This is a isolated location with a view that no other accommodation offers! It has modern African architecture and interiors in a prime location. The food was equal to the setting. The wind might be a problem for some but for us it was part of the ambience.
